Hello i was wondering if anyone has installed their G-tab in their vehicle as a permanent or removable media center. I was curious if so how you went about it.
I drive a Infinti G35 Coupe and want to totally remove my cd player and integrate the gtab in the vertical position in the center console.
Here is a video of a vehicle that this was done to using the Ipad

Anyone plz let me know.
Thanks!!!
Well first, you do not want to put it in vertically. The viewing angle will not really allow you to see it from the drivers deat. Its better horizontally. you need alot of space to instal this thing. Its wider than an ipad. The only problem is the ports. Power and audio need seperate cables. You can easily run the power from the battery, audio idk; but that custom dock in that video is crazy. I took mine and put it in a doc that attached to the car power jack but it didnt power it. Basically you need someone to fabricate a custom dock. Then worry about power and audio. But the custom roms do have a cool thing called car home. Helps alot. Add in a bluetooth gps and ur golden.

I've started to do something similar with my Pandigital Novel in my Prius.
The way I see it, you have a few options. The first would to be to just get an auxiliary input for your current radio and a car charger for the g tablet. Then you could mount it and run the wire how ever you like. If you just simply use double sided tape or velcro like I did in my Prius, this would be the easiest option and would be very reversible.
If you want to get more involved you could look into doing the same thing but moving the stereo somewhere underneath the dash and make a custom mount to put the g tablet in it's place. This would obviously be much more involved.
In both cases, you would just set the radio to the auxiliary input, set it a a higher volume level, and then control the volume and media via the tablet. However, I see the g tablet's limited viewing angle being a huge problem in this setting. Combine that with the very reflective surface and bright day light, you may have a hard actually seeing the device. I would test mount it with some velcro for a day just to get the angle right.
Another thing that I've noticed while working with the Pandigital Novel is that when the power is plugged in, it outputs a very noticeable whine through the auxiliary cable. This may be because I was just testing it with the wall charger plugged into an inverter, I may have better luck with a car charger.
Best of luck, be sure to let us know if you can get the viewing angle right!
I'm currently working on something like that on my 1970 cutlass. You dont really need a stereo you can just connect it to any piece of $hit amp you find on craigslist. Any amp tends to get louder than the majority of stereos. Ill post some pictures when i finish.
Its funny i just saw this post today, i basically finished a custom bracket to use as a mount yesterday and plan to set my gtab into my car using it, just waiting on a part to be delivered to finnish it, ive already basically been using my gtab as a gps and to stream music to my car sterio using a fm transmitter, works like a charm.
When im done we will be able to use it as a gps using a bluetooth gps, and play mp3s via the fm transmitter, watch movies even. With the mount im making it will be possible to adjust the angle to minimize the limited viewing angles.
This gtab is the best value for money i have seen in a while
I was going to make this a separate thread but think it will do good here.

this is the end result of me just walking around wal-mart and spending about 20 bux for some easy to use materials.. I am happy with the way it turned out.
more pix to come and a video is uploading to youtube.

Thanks everyone for replying back to me. I have actually decided to send my entire Dash off to SOUNDMAN so he can fabricate a fiberglass area for my gtab as i will be removing my stereo all together.
here is a video of what the final product should look like.

EVERYONE PLEASE KEEP POSTING ABOUT YOUR MODS! ALSO ANY VEHICLE MOUNTS THAT YOU GUYS ARE USING!
Wow, be sure to post pics when you get it back! Did he specify how you are going to connect the tablet to the rest of your audio system? It seems as though it would require some sort of hard core custom harness.
gator2k83, very nice job on that custom mount! I'm at work, but I'll take a look at the videos later. I'm very interested in what parts you used so I can look into building something similar...
I just walked around walmart it would have been better to use more wood then cardboard

G-tab is too big and glossy for something like this. Even with a screen protector the glare is pretty bad. Better to use something like the Archos 5 Android tablet which will give you 500 GB storage space and a 4.3" screen. Was on sale at amazon for $240.
i am trying to avoid a small screen. I essentially want to end up with a very large integrated screen in my dash that looks and feels factory and a bit futuristic.
I know i am an optimist but i guess if i dont try i will always wonder lol.
@sanvara
Funny u mention that bc that's what I normally have in my dash is a archos 5 internet tablet.

With the setup I have now I can use ether one. The archos 5 IT integrates into the dash for a more stock look but I wanted to have the choice for something a little bigger for road trips as I mostly drive @ night when going to see family.
These are two really good "factory" looking installs:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oDy2ZU8xqc

