i have seen many great guyz out der changing and using cool boot splash screen on der android devices. i wanted to know is there any way to change and remove the deafult lg boot splash screen with any other which i want?

Hey everybody, got some wallpapers, ringtones, and a boot animation from the Motorola Atrix 4G. Enjoy!
I think the boot animation should work on most devices. I tested it out on my Samsung Captivate. I promise it's more impressive on the phone than in my video below. My camera doesn't capture dark colors well.

I've modified the desc.txt file from the bootanimation.zip file so that it loads the red logo only.
If you place it in the system/media folder, it should work properly.

If you want to just install the red logo boot animation, you need to root your device and buy Root explorer to install the bootanimation.zip file in the System/Media folder.
There are other methods explained somewhere, I don't remember where.

Same problem, I have used Super Manager to move the bootanimation.zip file into my system/media folder and then attempted to reboot.
My phone boots normally, without the new boot animation.
Any ideas?

What do you mean by shutdown screen? The TV style animation or actually turning the phone off?
If it's the TV of thing when you press the power button, it isn't happening on anything that isn't a 2.3 rom.

For anyone else interested, this changes the boot animation to show "Android" in silver letters. It's not the Nexus S boot animation as shown here

its not just a custom boot ani, if you look in the /media/video/shutdown folder you will find the shutdown animation images. Not sure why the phone doesnt handle shutdown animations the same way it handles boot animations but its there. Now of course it would only work on roms that support the shutdown animation.

To change the lg stuff is going to be pretty tough i link. Thats not part of the rom and might have to be done with like cdma tools or something.
But changing the goot animation is easy, just download the animation you want (make sure the resolution on its not to big) and paste it in the system/media folder on your phone with root explorer or something.

Even easier to place it to /data/local without any root required.
I wonder about this too. The bootanimation.zip is just that, the boot animation and doesn't even require root access to change. however, the manufacturer animation that comes before it I would like to change. I am running CM7 and would like to change the static red LG logo for the 'electron beam' animated one used in virtually every other rom, including the stock firmware. Wonder if anyone could just make a flashable zip to do this. I'm looking at wiki article and while I feel confident I could do it, it looks like a brick waiting to happen!

the ROM animation is easy you can either get a existing animation zip and rename and replace the bootanimation.zip with root explorer depending on where it is stored in your ROM if you want to make your own the animation is not a video it is a series of png files so you can make one yourself im not sure about the order just take a existing bootanimation.zip and unzip it and take a look

there´s also a app that change the boot logo with prviews i have the lite version of it and i can change maybe 10 diferent boot anim. its more easy fast and simple to do and you could choose the resolution you want the panim to have

here are some sizes and resolution gif of the boot animation... pick your color.
ICS animation is a real ***** to work with and keep good quality... too many colors involved in the original which is jpeg compression...
so the minimal file size you get is larger than perfered..

Doesn't work on mine either and rom manager freeze my touchpad when trying to fix permissions.
Use es file explorer. Longpress, properties permission. Click "execute" on all 3 .
If you're on ics base this wont display correctly btw.

Check out this post for cm9 boot animation. Dowload the 480 x 800 for glacier and replace your existing boot animation. It's pretty sweet looking!
