When giving theme to people then you must package in a more normall fashion. adb pushing is a method used when developing the theme

3 Options to install.
First step: Extract downloaded .zip file to reveal "bootanimation.zip"
1. ADB
Navigate to the folder containing "bootanimation.zip" in terminal/command prompt.
Type the following
Code:
adb push bootanimation.zip /Data/Local
Then to test, set your device so display is in landscape (will not display properly if you have it on portrait and test it but will display fine either way on boot)
Code:
adb shell bootanimation
2. Root Explorer
Copy "bootanimation.zip" to your SD card
On your Streak open up Root Explorer (or any other app that allows you to copy paste to the internal memory)
Copy "bootanimation.zip" and paste it to /Data/Local
3. Terminal Emulator
thanks nickshertzer, his directions are for drop box but can easily be manipulated for simply copying the bootanimation.zip to your SDcard
nickshertzer said:
BTW, if you don't have / want to get out that sync cable for ADB, use dropbox & Terminal Emulator. Make sure you download the .zip using dropbox longpress first before running following command (requires Busybox / can't remember if it is installed default on Steve's ROM)
Code:
su
cp /sdcard/dropbox/bootanimation.zip /data/local/
reboot

Enjoy
Installed the red one with option #2. Looks and runs great on DJ Steve's 1.6.0.
Thanks fone_fanatic!
Nice work will give it a try.
Its nice to change the boot now and then thanks
Thank You - Very Nice
@ fone_fanatic
If you have the time, would it be possible for you to combine the first 1/2 of your Bios animation with this Scribble animation?
Thanks for your consideration!
bk
These are great! Thank you so much for sharing!
Really would be cool to write up an app that randomized the bootanimation.zip so you never know what you'll see on next boot...

Is there anyway you could make a version of this boot w/o the flare that is oriented for booting in landscape mode or is there a way to do this??
I love the animation, but i always hold my streak on it's side.

I know it's been mentioned before, but I'd really like to get a download of this in landscape optimized for the Streak. (the no-flare version, specifically...) If you get the time, could you rotate the images real quick and post it? Either way, this is a great boot animation!
If you can make one with a white light that would be awesome.
I am trying to compile any goodies to compliment my white streak.
Thanks in advance.
so you don't need to extract out the zip info?
you just need to place the file as a zip into Data/Local?
Am I reading the below correctly?
2. Root Explorer
Copy "bootanimation.zip" to your SD card
On your Streak open up Root Explorer (or any other app that allows you to copy paste to the internal memory)
Copy "bootanimation.zip" and paste it to /Data/Local
awesome thanks so much I will try it now
Very slick and a nice change. Thanks.

Thanks to yatin kumar for the idea.
For installation: For those who have little experience with adb can do so by placing the bootanimation.zip with Root Explorer at the root of the sdcard and then copying and replacing it in the path "System / media / " pressing Mount R / W, then copying it again and paste it in the path "/ data / local /" again by pressing Mount R / W and reboot the pda.
To install by adb by armude
adb remount
adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media/bootanimation.zip
adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local/bootanimation.zip
adb rebootif you still try to change thisadb remount
adb shell rm /system/media/bootanimation.zip

su [enter]
cd /sdcard [enter]
ls[enter][to list all files, you should see bootsnd.sh]
sh bootsnd.sh [enter]Everything Went well if we will return #
Thanks to @teh roxxorz .This is the original post
Then do as the bootanimation.zip but android_audio.mp3(decompress android_audio.mp3.zip)
adb remount
adb push android_sound.mp3 /system/media/android_audio.mp3
adb push android_sound.mp3 /data/local/android_audio.mp3

transparent notification menu

Hello yo'all
I've searched many times to make my notification pull-down menu transparent, and I've finally managed to get it work. I know that there are lots of themes that do so, but I've choosen to modify the files myself. And I know that there are already tutorials, but I couldn't find one that works with CyanogenMod 7. So here is how I did it (and TBH, it is bloody easy).
screen cap: first image is without the notification drawer, the second is the notification drawer halfway the screen and the third one is the notification drawer totally expanded.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Note that I assume you already know the basics on how to work with adb.
Two things most be done to get the background of the notification menu transparent:
1. You must make the background file transparent
2. If necessarily, you must adapt StatusBarService.smali
PART 1: MAKE THE RIGHT FILE TRANSPARENT
Step 1: get SystemUI.apk on your computer
adb pull system/app/SystemUI.apk
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Step 2: modify/replace shade_bg.png
Open SystemUI.apk in winzip, winrar or 7zip or wathever. WARNING: DO NOT EXTRACT THE APK!
browse to res\drawable-mdpi and look for "shade-bg.png". Copy it manualy out of the apk.
Edit the image with photoshop or gimp or wathever to make it transparent. Save you transparent file as shade-bg.png
Take your new image and put in manualy in the res\drawable-mdpi of the apk, so that it will replace the old one. When asked, choose for "no compression" (like store).
Step 3: put SystemUI.apk back on your phone
Reboot into recovery
go to "mounts an storages"
select "mount /system"
you can now push your new SystemUI.apk to your phone. I always make a backup, for in case I cause a bootloop or something:
adb shell
cd system/app
mv SystemUI.apk SystemUI.bak
exit
adb push SystemUI.apk system/app
adb reboot
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Your phone should reboot now, and normally you should have your transparent lockscreen. If that isn't the case, you have to adjust StatusBarService.smali
PART TWO: ADJUSTING StatusBarService.smali
Step 1: get SystemUI.apk and framework-res.apk on your computer
adb pull system/framework/framework-res.apk
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
So now framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk (with the transparent image) are in the same directory.
Step 2: decompile systemUI.apk
Download apktool from the attachment and extract it in the same folder as where framework-res and SystemUI are located.
open the command line and browse to that same directory
install your framework by typing:
apktool if framework-res.apk
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Decompile SystemUI.apk by typing:
apktool decode SystemUI.apk
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
You will notice that you now have a folder called "SystemUI".
browse to SystemUI/smali/com/android/systemui/statusbar and open StatusBarService.smali in, for example, notepad++.
Search for the line
invoke-direct/range {v0 .. v5}, Landroid/view/WindowManager$LayoutParams;-><init>(IIIII)V
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Right above that line you can read
const/4 v5, 0x2
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
That should be changed to
const/4 v5, -0x3
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Save the file.
go back to the folder where you have apktool etc. Rename SystemUI.apk to SystemUI-original.apk.
Open the command line and type
apktool b -f SystemUI SystemUI.apk
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
You will now have your SystemUI.apk
Step 3: put SystemUI.apk back on your phone
Reboot into recovery
go to "mounts an storages"
select "mount /system"
you can now push your new SystemUI.apk to your phone. I always make a backup, for in case I cause a bootloop or something:
adb shell
cd system/app
mv SystemUI.apk SystemUI.bak
exit
adb push SystemUI.apk system/app
adb reboot
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
That's all. Hope I can make someone happy with this
Cool Good job

Hey try this one
1. open settings/applications/manageapplications in your phone
2. then select font installer.
3. now clear data and uninstall that
4. now reboot.
5. now try instructions as in first post(updated)
After that report me
why not do the easy way...
1. download and install Font Changer.
2. extract any ttf fonts to the directory that is required for Font Changer to apply.
3. open Font Changer, select font and apply. reboot. done.
easy.