Yup thats exactly the look i am going for. i just want it to be stock-factory look.
I'm actually going to be doing the same thing in my truck (2003 Mercedes ML 500). I have a jabra cruiser bluetooth (w/ FM modulator) adapter that I use, so I stream music from my tablet while driving all the time, and sound quality is fairly good. Quality is actually comparable to fm radio, the volume is just a bit lower. Having the G-Tab set at 75% volume seemed to give me the best sound.
So I assume having a direct connection in opposed to FM modulation should help improve sound. (I could be wrong). My one setback is the my truck uses fiber optics for the sound/amp so I have to buy a converter which runs about $200.
My question would be are you completely replacing your cd player/headunit? what do you plan on doing for am/fm radio? Possibly you don't listen to it at all.
I'll posibly get a 4g mobile hotspot and put it in my truck, but do I really want to be streaming FM or AM radio and using bandwith for that?
Not sure on whether I'm going to use the G-Tab or use a galaxy tab or some other android tablet (preferably with a higher res screen) internal GPS would be nice, although I ordered the GSat bluetooth gps yesterday. Another point of contention for myself is that I already have a 15 in drop down tv in my truck, so I'd want my car tablet to have a port to run a video out cable to my tv. Can't do that w/ the GTab w/o a dock correct?
So these are some of the things that I have to think about before I install, this is even before constructing the mount, lol.
Some more issues/things to think about..
You'll probably want some sort of swing hitch like the guy in the ipad video, since the power button is on top. I control keys don't illuminate, so controls at night could be an issue. You'll probably want to run a USB cable from the Gtab to yourglove box, so that you could add media easier.
You have probably thought of these things already, but I figued that I'd at least voice some of them in case they slipped your mind.
Or so that some others here can help me and correct me, lol.

I actually plan on extending the power button to a different location so that way i dont have to worry about permanently mounting the tablet. I also did purchase the BT Gsat adapter for the gps and i rarely listen to fm radio, but a fm antenna adapter can fix that or simple streaming using my phone as a hotspot.
As for additional storage access, i was actually planing on having a usb hub within my center console.

