Its sad.i joined xda cos i just bought an ACE and we dont even have a section.Sucks!!!!
I MAY (seriously - *MAY*) get an Ace soon - if I do I'm definitely going to try and port CM7.
...
nhnt11 i hope u will make it , and u will recive big thanks from all SGA owners
+1000000000.... for u
indeed hope you will make it nhnt11 anyway every SGA owner should send about 982034584 requests to xda admins to create a separate section everyday to see what happens
First things first - the Ace doesn't have clockworkmod/similar yet, so I tried to get it working today on my friend's phone. I just need to find out how to extract the kernel from the boot partition (it doesn't use mtd :/) and then we should be able to have clockworkmod.
Well nhnt11 has already started the development of the clockworkmod recovery with my mobile. Wish him good luck. And am helping to do it with him.
# nhnt11:
Really cool, you try to port CM for our Ace. I wish you good luck and hope to get some good news soon.
I'm moderator of the Galaxy Ace-section in the biggest german Android Forum and they all want to have a ROM for the Ace, so I hope you'll have great success.
good luck man i hope i can help you during the summer cause now i'm studying and i havent got any time. cheers mate

I've looked into this. I think the best possible way to get clockworkmod is to do it the same way as they do on the Galaxy S. By packing recovery in update.zip
Haven't looked further though.

i NEED FULL explained .. TUTORIAL .. on how 2 install cyanogen !!
EVERY TIME I TRY 2 DO IT .. i brick my phone .. !!
I FLASHED IT 3 times in 3 hours ! TEH **** ??
LOL ..
thanks =X
I dont want to sound rude but did you actually read the instructions? I mean its fully explained there and if you would start looking thru some threads in the forums you will find an answer.
The developers put so much time into the roms and most users appreciate the work and in some case want to help with stating bugs. And then there is some who dont even have 5 minutes to read on thread. I mean look at the ratio there. You want to use the rom start reading its easy. I think nobody will give you a major tutorial here as everything you need to know is withhin the thread. I mean if you couldnt even find the cm thread in the mini dev section explains to me how much you have actually looked thru the forums. So please if you want to have a cm on your phone show some initiative and read first. Then start writing exact issues you have. There is also a discussion thread so you really dont need to open up a new thread. Everybody will help you and this the great thing about xda but nobody can think and work for you.
Please dont feel offended but look at owain who developed the rom he works a lot more than 30 hours in his FREETIME and you couldnt spare 5 minutes.

And seriously man ..
where do u want me 2 look for the cyanogen mod for my x10 mini .. ? in the google nexus section .. ??
That doesn't make sense at all ...
Why don't u just post the link of the thread ur talkin about ..
and we're done .. -.- !
is it really that hard to find the x-mini development forum?!? I mean you are basically in it already. so anyways here is the link
search the forum and find your answer. Try to ask specifically what your problem is and tell us the steps you did when you tried to flash it.where do you have problems there is a lot of reasons.
do a full wipe (factory reset in xrecovery) before you flash thats probably the issue. make sure you downloaded the right files. make sure you have xrecovery correctly installed. before flashing do a back up so you don't need to use seus again to reflash sony firmware. make sure you have the latest kernel. what else do you to know? its all in the threads its all been answered before ...

read specification for our processor and you'll see that it already overclocked at the factory.
i've heard from one of my friend that the processor was factory overclocked.but a custom rom will improve the performance.i tried using villain rom .it was having too much of bugs..i shifted back to kp8....its really good.....no bugs nothing.......
Try using KPE, less buggy tnah KP8.

I read somewhere that the processor of sga is the turbo version of the 600mhz variant. Contrary to many assumptions it is not factory overclocked. The post is somewhere in the sga thread.
The processor runs at 800 MHz, 600 is the speed of the non-turbo version.

hey do you have problems like copying file from computer to sd card?
hey guys, im a having serious headache here.
few days ago i changed my sd card from 2GB to 4GB and i flashed my phone to the lastest firmware (S5830XXKPE) and rooted it.
i connected my phone to the computer via usb to copy songs and some files into my sd card. however it hangs and become unresponsive while transfering files into sd card. and so i cant copy files from computer into my sd card! well, i did try by using micro sd card reader, the copy process goes smoothly BUT when i put in the sd card back to my phone, it shows nothing in it!! as if i dint copy anything!!
HELPPPPPPP !! is it the SD card problem or the firmware problem ?? i guess it is not the firmware problem since i have been browsing through so many threads from various forum and couldnt find anything related about this. any ideas about this problem ???
@ShenJie
Did you format your new SD card into the phone..?
Where do I have to start with this?
I made a decision and will buy myselve a Galaxy Ace next week..
A custom ROM would be nice. If there's anyone with support, feel free to pm me so we can start doing this
What other ROMS and themes are compatible with the S5830?

Well.. I'm not a full dev. But I'm sure I can pull something very stable out of it. The phone deserves it. Will get to work soon..

OK first as stated above that is a theme not ICS. Second spend the time to learn what your doing before you do it or your gonna end up with a big brick that you can't do anything with.

Yes , i Know .. but i am verry noob and dont know what to do .
I am searching tutorials but i cant find one that realy works for me since the Galaxy s Plus is new ..
If you just want to have the ICS look, you just need to install Go Launcher Ex and install a matching theme.
If you want to completely change the ROM and all features, best you can do is read carefully this guide fabsau wrote. It's Galaxy Plus especific, so if you read and understand that guide, you shouldn't have any problem.
Good luck!

No, you can't because it designed to run bada and you need to make android rom yourself for your phone, which is not possible as it requires high technical knowledge like compiling a rom, compiling kernel for your device using source of another device! You should have good knowledge of soldering pins or wires to flash boot loader on main board by opening the phone! The results may not be guaranteed, you might also brick your cellphone.

Hi, I've been following the XDA forums for a few months now, and some progress has been made for the Galaxy Player 4.2. We got CWM . I've tried compiling builds on Ubuntu but I've failed. I have some experience with adb and stuff like that. Anyways, I'm trying to find at least 2-3 other people that have the Galaxy Player 4.2, and have some experiences with this stuff. If you want you can look at tutorials to be at least a little familiar with them. So, I was thinking about starting a group/team of noob developers to work on this device, and continue development. Kind of like the Teams that worked on ICS/JB for other devices. It would be nice if we can achieve this! I have read threads that some teams posted of development and how the successfully got builds working. So, if you want to help me out (and the rest of the community ) please PM me and we'll see from there Thanks.

Count me in too. I'll admit I've never been a part of a dev team or anything like that but I'm more than happy to help out in whatever way I can. My Galaxy Player is currently doing nothing and sitting idle so if you need any alpha/beta testers for any new ROMs then let me know.
Or you can just point me in the right direction to some tuts and I'll try to actually learn rather than just continuing to follow instructions all the time when it comes to flashing lol.
Either way, happy to help
You can count on me for testing and stuff ^___^. For deving and related welll I'll have free time until mid May, freaking finals man
