I'm sure that a lot of you know this already, and also that most of you enjoy the Sense 3.0 lockscreen. However, in case any of you wanted the simplicity of the AOSP lockscreen, here is a simple way to do it. With the Evo 4G it was the same way, but you needed to use the AOSP clock for the alarm to function properly. So far I've had no issues with it here, I'm able to unlock the screen and click dismiss, and the alarm turns off. So I've had no problems using it yet. If you have a screen lock or whatever, you'll need to enter it to unlock before being able to dismiss. That is good, to ensure you're really awake, lol.
Using Root Explorer or any other root level file manager, such as ES File Explorer, navigate to the /system/app folder. Scroll down to HtcLockScreen.apk, and rename it to HtcLockScreen.bak (I prefer to rename change the file extension to .bak so the app disables, in case I choose to go back to it, it's as simple as changing it back to .apk and rebooting). Once the HTC lockscreen is disabled, you're left with the stock AOSP lockscreen, which is there all along. Don't forget to make sure Root Explorer is mounted as R/W before doing that. Once done, reboot. You should then have the AOSP lockscreen.
EDIT: And btw, I'm currently not using the Rosie launcher. I'm using the stock gingerbread launcher, so I'm unsure if or how this will affect using Rosie. Report back if there are any problems with that, so others know. Thanks.

Awesome. As cool as the animated weather lockscreen is I think that whole ring thing is just stupid. It's ugly and not very intuitive. Not to mention it is not smooth at all.
But I gotta ask, how do you use the stock GB launcher? I've tried but the app drawer is always in oriented wrong...

I'm using the launcher from the Supra rim thread. He has an apk attached. I haven't had ant issues with it. The apologize drawer doesn't have that "rounded scroll " effect when you scroll it, if that's what you mean. Otherwise it works great.

I think the sense 3.0 lock screen is great. Once u customize your shortcuts it's fantastic

I thought so too at first. But a month and change in (for the most part) and I found that I almost never used those shortcuts. I'm talkin' single digits here...perhaps countable on one hand....the weather is really cool, but, that ring...I'm all like "what?" But, as usual around here, to each his own.
Thank god for the stock lock screen...thanks OP

It is a good lock screen. But either way it's always best to have options.
I'm now trying to switch to the AOSP lockscreen. Works fine when I rename the htclockscreen.apk file but... I'd sure like a way to turn off the menu button which completely defeats the entire lock system. Reason I want to switch is that HTC still doesn't know how to make a lock screen that doesn't constantly pocket answer. Sense 3.0 is no better. So the AOSP lockscreen would do the job: if I could disable the menu button so that pressing menu does nothing (like it should). Anyone know how to disable the menu button on the lockscreen? Would also be nice to turn off the haptic garbage when sliding the slider too.
Any info? I found a flash for the Evo 4G that disables the menu button on the lockscreen but it involved replacing a .jar file in the framework folder. I'm thinking an Evo 4G file in there would probably not be compatible with the Evo 3D so we probably need our own file, right?
Thanks,
Mike
Hell yeah. Just what I've been looking for. Thanks. Works great!
is there any way to do the opposite?
use aosp throughout the whole rom
but have the htcsenselockring?
sorry if it had already been asked.
Guess I'm stuck with the HTC lockscreen answering in my pocket. You lose too much using the AOSP lockscreen:
(1) Caller ID on lockscreen: have to unlock to see who is calling and after that, there's no way to relock before you put it back in your pocket: pressing the power button disconnects the call. Smart!
(2) Menu button completely overrides the lock. Again... SMART!
(3) Idiotic haptic feedback while sliding the lock.
Just wish HTC would do it right. All they'd have to do is offer a side to side or different type of unlock as an option. Screen Suite actually works pretty well but you have two choices of a lock slider: iPhone (don't get me started) and a stupid cartoony spaceship that looks completely ghey. Sigh... this should be SIMPLE!