Okay, I was going to hold off to pick up a Motorola Xoom within a few weeks but on a whim, I saw the Viewsonic G-Tablet for $299.99 at the local Office Depot. Okay I thought then I could live with its "defective" display and unwieldy weight/shape. For me, it actually resembled the Xoom! At least a less expensive version of it.
Indeed, for me the XDA support for ROM (and hopefully Honeycomb 3.0 port) as well as its Tegra chip were the deciding factors to pick up the GTab this morning.
I will be charging it up later after dinner with my stepdad and then installing Clockwork Mod then a ROM of my choice. I also will be relating my adventures here a poor man's (hacker's) Xoom. And I post that I can regret not getting a Sprint Galaxy Tab. So convince me
More adventures to come... any advice here now?
Yes.
Don't hold your breathe on HoneyComb. And don't post asking where it is
No Honeycreams until full AOSP released from google. 'Nuff said.
I just picked up the G-Tab at lunch today and I have Vegan running now. My first impressions of it are good. It is a little heavier than I thought it would be but I didn't buy it for the weight as much as I did to not have to burn my legs with my old Acer laptop. I see the problems with the screens that everyone complains about but I am finding that if you 1. have it laying flat it is worse and 2. have a black background it looks bad. I plan on using this at an angle and I am glad to be able to use more colors than my Vibrant (black on the phone for battery savings purposes). It is snappy and the wifi antenna is pretty strong. I was able to play my movies that I ripped for the Vibrant and they look great on the screen. I ripped them down at a high level and large screen aspect.
I was like you and debating between the different tablets out there but I think I am going to be happy with this device. The more I read the more I kept coming back to it thinking it was a better device except for the stock software which was easy to replace. I wanted the Samsung 7" tablet when they came out but after seeing this next to it there wasn't any hesitation for me. And for me personally Honeycomb isn't a big selling point. I have been running HC on an SDK emulator and I am not impressed with it enough to spend an extra $200-300.
I hope you like yours, I am happy so far.
I still don't understand this complaint about the weight that I've been seeing all over the internets. It is .22 lb more than the ipad. The ipad weighs 1.33 lb and the gtab weighs 1.55 lb.
If 1.55 lb is too heavy, return it and buy yourself an ipad. Enough said.
As for the galaxy tab it is nice and I prefer the 7" form factor but you have to buy into a contract-no thanks and the galaxy has a single core chip. It costs about $50-85 or in my case $100 more if you are paying Ca tax. The gtab has better specs and better battery life.
The Xoom is over $300 more and as much as I would like to have 3.0 I am not sure it does anything our tabs can't already do. Lets face it we all want hc and in time it will makes its way to this device. Prices are dipping down because a slew of new tabs will be coming out around June or so and I don't think any of them will cost $300!
The screen is pretty nice coming from an elocity a7, now ipad, galaxy have nicer screens and so does the xoom but I really do not see a big problem with this one. I think it looks great. Weight is not a big issue either. It is a poind and a half, we arr not talling heavy. I just wish it was easier to type with my thumbs like my elocity. The devs here have createdvseveral awesome roms that make this device fly. Other than limits of froyo being a phone os this is a great tab. I think I see why apple is so succesful because they only support two devices which means a lot more continuity in the user experience. However, I value freedom and choice so the price you pay is some apps not working. In a year or so when hc has been out and second and third gen hc devices are out the user experience will be very different than now. Thay said the gtab is pretty sweet.
Going to make this review rather short. Just got this tablet this morning at a sweet song price. I went to XDA Developers and followed the directions to get rid of the Tap N Tap interface here at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=865245 and added Clockwork Mod to allow for custom ROM's on this device. After a tad bit of work eliminating the default interface, then I proceeded to install the Notion Ink Adam ROM found here at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928152 which allows for the Eden interface that runs very smoothly for the most part.
Everything is much better now. The device is a tad bit heavier but it's basically so similar to the Wi-Fi version of the Xoom that in many ways this is a developer's device.
I must recommend this device and I think that I may consider getting a second one because there is no locked bootloader to prevent us from making more ROM. Now it's a matter of waiting for Honeycomb to arrive or maybe even a Xoom port someday!
Mine arrived last Thursday but I was in Vegas for the extended weekend. Ordered it from TigerDirect for $307 shipped. Came home Monday night, kissed the wife and grabbed the gTab and started playing around with it (truth be told she opened it while I was gone and was teasing me about the fact that she was messing with it before I did).
Anyway, I really liked the stock home screen with the icons across the bottom and the weather display, etc. I have an automated home with touch screens around the house, so I was immediately thinking about how I could incorporate several of these around the house for lighting, etc... However, as much as I liked the screen, I found the performance to be not-so-hot.
I followed the instructions for CWM and TnT on Wednesday night and the gTab went from a purchase that I was moderately pleased with to contemplating how long it will be until I purchase a second one . For me, there was a noticeable change in speed.
I have a HTC Evo and was a bit nervous about rooting the phone, but I think I will need to now in order to take advantage of the mobile hotspot.
I think the battery life it ok. I'm currently playing a video on it to see how it eats the battery. I want to be able to use the tablet on flights, and need to know how many movies I can play on it on a single charge. Once I beat it up a little more I will have a better understanding of how much time I will get out of a charge.
I don't own an iPad (I'm just not into the whole Apple thing), but I have to say that I would have no problem showing this off to any of my friends that have iPads. For me, not having to spend $600 plus a data plan was a plus for me. The unit will primarily be used in my house, and when I am out I will be tethering it to my phone so I don't see the need for a unit with a data plan.
I was looking at the Samsung Galaxy, but I felt that the 7" screen was just not enough real estate for me.
Now I need to buy a case and a screen protector for this think before it gets scratched up.
In the end, I am very pleased with my purchase.
GB
Wow, tonight was an experience as I was hanging around the Apple Store (Gateway) and found out that people thought that I was dragging around the Motorola Xoom. That must be a really good mix up. The confusion suggests that people do confuse the Xoom with the GTab.
I will have some comparison pictures later on in this thread.
My G Tablet Experience
I'm new to the tablet thing. I don't own a smartphone so this is the first time I bought a non Windows PC device. $280 on woot seemed a lot better than dropping $600+ bucks on an iPad to see if a tablet would work out well for me.
The first thing that immediately struck me was fingerprints. I know it was going to be inevitable, but I just can't believe how dirty the screen gets after a normal browsing section. Because it's new, I'm always wiping the screen with a microfiber towel to keep it looking clean. I know that there's that Rain-X solution but I'm ordering a screen protector to reduce smudges.
The other thing I found is how awkward it is to hold. Because of the decreased view angles I need to hold it up at a very precise angle. It's too large to hold in one hand and my one hand starts to cramp after a while from holding it up. Using it in portrait mode is a little better since I can grasp it with two hands and just use my thumbs to scroll and navigate. But there are some things I just can't do very well in portrait mode. I just ordered a new case with the integrated kick stand and keyboard which should help propping it up. I'm looking forward to using it as a very capable little netbook.
Other than that, this is a cool little device. I installed Vegan and it seems to do everything I want. I'm still trying to figure out how to get a normal mpg movie to play on it. I must not be using the correct encoding since I select the file in the explorer and the screen just goes black. I do not see any errors, just a black screen. So I need to play around with it some more because I really would like to watch movies on my commute.
This thing definitely holds its own against other tablets twice the price. I'm glad I took the gamble to try it out.
I have a very similar experience.
I am able to play movies encoded in mp4 format. I believe the video comes with the tablet is in mp4 as well.
Tried a couple of avi file that had sound comes through but has gobbled video.
Have not try any quick time mov files yet.
I think fingerprint is unavoidable with touch tablets. My impression of Ipad is the same, gets smodged quick and the screen is also too reflective. Probably just to a lesser degree than the GTablet. Please post back on your screen protector experience.

Bingo. I encoded the movie using the "iPad" setting in Handbrake and that created a playable file. I just opened up the file explorer and played the .m4v file right off the thumb drive. I'm loving this mighty tablet a little more every day.
I just bought a second Viewsonic G-Tablet from Office Depot this morning and I am happy as a clam in fact. I took a photo of mine as compared to the svelte iPad 2 at the Gateway Apple Store for benchmark comparison.

