[Q] I Found Something HONEYCOMB ? - Streak 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

While i was searching streakdroid build ftp folder i found something interesting
http://build.streakdroid.com/streak/
http://build.streakdroid.com/streak/honey1.img
May be is it honeycumb image ?
May be dj steve can tell us something ???

By the size of it and the other files in the dir, it's likely just a kernel/boot image. It might be what he's using while porting HC, but it's definitely not a system image, it's far too small.

thinks so. it may be only a boot.img huh ? who knows. dj steve must tell us something lol

Pretty sure steve will let us know when he is ready...

How do we become beta testers?

I think you just use the roms :-D

lol people really shouldn be browsing the build servers httpd its full of mostly useless junk as i test things, and yes thats the boot image i was using for honeycomb, im waiting on aosp source for hc now though, hacking the sdk is too much of a pain

Mr DJ, if you require any more beta testers ill willingly use my Streak

there is another beta tester volunteer here !

this is donut code, so don't get too excited, but its certainly a great start!
I posted on modaco, wondering about diff the kernel against the codearoura source to create a patch from what changes Dell have made to then go on and build eclair or froyo kernel.
Thoughts on that anyone?
Well, its probably enough to get it working very roughly... im sure there will be issues... still awesome that its available though. Hopefully the 2.1 kernel source is available soon.

here's the diff between the dell source and the donut source.
as predicted all the logging and debug stuff is enabled, no wonder the streak isnt running at full speed.

Donut users ahoy.

ok wondering if anyone still has a streak with donut installed ?(4399 preferably) that could tar up their system folder for me... am looking to make a pretty vannilla donut build buit im going to need files from dells donut for some things
dude i didn't know you got a streak also!
I was following you for the NITDroid too haha! glad to know i'm not the only N900 who also picked up a Streak.
haha imdoing dev for itdroid and streak now, nitdroid farrr easier since nokia are actually open about their devices unlike dell
even then the radio is still a pain...
i thought dell had released their source no?
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
yea they did, if you count releasing a hlaf baked 1.6 kernel thats not even buildable using streaks actual kernel config as released

MIUI on DELL STREAK ?

Is a port of MIUI on the Streak possible ? I'm very attracted to this UI and think it would look awesome on our 5 inch screens.

Its a nice theme, I am sure its possible. But looks so iphone like, which really arent to my liking.
The theme tends to develop his own style and to differ from iOS. The UI iso very slick and since Gingerbread seems to be a disappointment ...

Its slick, no doubt, my friend has it on his milestone, it has some cool animation and 60 FPS system animations versus 17 FPS on the stock rom on a Nexus One. That makes it so much smoother. It does has this iPhone aroma about it.
I wouldn't pass judgement on gingerbread so quickly, its no even been release yet
Although I agree about the "looking too much like an iphone" thing, I would love to see this.
We're all extremely greatful for the huge amount of work that steve does on the Streak, but we really need more people developing,
An MIUI or Cyanogen rom would really give the streak the kick up the ass it deserves, this monster phone just seems wasted on the crap Dell are churning out.
Actually Steve is working on CM6 AFAIK. But we need something powerful. Something that is incredibly eye-candy. We could have the best phone if Dell cared.

Both of you are right, we need more dev and more rom choices. Streak 5 inch screen could do so much more. We need more dev to uncover its potential......
Yeah. I mean, if we could have DjSteve, Sense, MIUI and CM6 that would be awesome yet. When I see the number of Roms for the Hero I'm just WOW.

I just looked this rom up - the 10.29 version on the htc desire ,and it looks amazing. I think if one of you fantastic people could port it to our streaks it would make a great device with a crap ui ,into a great all round device.

Im running stock o2 1.6 btw.

miui is not jsut a theme, its a fully edited build of android, hence getting it to work on the streak is more of a hassle than you would think, will be something im gonan look at beforelong tho as ive put cm on hold for now pending audio libs sources being released by dell
I've read the MIUI benchmarks higher than cm anyway.
Hey steve, great news about the possibility of more rom options, not that we're dissing your current work though, the streak would be a sad state of affairs without your work so far & I hope you continue!
*Took me ages to find where this thread had gone, probably should be moved out of dev & in to general*

There has been no progress noted on the CM6 port to our Streak in some time now. I think Steve is busy working on his own stuff for us right now. Still the best phone ive ever had so im not complaining, but id sure love to see what all the CM6 hype is about.

If you follow steve twitter, cm6 is put on hold for now on pending audio source from dell. It will come we just have to be patient.

[Q] MIUI Full Theme for Vibrant

Hi every one
is there is a way to run any Custom rom on Vibrant that is fully stable has every thing working But with a Fully MIUI Looks? and I am not talking about a miui theme that only change the icon and the back ground. I am talking about menus, the way every thing looks in miui rom.
Thanks for Looking Guys
probably. but would take a ****load of editing pngs and crap
If Possible can you point me to some guide. I got some free time for that
I love the way how MIUI setup. it remind me more about runing mac on PC
Sorry i really don't know, i can't do the leet things that the devs here can haha.
you may want to ask jellette, hes usually helpful.
Thanks for the respond. I will ask him
you aren't going to be able to have the miui menus that you like, without miui.
no editing .png files is going to help that, and no theme will fill that void.
Its officially supported and some GB code is leaking out. It won't be too much longer in my opinion before both CM7 and MIUI will be perfect...
Samsung COUGH COUGH needs to release some code.

Me/Us and #NeverAgain had NOTHING to do with that lawsuit though! Ha
I know, lol though he really made a lot of people believed him and that included me.

Porting meego to atrix?

Is it possible? I heard someone was working on porting it to tegra, but that's when it first came out...
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
its ported to a few tegra2 devices, i played with the idea but didnt have time lately, would have to see if we could use the source code of the moto/cm7 kernel to start off or if it needs a newer kernel. it would however be great to have meego on it (just played with the n9 today and omg the interface is so smooth and lagless - havent seen a phone performing as good ever). you can check a bit here http://wiki.meego.com/ARM/TEGRA2
nvidia released some drivers for tegra2 and meego
hey samcripp i was talking to the meego/mer guys today and they said it shouldnt be too ahrd to port, but it would be nice to have a dualboot/or have the phone boot from external sdcard, at that point akizakian told me you told him its possible, would oyu mind sharing how? thanks man.
Why no dev doing this?
Why don't you do it yourself?
You make it sound as if being a developer is a job.
I'm getting an Atrix soon (despite being a Tmobile customer) And would love to know if there is any support for this? Also are there any ports of other OS's or no?
Very few would be capable of such feat...

But its source code is still out there...
Besides, it can be dead, but it's still great. We all know it is...
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
Well mer/plasma is its fully open source derivative. A guy has put it on tegra 2 tablets ages ago, tsdtest and I tried to get something to boot on the atrix but with no debugging possible on kernel level before boot we gave up...
yeah, we did a bit of experimenting a while back but never got it to boot. If anyone wants to give it a shot again please stop by the irc channel sometime (#moto-atrix on freenode) i'd love to give some help if i can, and i'm sure crnkoj would be happy to as well.
Also, the guys on #mer were helpful at the time.
The help of a kernel expert would also be very welcome.
As tsdtest said. I think the guy who ported it to the tabs has the nick vgrade1
Ye bouncing ideas on #moto-atrix is always welcome.