There is a ROM that has that, it has the sense lock screen but an ASOP look. Sadly I forgot which one it was since I flash like every other day.
Edit: Its Project ROM.
The easiest way to get the AOSP lockscreen instead of Sense imo is just go into Titanium Backup, go to Backup/Restore tab, scroll down to HTC Lockscreen(not sure of the name of the actual app but it is obvious and has HTC Lockscreen in the name), uninstall it and then reboot your phone and you will have AOSP lockscreen.
I used this method but now when my screen is off and I receive a call, I have to unlock the screen, but it only displays the red end button as if I am already in a call. It does not allow me to answer the call. Any remedy to this? Thanks

Is there anyway to remove the sense lockscreen but still use the face unlock. I like using the face unlock, but more so as a quick unlock rather than a security measure. Unlocking with the ring and doing the face unlock seems like too much to me.
I'd like to know this as well
Its cumbersome!

Generally if you remove or rename lockscreen.apk, it reverts to Aosp style lockscreen. Sliding left to right unlock
App in playstore removes lockscreen, but also bypasses faceunlock too, dang
Google + pertinent info = results
So nobody has found a way to make this happen? Google hasn't pulled up anything useful

Hey everyone. My music library lacks decent album arts, and I was wondering if there is any way of getting rid of the full screen album art on the lockscreen and instead just having my regular wallpaper? Thanks in advance.
I was wondering the same thing.

I too want to get rid of this feature.
I join this club, too.
What a hopelessly stupid thing of Google to not give an option to disable it... It ruins my podcast listening on the go and makes the lockscreen useless on bright album arts!
I agree
One of the big positives of Android over iPhone is that it allows free thinking and users to have what they want, not like Apple who say 'this is how it is - we are right!'. BUT things like this (plus the annoying volume warning every reboot) are going back on that whole philosophy of telling us how we have to have / do things. Rant over, but seriously not happy with this one ! I'm keen on a solution, alternative lock screens don't quite do it as when unlock then revert to standard android security for verification, so pain to unlock.

It is possible with poweramp music player.
I think I found kind of a solution, but I am not completely sure because at the moment I am still on Android 4.3.1.
Try installing Cover lock screen. Apart from being the only useful lockscreen replacement I've ever seen, apparently it also has its own music controls (on KitKat only).

Cover does not allow you to lock your device through a pattern or code.
The best workaround I found was to use Smart App Lock. It can be configured to replace the default lock screen, it doesnt add anything extra to the lock screen, and it does not show album art in the background.
I finally found THE solution.
Step 1: Install Xposed framework.
Step 2: Install Audio Privacy module.
Step 3: Disable Album Art in the module.
There. The community fixed it for you, Google.
Just thought I'd point out that the Xposed module "Unlock effect before security code" designed for the S4 works nicely on the S5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2404036
Make sure you turn off security on the lock screen first, set the effect and then turn security (pattern etc) back on.
Cheering :good:
Works with fingerprint scanner
Dude, this was exactly the thing I was searching for since my previous phone is a S3 Mini which could do this out of the box. Now I've got my favourite lockscreen security = fingerprint and my favourite unlock effect = ripple This thread should be GOLD xD Thanks for sharing
Only works on KK though since Lollipop doesn't have Xposed support yet!

That's one of the reasons I don't want to update to Lollipop, the other being that most mods here are for KitKat.
I just got my Mate 10 pro 2 Days back and I upgraded from Samsung Note 4.
1 Feature of Note was that the Playlist was available even when phone was locked. I fail to find similar Option in Mate 10 Pro with default Music App.
Am I Missing something or it isn't available ?
Please Guide with alternatives and I wouldn't want to root my phone.
And If root is necessary Please guide as well. I am not a tech Retard so I wont take much time. Just first Huawei phone.

There is a Magazine Unlock Option in Settings.
That has further three options:
1. Subscriptions
2. Auto Update over Wifi (Enabled)
3. Auto Delete Images older than 3.
In themes I dont see anything Magazine related.

The Player is there, I can change songs. But I am changing songs 1 song at a time.
In Note 4, I had the option of going through the entire playlist that was running.