Hi Guys,
I just wanted to share my experience regarding these bad boys. BUY IT!!!
I have nothing but bad luck with BT headsets. Everytime I buy one, I return it.
But... with the LG HBS-700 my luck just changed. Let me tell you it works unbelievable good with the Prime and cellphone together. It has BT 2.1 with multiconnection capabilities so you can have your tablet and cellphone paired/connected at the same time. So if you are listening music or watching a movie and get a phone call the sound from the tablet will go down while you take the call.
The sound quality is amazing and also excellent call sound. I received great feedback from several callers, they all told me my voice was crystal clear.
So there you have it in case you were looking for a BT device that works

I replied over at transformer forums but I'll just put this here too. I have to agree with you, these are the best I've tried. As far as the comfort, they are almost too comfortable. I work in a refinery, I'm not supposed to carry anything outside that is not intrinsically safe. I kept going out to make my rounds with these still hanging around my neck. I wouldn't realize it until I sat down again to watch a movie and couldn't find them on my desk. I actually bought a Sony Bluetooth receiver just so I would have to take it off before going outside. The Sony had great sound but was too hard to connect compared to my LG, and I can't get used to the Sony hanging off my chest so it's just going to collect dust on my desk.
i bought a pair of these back in november 2011 on a whim. they are amazing. superb quality sound (for earbuds at least), great battery life. super easy to pair (i use with my phone and a bt transmitter on my ipod, soon will be using on my new transformer prime). HIGHLY recommend them. i get a lot of comments about them, confused people who have never seen headphones like this. they are super comfortable to wear too (i forget i have them on a lot of times). WELL worth the money
I'm glad you guys like it.
I really wanted to share my experience as I know there are many like me that were looking for a good BT headset.
Holy **** I didn't even know headsets could multiconnect 55 bones too? Pretty badass.
I'm currently using a Phillips Bluetooth set that is very comfy but the sound could be much better. I originally got them for my phone for walks in very hot Arizona. They do well with sweat so they serve their purpose. Paid 70 for them tho.
I just ordered mine from Amazon. Thanks OP, I was looking for a good BT headset for a long time and could not settle on one. My wife bought one of the Motorola S10 headsets, but I did not like how they felt. Hopefully, this headset works for me.

Lol I should get paid by LG hehehe.
I bought the S10's as well and returned them. I just didn't like them, they worked fine but very uncomfortable.
So you will be happy with the HBS-700
What sucks is I can't stick anything in my ears. Bothers me too much. I'm still on the hunt for the perfect headphone/headset. Right now I'm stuck using a wired model. And the Sennheiser bluetooth models are sooooo expensive. $300???
Do they work well for listening to audio AND browsing the net? I know the prime has a wifi/bt issue, so it would he interesting if these worked with no issues. Also, are the tips foam or rubber? I am a big fan of the JVC marshmallow series because they in early pieces are foam and not rubber. I feel they create a more solid experience because they fill out the cavities in your ear, much like the cheaper ear protection you can buy that are just foam pieces.
It may be an oversight on my part, but I didn't see anything about it in the thread. Feel free to flame should I have missed something.

I must say I picked up a pair of these after reading the thread, and they are fantastic with my GS2...
... however when I try to pair with the Prime it keeps failing to pair saying "incorrect pin / passcode" and then it won't connect.
Has anyone else experienced this? Or have a solution for me?

Mine connected no problem. if it asks for a passcode the instructions say to put in 0000 if its not and just coming up with that error then I'm sorry I have no help for you.
Cheers,
it wasn't asking for a pin though, just saying that pin failed... which was strange.
Anyways, unchecking the Media Audio on my phone then trying to pair with prime "fixed" it, and allowed it to pair fine.
Now it works perfectly with both devices.
No one has stated whether or not they have issues with their signals when using these. I would love to pick up a pair but I don't want it to be in vain

I have no problems streaming pandora and using these at the same time - however I have experienced issues streaming youtube videos. i have not played with it enough to know if it is the bt/wifi fall out issue - but I suspect it is.
I have listened to audio (saved locally) and browsed at the same time, and it appears the bandwidth takes a hit - but I need to perform more testing.
Other than that, I love these headphones - though they are a bit fragile - but no more than any other earbuds I own. Just need to be careful when storing in a bag, etc.
I love that it uses a micro usb charger port - I haven't had a need for the charger supplied in the box - I just charge them before charging my phone at night - or while at the office.
Work perfectly synced to both my Gnex on the phone profile, and TF Prime on the media profile. Easy enough to turn on the media profile for the Gnex when wanting to listen to audio on that - synced right back to the TF prime once the media profile was disabled on the Gnex.
The design is amazing and super comfortable as everyone else has stated. Everyone at work was 'wowed' with them the first time they saw me using them. Some have even asked me to send them the link to it on amazon.
I've always been a FIRM believer in wired audio - but this is super convenient. The first time I used these headphones was the first time in YEARS I didnt have to be careful about a wire during my daily commute on the bus and subway, and putting on/taking off my bag/coat.
The only thing I could see them adding to this is an aux out - so it can only be used as a bluetooth receiver hooked up to a stereo device... but thats just the engineer in me thinking wildly!
One other small small gripe - on the left side is the phone connect button (answer/hang up), volume down in front, and volume up in back.
On the right side is the media connect button (play/pause), fast forward in front, and rewind in back.
In my mind I correlate volume up with fast forward (increasing) and volume down with rewind (decreasing). Had I designed these, I would have swapped the location of the volume buttons - but this is nothing a few days of use does train me to get used to!
I imagine they did it this way because they figure a user would use FF more often - and need to use Volume Down in more urgent situations than Volume Up.
And for those that asked - these have rubber ear pieces. It comes with two sets - I didn't look at the second set because the ones that came installed fit my ears perfectly!
I love this headset! The sound is great from both my Prime and my Captivate Glide. I found that I can keep both media and audio connection active on my phone and have only media checked on my Prime, that way, when I wanna use them with my Prime, I just active the BT on my Prime before my phone and everything works superbly. Thanks for the recommendation.

