Is there anything in the SDK that helps with this? I've always wondered how Google creates those nice videos showing off Android on devices.
Screen cast has trouble on 4.2.2 roms. You can try SCR Screen Recorder, really good, hd recording with mic. Requires root

Is it possible to edit the YouTube app to output the highest quality video? I turn on HQ, but the video is still not there, but if I go watch a video on the Utubify app it looks like my 42" TV. And the Utubify app pulls videos from YouTube.
Any Suggestions?

How do you get HD on your phone for YouTube? Mine only displays HQ which is 480p.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
That's what I was asking. Because if you use utubify app they come through at 1080p and look damn good but the native app doesn't match that quality at all
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
As a dirty fix. jetVD will play YouTube at 720p
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
So there's no way to alter the native app to do it?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
JetVD is good except it freezes the phone while it downloads the videos

Well im glad YouTube finally updated the app to play hd videos on compatible devices, check it out, instead of the hq button it now has an hd button

I have to agree with this. Before this update the moving starfield video looked horrible, it looks just fine now.

I would love to try streaming the HD quality, but I can only get 1mbps DSL at my house, and I am stuck with EDGE in this area. Someday I will experience its HD beauty, someday.

Has anyone found a way to stream HD over mobile data on the YouTube app? I can stream 720p just fine on YouTube using the browser on HSPA+, but it doesn't give me an option to enable HD on the app. It just has the High/Low Quality toggle.

Is possible? Or only HQ?

HQ is not that bad even.. But I don't know whether there is a way or not. You can try tube god (download at tubex.me) to download and play videos
