[Q] Booting to xrecovery doesn't work - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

i've rooted my x10 mini with SuperOneClick, but i couldnt find busybox on the market.
It says my phone is incompatible. On this forum i found one could use the busybox version included in 'titanium backup'. I installed this app.
To check if my phone was rooted and busybox correctly installed i downloaded 'root check'. Answers were positive.
Then i installed xrecovery0.3.
I restarted the phone, pressing the back button as soon as the white se logo appeared. But i couldnt manage to get in xrecovery. I tried several times. I uninstalled xrecovery and found another version here built for the mini (this one). But again it didn't work.
Can anyone help me out?
E10i
Build-number 2.1.1.A.0.6
firmware 2.1-update1
Kernel version 2.6.29
Android 2.1

Any help, tips would be greatly appreciated

Have you copied the files in correct folder (system\bin)? Have you set the permissions of al three files?
bye

Yes, i checked, i double checked.
I was fed up, so i plugged the phone to seus again, clean install.
Did the same steps again and now it works like a charm.

[SOLVED] Downgrading U20a 2.1 to 1.6

I'm looking to downgrade my Xperia mini pro (U20a) from 2.1 to 1.6 because I've exhausted all options in rooting.
Firmware: 2.1.
Kernel: 2.6.29
Build: 2.0.1.A.0.47
First I tried rooting using the exploid method but failed when I had to run rootshell (even with admin I don't have permission). Many others were experiencing problems at this point and I believe it has to do with the newer builds being incompatible with this method.
Second, I tried rooting using the SuperOne Click method but failed during the "Starting ADB Server/Waiting for Devices" part. The program crashes on any instance of Windows and I attempted the proposed solutions involving turning on/off debugging or unplugging USB.
Third, I was going to attempt the z4root method but I can't even side load it because that requires a file manager and I can't download anything from the Android market. I researched this problem and it seems that very many Android users are plagued by this problem. Tried everything to resolve it but nothing works. For example, I attempt to download AndExplorer but a few seconds later in the notifications menu it says "AndExplorer Download was unsucessful, please try again."
I'm under the impression that if I downgrade to 1.6, root, and then update to 2.1 Generic 2.0.2.A.0.24 [root preinstalled] things will be alright. However, I'm having a difficult time starting the process.

As well as this thread providing the ROMs:

However, all those pertain to X10a/i. Any insight to this process involving U20a/i would be much appreciated! Thank you.

Hello Major(SWE)! (Are you swedish)?
You may have the mounting bug? Connect the phone and choose charge battery first and then pull down the notification window and pick the USB button to mount the device.
Or you may need to install SEUS or PC companion again, in order for the USB-drivers to work.
Second - You can try to clear the cache and unistall the market update - try this first in order to get hold of z4root or some file managers.
Then I wonder why you read about X10? When the correct link for Bin4arys flashtool and Xperia Mini Pro for flashing a Nordic 2.1 ROM is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=826455
And here is the list for build.prop: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=743800
Ps. why you have a u20a if you live in Sweden?
I'm going to see if it may be a usb driver or mounting issue that's preventing root. I've tried caching, uninstalling the market update, and factory reset to get the Market app to download file managers so I can side load but like so many others with that problem it didn't work. I'll research this further because if it becomes functional again I can use z4root, which seems to work for most.
Apparently the root issues with recent updates has been solved according to a post over at Xperia blog.
If all these options fail I'll turn to flashing. Much appreciated!
P.s. Jag är svensk fast har bot i USA i åtta år nu..farsan jobbar för Ericsson också lol!

Help Plz! Wrong Firmware in my x10 mini!! heeelp!!