I haven't tried mine - but most other buds I have tried end up falling out. I also would not want sweat anywhere NEAR this. Since the main unit sits on your neck - I'm sure it would not be comfortable at all.
I picked up a pair of these for working out:

I see. Thats true, sweat might cause irritation on my neck because of the friction.
hi guys!
I'm looking into putting my tablet into the dash of my jeep and using it as my primary stereo. has anyone already done this? im just looking for some advice , ideas and maybe some links
one of my major questions is about needing an amp or even hooking it up directly to the tablet since i plan on completely removing the old stereo.
thanks everyone!
You won't be able to use it as a stand alone unit. I'll see if can dig any info up on some of the car audio forum that I'm on
Sent from my Transformer Prime using Tapatalk 2
the prime alone cant power your speakers
you'll have to either get some kind of amp or make your own amp to connect to the speakers then connected to your prime
thats pretty much your only problem
Edit:
sorry i didn't really read your post -_-;
i'm sure you can buy an amp at like best buy or amazon
or any local stores regarding sound systems
and just go on ebay, search up "[car name] 10" tablet mount" or something like that 7" uses double din
so you might need to make your own
Prime >3.5mm patch cable>Amp>Speakers
3.5mm patch cable from the net or Radio Shack type store. Or you could find some old ear buds and cut the cable to input to the amp.
Of course you'll need a mount for the prime.
Good luck and post some pictures.
I wouldn't go straight from the tablet to the amp. Even a stock head unit is going to give you tuning options that you can't duplicate with just the tablet. The Prime going to an aftermarket head unit would be even better. You could even keep it wireless by using A2DP if you don't mind the (arguably minor) decrease in audio quality.
I know I may be castrated for posting something like this here, but go to YouTube and search on "iPad car stereo" or better yet heres a link:
a link
You can get a good idea of the equipment you will need to do it right.

I'm actually doing this. I'm still in the planning phase until I get the funds, but shouldn't be more than $400-500$
I have a 2005 Ford f150 (which has a double din unit)
1. Get single din radio. I chose an Alpine unit with sub outs, AUX and Bluetooth audio and USB. That's 2, potentially 3 methods of sound, and maybe even chargeable if i do some re-wiring.
2. Get a front double din-single din insert that makes it look "clean". I do this for aftermarket if i sell the car, the tablet is NOT going with it.
3. Create a carbon fiber mold that inserts into the front insert (can be removable or not) and that will hold on to your tablet.'
-I would first create a wire-mesh mold to exactly the liking, then create the carbon fiber with that.
-i'll sand it and paint it satin black
-I will allow a tilt in the mold so the the tfp is leaning SLIGHTLY back
-There will also be an entrance hole in the mold to allow access to the radio (Only when the TFP is not installed) that way, we can still have access to the radio.]
message me if you want tips and such
I think I might be inclined to use a smaller, cheaper tablet like a Nook Color. I'd think that the Prime might be a tad on the large side...
I did this with the Galaxy Tab 7 and then 7+. I ended up taking it out. The Samsung software was just too buggy. I do recommend a 7 in tablet as it fits almost perfectly into a double din opening (although the prime is much better than those galaxy tab's). I can PM you a diagram of how to hook up a separate amp to power the tablet if you want.
you are asking your question in the wrong forum,,,, you should look at some of the carputer forums. those guys do some nutty stuff.

The cheapest way to do it is already mentioned, which it to do 3.5mm to RCA to Amp to speakers. However, this gives you no real flexibility.
I honestly think that the best is to get a nice single DIN HU and go from there. I've done some research and it is hard to get great audio from the Prime (however, this could change with the audio upgrades introduced in JB). Unless you are very serious about audi then Bluetooth should be worthy enough and couple with a single DIN HU you will have Radio, CD and your Prime.

I agree entirely. I'm an audiophile and, 1, the TFP doesn't have the true amperage support (while an amp can be involved, its unnecessary) and, 2, get a nice alpine unit which has great audio processing (over aux, bluetooth, radio, usb blah blah) and connect to that. costs maybe $250 after instal, but well worth it. Then you don't lose radio function, sub outs for your sub (if you have one) and still tfp lookin sick
Here's what I do in my work truck. $40 for the universal headrest mount at fry's.

