So am I correct in assuming that Facebook Sync does not work with our Gingerbread 2.3.3 (GSB & Ginger Tazz) just as it does not on the Nexus phones?
If you are referring to the HTC facebook linking and stuff, then no. But you can sync all your contacts from Facebook and put them in your contacts with their pictures.

and how would I do that? I've tried a few things but it just doesn't seem to be syncing everything... I have facebook set up in Accounts and everything but it still isn't syncing all contacts...

That would be incorrect. It works just fine on my phone. FWIW, it does work fine with the official build of the Nexus S, but the official build of the Nexus One had Facebook contact sync revoked by Google. I don't know the status of AOSP 2.3.3, but it's working fine on GSB 1.9/CM7 RC1/2.3.3.

Well, I should say that my GSB 1.9 build was flashed over 1.8, which was flashed over a fresh install of 1.7. If you cannot get Facebook contact sync to work in 1.9, I suppose one thing to try is to fresh install an older version of GSB (say, 1.7), get everything set up on there (I'd do Facebook first, to make sure that contact sync is working for you) and the flash over with 1.9 and gapps.
My only issue with FB contact sync is that I have manually join some contacts with my existing gmail contacts after a fresh install. FWIW, HTC's facebook contact sync was always much smarter about this.

I did the unforgivable - never did before. I backed up my system's App data from GSB 1.9 and restored it to GingerTazz 11. It actually works quite well. I only have two quirks, Flow keeps FCing and I can use the Facebook app but not add it to the sync list.
I definitely could before.
I'm going to do a fresh install now that I have more time so I anticipate both of these to go away.

Had sorta the same thing coming from GSB v1.9-GSB v2.0. I had to uninstall Facebook then reinstall from market. Everything works great now!

The thing is whenever Google released GB 2.3.3 the Facebook contact sync was supposed to be disabled. So when Shed and Tazz compiled there source that feature should not be there. This is only in GSB 2.0 and Tazz's v12 because they are 2.3.3. Anything previous to these versions still should sync with no problems. Now with that said, I have noticed that the sync is still working for me in GSB 2.0. Although it may be hit and miss for others. My advise would be to NOT to update Facebook until this gets fixed and all the bugs get worked out. The problems is not with the phone or the roms. Its with Google and Facebook.

So just tried the new Adam email client on my Nook running Honeycomb and it worked fine. A lot of the bugs from the first version have been sorted out - it now links to your contacts and seems to download files.
Just place the apk in your system//app directory
I will test out the other programs, but so far:
- the calendar seems to still force close when adding a new appointment.
Finally! Installs fine and runs on decent speed on CM7. This could be the email app I've been waiting for

Yep, that should work. You might try renaming the original first - just in case!
Anyone know how to get this working with a Yahoo mail account?

Hey smiley,
Possibly my labling. This email is from Firmware for adam 1.5. They have updated the app, but the version still appears to be 0.9! You should see a massive improvement in its performance.

How do U install it guys?Dont U have system replace error?
Kind like the old icon better, is there a way to get the icon back. Updated from Phiremod 6.3.
It works for me. v0.9
Like dsf3g asked. Any ideas on how to set up Yahoo or Hotmail?
Also, how can you delete an account from the app, because i now get mail from both this and the Gmail app.
Don't want to uninstall the Gmail app but i just might have to.

Under the main Settings for the Nook, in Accounts & Sync, disable Gmail sync. That'll let you use this app instead of Gmail without having to uninstall anything.
Not sure how to remove an account from Mail'd though. Hope that helps.

How well does mail'd handle labels and archiving in gmail, as compared to the gmail app itself?

Much better IMO. The Gmail app I find looks too cluttered, and because this has a metro layout it works and looks much better.
Awesome! This version seems much cleaner than the old version.
Why does it look the same to me concerning the look?

this won't load up my exchange account.. i really wish it did though.
it consistently makes me fill out outgoing, SMTP info which... there is no smtp with exchange.
woof
Jewnersey,
make the smtp server the same as the incoming server. At least that's what worked for me.
Just installed Cyanogen along with google apps. I was under the impression that once google is installed, my contacts would be imported automatically once I entered my email. That's not the case though and for the life of me I can't seem to import them at all.
What am I missing here?

Unfortunately not. Since the Vibrant I guess I stupidly assumed all roms would sync automatically.
Any ideas? Is it supposed to sync automatically with google installed? Just trying to figure it out.

Yes, definitely. My contacts are permanently on google within my gmail account.
I've since had to flash back to an older rom as I had to go out and needed my contacts on there. From what I saw though I'd absolutely love to go back to CM7 asap (it's beautiful) so I really want to find a solution to this. Cause while I can now back up my contacts on my sim or vcard then put them on CM7, what's gonna happen when I'm constantly adding new names (which I do daily)? I don't want to have to manually keep backing my contacts up.
Isn't google apps supposed to take care of that on CM7? I'm just thinking that something is off with my setup. Surely CM7 is supposed to constantly sync your contacts (like all other roms) once google apps is installed, no?
Edit: I got it sorted out. Google apps wasn't installing properly before. It works perfectly now.
Has anyone else noticed that Google has recinded their facebook syncing capabilities with the Photon 4G?? I had to do a data wipe on my phone and realized that even though I logged into my Facebook account, it will not let me join Facebook contacts with my Google contacts.
If I am mistaken that they have done this or if I am missing something (which I doubt) please let me know. Thank you.
I don't know if they killed facebook syncing but it does take a long time sometimes. I just wiped my phone too and going through the rebuilding process...
Unfortunately, when I try to add my LinkedIn account, I get "An internal error has occurred, please try again". I've tried numerous times (with the correct login info) and still no luck. GRRH!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The feature has to b supported by the rom its self for it to work. Facebook no longer supports contact sync for ics.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
As said in the previous post Facebook no longer supports syncing for ICS. Som roms have a hack built in that let it sync anyway though. If it is not working for you I would suggest the apps FriendCaster or haxsync(Free and paid respectivley) I tried both of these on my girlfriends phone after her Nexsus S got the updatem and while she did like the FriendCaster she likes haxsync way better
Hello.
Since this morning I started to experience a strange issue. It seems like my gmail is synced only one way.
I have Nexus 5 running Cyanogenmod 11 M3, Android 4.4.2.
If there is a new email sent to my gmail account, I get proper notification and I see the mail. I then go and delete that email (or mark it as read). My inbox does not have this email anymore. I refresh the mail, make sure everything is synced. Now if I open web gui of gmail on my computer, I still see that email there unread. If I go back to phone gmail, I don't see that email in my Inbox (or sometimes I do), but I can see it in priority mail box or under "all mail". It seems that whatever change I do on phone client is not properly synced back to server.
The same issue manifests also on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus, running CM 10.2. It does not happen on my very old HTC Desire Z, running CM4.
I have not changed anything, it started to happen this morning. Any change done through computer web client is synced correctly. I have no idea what is going on. Does Gmail service have some issue? Anyone else experiencing it?
Thanks.
I think the first thing to clarify is whether or not you're using the native GMail app or have set up GMail through and alternative e-mail app (i.e.: Enhanced E-mail).

The camera issue is among known problems with CM11 and since CM11 stable was not released yet, it is ok. I am sure that stable version will have this problem resolved.
Clear data for gmail. Settings > Apps > Gmail. You will not lose any settings, it will just delete your email from the phone and re-sync.
