Title says it all. If pc hangs while flashing a rom, can it brick the phone?
Sent from my GT-S5830 using XDA Premium App
No it will not brick, as long as you can boot to download mode. Only way to brick is flashing incompatible bootloader or when you flash the recovery from a different phone.
This is discussed before btw.

Ok thanks. Sorry i didnt see another thread like these.

just to reassure you I pulled by phone usb jack halfway through flashing system. Booted to download mode again and flashed normally, no problems.
Ok then. Its a relieve for me. Since my pc is not high end and it hangs sometimes. I have two laptops though.

I'm looking at upgrading to a newer phone next month and I was wondering if there was a ROM out there that didn't have the phone portion set in. I want my phone to be like a iPod so my kids can play with it.

I think if you were to freeze phone specific things it couldn't harm anything, but I recommend you go to froyo then do it, for the sake of battery or you could just put it in airplane mode then hide the phone related apps I'm sure that would disable 911 too

I have what you need, let me remove the phone short cut from the launcher and I can get you into a rom set up as nothing but a media player.
Should have around 50 megs footprint.
Let me know if interested.
Edit: I'll put it together and post it for everyone, tonight hopefully.

Hi guys I news help,
I installed AOKP Build 37 on my GSM HTC EVO 3D, as usual I did a full wipe for my data flashed the ROM then the GApps, removed the battery so I can go to fastboot and flash the Boot.IMG from my PC.
so here is the problem after I removed the battery the phone I couldn't open my phone and it had around 70% of charge. So I put my phone to charge it I put it for around 27 hours I try to turn it on nothing happens.
WHAT SHOULD I DO I NEED HELP ASAP.
I CANT OPEN MY PHONE.
Thanks.

U apparently flashed the wrong img File
Sent from my Sensation With beats Audio
I didn't flash the .IMG file I simply removed the battery to access the fastboot to flash the .IMG file but from that moment it did not work.
Any ideas thanks.

If its a bright light then it seems your not bricked and have the possibility to fix your phone.
What i would first do is try the command i gave you when you do have access to fastboot/adb
Okay, the problem is I can't access my bootloader if I did I would return to my stock or flashed the boot.IMG that's why I'm asking is there a way to turn on my phone or to access my bootloader in my case
Sent from my GT-P7500 using XDA Premium HD app
maybe the problem is in battery, can you find another to try, just to be sure...

I know that. And thats what im trying to tell you.
The command
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
will make your phone go into your bootloader without using the power + Volu down buttons.
but your saying you dont have access to the fastboot or adb files?
I actually thought of that but unfortunately I don't have any extra batteries but I will buy when today.
Just in case the problem wasn't with the battery what should I do??????

Maybe I did leave it on, attempting to root this thing I don't know maybe. If I did could that be it? And if not could that be as well?

Yes I have rebooted only for this image to appear now (see pic). If anyone in this community can explain what this even means I would be forever thankful.
foolish mistake
Yes it turns out I did not have debug mode on when attempting to root with superclick. So now what do I do? see 2nd pic to see what I mean.