I'v never heard of a self proclaimed "audiophile" recommend an inexpensive head unit.
The correct way to do it is:
Tablet -> Pre-Amp -> Amp -> Speakers
When I say "correct" I mean the best way to replicate the sound as it was originally intended by the recording engineer.
In reality, the state of car audio is horrible. Speaker placement, crossovers, and baffling will create many, many issues for a "true" sound inside of a vehicle. Depending on the level of time and money you've put into those issues will determine how much time and money you put into connecting your tablet to the speakers.
IMO, the best bang for the buck would be an ebay tripath based amp -- like the TA2020 or TA 2024 from this guy :
http://stores.ebay.com/helderhifi
I have no affiliation, but have purchased several amps from him.
The drawback is a subwoofer. You'll have to integrate some sort of active crossover to make it work, possibly you can find a subwoofer amp that comes with one.
In conjunction with this, a software EQ can do a decent job of pre-amp controls, and there are a couple to pick from in the Android world. I really like the one that come pre-packaged with Cyanogenmod.
Good luck, and keep us posted with pics!
I don't know if you are looking to do video in the dash or just wanting the prime for audio. But, consider just spending your money on a decent stereo system... head unit, speakers, and an amp/subwoofer. just make sure the HU does bluetooth and you should be set. I don't do this with my prime but my Motorola Defy has my entire music collection on the sd card and I use it every day in my truck. I dont even have to take it out of my pocket, the connection is automatic and I control the audio from the head unit. I love it, it works great, and I dont have a bunch of cd's in my truck. I could do 3.5mm on my stereo, or a usb connection but why bother with cables when you can do it wireless.
Like the previous poster said, the dsp manager from cyanogen works great and has settings for headphones, speaker, and bluetooth.
You could look to crutchfield to see what fits in your car and then look for the head unit at a local box store so you can go and test the tp/stero bluetooth connection.
Just set this up in my truck:
Audio is streaming to my head unit via bluetooth

I wish it had active noise cancelling like the Nokia Bluetooth headset.
What is the different between the Samsung Gear Circle and the LG Tone Plus (Which I currently have) the both go around your neck(So to speak) you can answer calls listen to music have spoken text. So am I just paying for the Brand of Samsung or is there a big difference?
I also have and absolutely love the Tone + and would love to know if:
the majority of the weight on the back of your neck could be an issue after a while (I wear my tone + all day long and don't feel a thing).
they slide off to one side, or bounce on your neck when running.
using one plug in yiur ear and leaving one plug out would create an imbalance.
About that last point, the Note + keep the plugs in place through magnets, but I can not imagine how this would work with the Circle. They seem to be really designed to be used in both ears or none at all. I sometimes need to hear my environment, including when driving and running.

I bought the the gear circle and I love it. It's lightweight. When I'm not using it i sometimes forget I'm wearing it. It also comes with 3 different neck guards to keep it in place so it won't slide or bounce even with one ear plug in. I have set up the eq and it sounds great.

Thanks. I guess for my use case, the Tone + are a better fit, then.
LG tone vs Gear Circle
Having all the LG headsets, I believe the Gear Circle to be a better active headset. I have been using the headset for a week now. Audio quality is better than the LG line. The noise isolation is better than the LG line and the feel is better than the infinim headset. my only complaint is the ear buds could be much smaller. Here is my unboxing and pairing videos. I will have a pros and cons later this week., http://youtu.be/UT4NiDGOwLU unboxing and this is the setup one. http://youtu.be/9Us7oRuprn8
Thanks. Now I know for sure these would not work for me: I can't stand earplugs that are designed like this (half in half out), and once I saw them in your hand, I realized how large the pieces in front of the earplus are, which would be hanging off my ears.
For now, LG is still my number one. Maybe the Circle 2. ..