Hi everyone
I really need your help guys, I'm desperate!! I wanted to upadate my x10 mini to froyobread following all the instructions.
1. I rooted the phone with SuperOneClick
2. I flashed it using FlashTool, and here is the problem: I used a different firmware (e15i_2.1.1.a.0.6_Nordic) <--- That's the firmware for Xperia X8. The flashing was succesful, but when it finished, the phone started rebooting over and over with only a blackscreen (no SE logo).
I've tried many ways to restore the phone, such as:
1- FlashTool with a firmware for x10 mini (The problem is I need to check "USB Debugging" inside the O.S., so I couldn't repair it this way.
2- I tried PC Companion and SEUS but when I follow the program steps it says "Your phone is up to date so no needs bla bla bla..."
I don't know what else to do... I'm frustrated and really hope you can help me guys.
Thank'u
SOLVED:
Finally I fixed the problem flashing with x10flash and 1.6 android firmware (it's called "E10i_1.6 1.2.A.1.174 406.7z"). (x10flash isn't the same as Flashtool, so if you wanna recover to life your phone, you must use x10flash)
I put the rar files of the firmware 1.6 inside the "firmware" folder from "X10Flash-2.1" and then I flashed with the X10flash.bat file.
After that, when te x10flash.bat was opened, I select number "2" and then "N". Next, you have to select your operative system. (win xp, vista, 7, etc)
Finally, you can install the rom or baseband whatever you want.
(I can't put the links 'cos I'm a new member, but you can google them)
- E10i_1.6 1.2.A.1.174 406.7z
- x10Flash
I hope this helps.
Do you still have that files? I am unable to download that files . I have googled them but links have expired.
Thanks.

[Q] Bootloop ??

I think my X10 Mini Pro is stuck in a boot loop, it just shows the CM logo and freezes.
What I did to get this was:
Updated from 1.6 - 2.1 via SE PC Companion (2.1.1 A.0.6)
SuperOneClicked it and got it rooted, with Superadmin etc
Installed xRecovery (was working fine)
Loaded a ROM for the X10 Mini and not the Pro (Did not know there was a difference - no warning on the ROM page by the creator), and installed the ROM zip via xRecovery, which just stays in a boot loop and never starts, most of the time it just freezes and I have to pull out the battery.
So I went searching and found this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1040149
which lead me here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=826455
So I downloaded Flashtools and the UK firmware (dyzzel)
Place the content of the firmware zip (and the zip itself, as I didnt know to extract or not) in the firmware folder of flashtools, then opened flashtools (2.8 and 2.9) click flash, where it asks me to find the firmwares but the browser doesnt show any files Ive put in that folder.
Thats as far as Ive got, need some help as Im cracking up.
Fixed now. SEUS.

[Q] Recovery

Guys, hi.
I'm beat, I admit it, the jig is up and I'm all out. I've done every possible thing to my phone and nothing helps.
I want to flash CWM7, right? I have the stock 2.1 and working root (that I know for sure). I also have Flashtool and Android SDK on my computer.
What I DON'T have, however, is a way to get into recovery and from there flash ROMs. CWM Recovery doesn't exist for my phone (Xperia X10 Mini Pro), so I got this thing (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1106146), copied the chargemon and recovery.tar into my system folder, set the permissions to all enabled, turned off my phone, turned it back on and spammed the back key -> nothing. On another try I long-pressed the back-key -> nothing. On another I installed Rom Manager and selected Boot into Recovery. The phone just restarted.
I THINK, but I'm not sure, that to use recovery, I have to have my bootloader unlocked, is that correct? For that I used this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254225) which I must say is extremely confusing - essentially, what I did was that I got msm7227_semc.cmd from here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17384177&postcount=3) and run that -that seemed to work fine and returned no errors, on my pc.
I can't ascertain whether I ACTUALLY have bootloader unlocked, because that (from what I read in the guide) requires Gordon's Gate and S1tool - S1tool alone doesn't work for me (does nothing) and my Flashtool installation doesn't have Gordon's Gate in it.
So, I don't even know anymore. What the heck am I doing wrong, how can I boot into recovery? It used to be so easy when I had the HTC Desire
Thanks, all. It would be really appreciated if you could give me any help, because I spent hours on this and have had no success despite following all the neat guides and stuff

[Q] problem with restore

Hi, I'm from Venezuela and this is a traduction made by Google's translator... I have a problem with my X10 mini pro (u20a), while putting on a rom I tried and did everything they asked: restore with PC companion, root and install XRecovery, but when I started it I came back because I needed a different type of baseband and compilation number and could not find how to change them. I decided to leave it, uninstalled everything that had been installed to the ROM (zroot, superuser and the servant to see the phone files), un-root and when I wanted to restore with PC companion a notification tells me "There is no software available for phone. Please try again later." If anyone knows how to fix this problem or have already solved this link (there are more than 2000 posts to locate one by one) would really appreciate it I HOPE FOR YOUR HELP, THANK YOU!
