Hey guys, I rooted my moms Nook Tablet and I am having trouble installing an app for her. Its called draw something, I was able to find the apk online and install it because I couldn't find it in the market. It installed fine but when I went to update it, it said that it was not compatible with the device. I am not sure why this is happening as I know there is both a tablet and cell phone version of the app. Any ideas as to why I can't update it?

I would guess for the same reason it won't install from the market. Like many apps, it will install as a sideload, but if you try to update it, it will show as not compatible. Your best bet would be to find the latest version and install it the same way.
If you wish, Nook Tablet running CM7.1.a showed as compatible for me.

Is it possible to spoof another device on the nook tablet? I have read about modifying the build.prop file to trick the market, but I am not sure if this will work on the nook tablet, can anyone confirm that it works? Also what would be a good device to spoof as I was thinking about doing the A500.
Yes, you can spoof other devices. Here you go.
This is possible and it does work. Here is the link:

Hi I just purchased a Huawei honor 3 and well the stock software is awful and does not come with google play. It also seems to stop my from trying to install all of the cool fun apps that are avaiable to neraly everyone else running the android OS.
I am trying to gain root access in order to fix some of the above problems. Below is what is currently on my phone.
Model-Hn3-u01
android version- 4.2.2
kernel version- 3.0.8-00837-g1a17e12,[email protected]#1
Build number- Hn3-u01v100r001chnc00b115
I have tried using the search function but I have not found much information on how to root this phone.
If anyone could help guide me, that would be great. If any more information is required to give me a accurate answer please let me know and I will do my best to provide it. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Hi, you can side load the google play apk.
I just installed the google play apk (google search for "google play apk" and pick a result you feel comfortable with).
In the settings tick the "security" > tick "unknown sources
copy the downloaded apk to the device.
use the file manager app to locate it and install.
You dont need root to do this.
I had recently purchased a Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 and its been going good so far. I had wanted to download some apps like Imo and Sype and Youtube which do not work or cAnnot be downloaded. So can anyone help me install these apps. I followed a previous guide on XDA and downloaded and followed the steps but it didn't work out. Can anyone help me do this without rooting the tAblet. And if I have to root can anyone post a good guide to follow?

Try installing 1Mobile market which hosts many of the free apps in the Play store. I know YouTube works; haven't tried IMO and Skype. You'll need to allow apps to be sideloaded in Kindle settings. Make sure you have the authentic version when searching 1Mobile; it will be clearly marked as such. There are lots of shady knockoffs with similar names in 1Mobile.
Rooting is an adventure on HDX tablets with different approaches depending on what firmware level you are currently running. At present the most recent version of Fire OS (14.4.5.3) can not be rooted but earlier versions can with varying degrees of effort/risk. You should probably read through some of the forums/threads first if you opt to go that direction.
Good luck!
Hello, XDA!
As the title says, I'm looking for a way to root this device and possibly upgrade it to 4.4 (or 4.2 at least) since it is stuck on 4.0.3 and that is limiting my app support.
So far, I've been trying a few "click to root" apps, but to no avail. Searching more on XDA, I found a thread about a similar device, but the tutorial doesn't seem to be clear/finished, and I'm worried about breaking my device since not many have tested that.
Is there any hope for this tablet?
Thank you very much!