Nice unboxing sir? You show a good view to the flexibility of the the device, and to the sizes of the ear plugs. Have much flop is there with the neck brace on?
Thank You
I find that the circle slides backward. When it does (because of the weight of the neck support unit) it pulls the buds out of my ears. The Tones do not. I have the infinitum; should have stayed with the unit with active noise cancelling. Sound in all units is excellent. However, nothing matches the noise cancelling ability of my bose in-ear units. However, they require a headset jack.
My review of the Circle.
I just recently JUMPed from the Note 3 to the Note 4. In the time between Tmo updated it's EIP plan to include some accessories so for an additional 6 bucks a month I decided to get the Circle.
I have never had wireless headphones before, and have often been frustrated with wires. Mow a lawn and have one cough in a bush and ripped out of your ear is always fun! I am also a big walker, and music fan so I walk all over the place and always am listening to music. All this needs to be in context to my review.
I was concerned each ear bud would be heavier and stick out farther than I was use to. Would it be a problem when wearing winter hat a hood over that and a scarf around my neck? Would the weight pull the bud out of my ear? I have this odd problem where my ears differ slightly in size and the only reason I know this is that for all my life one side would hold an ear bud nice and snug and the other would always need to be pushed back in every few minutes. I have to say that none of these concerns have been a problem, though the one side does slip from time to time as is normal no matter the weight.
The lack of media controls is also a no issue problem. It is easier to pull my phone out than to dig under tightly wrapped winter head wear to skip a song. Even more so now that I don't have a wire running under a layer up to my ears. That wire was also the only reason I could justify getting a useless smart watch, the wireless headphones have killed any desire for one.
I'm a guitarist that was on and off stage, practices, loud rock and roll.. yada yada yada... also have blasted loud rock and roll into my ears wearing headphones pretty much anywhere and everywhere I went for 20 years. So my hearing isn't great. In that light, these head phones sound as good, if not a little better than the standard stock ear buds Samsung sent with the Note 3. Which were not that bad. One little annoyance is the little "bloop" noise that Samsung has enabled by default every time you touch something. When wearing the Circle and no other audio playing, you would hear the head phones turn on, the bloop, than a millisecond later the headphones turn off. I relate it to old tape player head sets. When you hit play from the start of a tape you would hear that white noise before the first song started. It is only a short time, but so blatantly noticeable. It turns one noise, the bloop, into 3 noises. I did turn off that bloop in a hurry.
The neck brace keeps the hanging part well in place and after a short time you forget it is there. It is a bit awkward and different for me, I am still having to remind myself which way it goes on.
The magnetic clasp is awesome, but I think it is only there for when you are not wearing the neck brace, and as a fancy way for Samsung to tell the phone you are trying to answer a call. It isn't exactly fashionable when clasped and as a male I can tuck it just barely under my shirt. I can't imagine a female showing even the smallest amount of skin would want to wear these long term around her neck.
I have never owned a noise canceling set so it is hard for me to compare. I will say that I can do the dishes with these on and not hear the dishes clanking very well. Well enough to me!
Connecting to my phone was a breeze and I wonder if that is because I have Samsung Touch Wiz or what ever it is called running as my Android OS. That isn't going to last long and I wonder how well The Gear App will work on non touch wiz OS's. I also wonder how the firmware will be updated in the future if needed.
Other things, nit picking now. I don't like that Sammy didn't provide a nice, neater way to charge/store the device when you are not wearing it. Traditional earbuds I could wrap up nice and neat and put in my pocket. Even sitting on my desk they are kinda just curled up and sitting there. For example, the Moto 360 comes with that nice mount/rack that charges it and turns the device into a clock. Why couldn't Sammy run with the magnetic idea and have a little mount that the neck rest part of the Circle, even with the neck brace magnetically snaps into place and starts charging.
I wonder how long the little cover piece over the micro usb charging port is going to stay in place.
What happens when my neck brace breaks? While I'm sure I could google this right now, it is just a concern of mine.
When it is summer and 90+ degrees out and I'm doing yard work. How are the earbuds and neck brace going to handle the sweat?
A side note about charging the device. I got really good with the battery life on my Note 3 and have no doubts I'll have the same manner of success with the 4. Also hoping that those lemon batteries make a note 4 model. This and an On the Go micro usb to standard usb female cable I have should make emergency charging a breeze with out killing my phones battery.
I can't think of anything else. If anyone has questions about the Circle and Note 4 relationship or about the Circle itself please feel free to message me!
Nick
Anyone here experiencing pairing issues with gear circle and host samsung phone? I have a tab S and it does pair to gear Circle and use it as BT headset. Thing is, gear manager cant seem to detect the gear circle, it keeps on connrcting to my gear 2. I tried everything from reinstalling gear manager to force pairing but it still cant detect the circle. Any advise?

Exchange them if you can. I bought a pair that had trouble connecting and the touch volume didn't work. Tried to unsync, resync, nothing. Replaced and made sure to sync only in Gear Manger and never a problem since. But that's my experience.
I only wished noise supression mics. My wife hears the wind under my motorcycle helmet but I had some cheap Quikcell BT that were flawless. Debating about returning but the sound quality is outstanding for me.

My Gear Circle
I started using Gear Circle since three days and I am loving it. I am using it in conjunction Gear S and the whole experience is amazing. The sound is great, compared to other headphones in this range the sound is not that good but yes the functionality it offers is simply amazing. The Gear app is a headache initially but later on when you start using it you will realize that the app is worth the hassles. Overall I will give it an 8/10.
Unfortunately I was not a fan of the Gear Circle. My personal opinion is that if your just using them to make calls or listen to music and you don't do a lot of physical movement than they work fine. Sound quality was great but found that the range compared to other Bluetooth headsets I have was not to great. I work out in the gym alot and also run and having to keep pushing the ear buds back in constantly was a pain. And yes I was using the supplied neck piece. Its also had some issues pairing to my Gear S. Pairing to my Note Edge was fine. So returned them and for now I will continue to use my Rocketfish Bluetooth Stereo headset, which has never failed me and for 50 bucks does everything I need.
I am reviewing a pair of headphones which I was sent for review. I am not employed or been paid by MPOW for this review....

I have used bluetooth in ear headsets before, like the Sony Ericsson MW600's where you can use your choice of earbuds, but has a clip, but never had workout type ones. I have the Sol Republic Tracks Air now and love those and so does my 6 year old lol. Crazy battery life (13hrs!) but not meant for yard work, which I use them for currently. In the past, I have used the Plantronics Pulsar 590(A) and wore those until they literally fell apart.
I understand that bluetooth vs wired entirely. This review is not intended to compare that; just reviewing the unit itself.
Upon opening the small packaging, there were two smaller boxes. One housed the headphones. The other all the accessories like the different sized ear buds and wings. Oh and also a micro usb charging cable. Along with that you get the instruction pamphlet along with some QR codes to follow them on FB or/and Twitter, which I am not really active on Twitter and I do not have a FB account.
One thing I did wish they included was either a guide on how to put them on and which ear wings to generally put them on. I had to research it online and found some reviews on Amazon with included pics on how to orient the wings and how to actually wear the buds. I am sure others that work out or have similar "winged" bluetooth headsets are familiar on the use and wear of it, but I sure was not. Took me a good 15 mins to get it right. Now I am a pro and can put those buds in within a seconds time. Those wings are super comfy once you get you used to them. I have small ears so naturally I installed the smallest earbuds and wings on each side and when I finally figured out the correct way to wear them, it went in like a glove.
One other thing is that because of my old eyes, I couldn't make out which was the right side vs the left side of the headphones. I had to look at the headphones at an angle to tell. Again, it's my eyes. LOL.
Pairing was a breeze to my Nexus 6. And looking at the box besides me, the wings are entirely different. They resemble butterfly wings where on the box still depicts the circle wings.
Charging up, was pretty easy. You have to lift the plug out and plug in a micro usb. Mine charged up pretty fast and turned blue within 15 mins. I turned on to pair and went in without a hitch. You have to unplug before doing the initial pairing, which you need to press the "MPOW" button for 5 seconds to get into the pairing mode, where it blinks red and blue.
My first tunes testing these guys out was the Fast and Furious 7 soundtrack. Tell you initially sounded tinny, but I knew like other headphones, even in ears need some sort of break-in period. When I got home from work, I powered them up and put the music on again. And within about 20 minutes, I could tell the sounds were warming up. The bass was a bit more prevalent and the vocals were a bit more defined. No I am not an audiophile, but I know what "I" like and "I" like, no LOVE to use my V-Moda M100's whenever I can because of the clarity of it all.
Is it bassy? At first nope. But once you warm it up and start listening to songs you will find that the bass will warm up and feel pretty good actually. I was impressed on how much these bluetooth in ears produced. No it's nothing like beats or even my BT Sol Republics Tracks Air, but we are talking about tiny drivers here compared to those. And the audio does not disappoint.
Fast forward an hour after the soundtrack has finished. I then opted over to the Google Play Music to try the free radio service (with ads of course). This time I went with female vocals; Jessie J's recent album. Again, I was greeted with warm vocals with matching bass. Not too much bass, It's like the MPOWs know their limits. No fuzzies and no real noise to speak of. However, I did find disconnects whenever I was at my kitchen sink. I am not sure why. Initially, I thought I was too far away from my phone, but I was able to head over to my garage without an issue. I also have a LG G Watch R and that is still connected. to the same phone, so I don't know why it starts skipping and disconnects only at the sink with the water running.
Now to the battery...the packaging says about 5 hours and I can say I went three straight the first day and today went about one. There is a tone indicator to let me know if it runs low, but I didn't meet it yet.
The buttons are kind of difficult to get to at first. They are all on the right ear piece. The volume up/down and the "MPOW" button that you used before to pair the phone is also the answer/end/mute/play/pause button/on indicator. The volume rocker buttons also have multiple functions as well. They are used for skipping through tracks by either long or short pressing it. And the volume is device specific. Meaning it has it's own level and not tied to the phone. I have not taken or made a call with it on yet. I'll try that tomorrow.
Now wearing it for the second day, it is very easy to put on and to take out, it takes a little practice to take out without pulling on your ear lobe lol. Other than including a fit and use guide for newbies, I would have loved to have a carrying case or pouch to put them away. I have a bag full of different cords and either a cord manager at the very least would have been a welcomed accessory. I personally use a old Oakley glasses bag to carry them up and cinch up the top to close. Well, you can only fit so much in that small tiny box I guess!
Pros:
Pretty small
Light weight
Sound is clear
Sound isolation is pretty good (didn't even hear the wife come into the house and didn't hear her talking to me lol)
Easy to put on and off once you get accustomed to the process.
You can wear glasses with these!
Different ear buds and wings to best fit ones ears.
Range is pretty good
Auto-connects upon powering up
Available in different colors
and Comfy once you get used to the winged inserts.
Cons:
Interference when washing dishes or at the kitchen sink
No guide or a piece of paper to guide on how to wear the MPOW.
No carrying case/pouch
Bottom line, do I recommend these? For $30 bux (Amazon) http://www.amazon.com/Headphones-Mpow-High-fidelity-Smartphones-Fluorescence/dp/B00NZTHGN2/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1436331296&sr=1-1&keywords=mpow ;
I can't say no it's now worth it. The wings alone that keep the buds in when working out or doing yard work is a great feature. I can't tell you how many times I knock my Sol Republic Track Airs off my head lol.
Any questions please ask!
Now for the pics!

I've had different type of issues but related to being on Android 7.0 Previews and were worked out in future previews. Have you tried different music players on the phone?

Bottom line, do I recommend these? For $30 bux (Amazon) http://www.amazon.com/Headphones-Mpow-High-fidelity-Smartphones-Fluorescence/dp/B00NZTHGN2/ref=sr_1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1436331296&sr=1-1&keywords=mpow ;
I can't say no it's now worth it. The wings alone that keep the buds in when working out or doing yard work is a great feature. I can't tell you how many times I knock my Sol Republic Track Airs off my head lol.
Any questions please ask!
Now for the pics!

Do these ear buds completely block outside sounds, or can they be used while driving?

No they aren't Bose so no nothing like that. They do block a lot of the outside noise though. I have never used headphones while driving so I cannot say if it can be used that way.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
I have an issue with mine.
When I turn them on and try to pair them, the light doesnt flash red and blue, it stays purple.
Also the voice which says "Power on" and "Power off" doesnt sound right.
