Would this be possible to get running on the Atrix?

Looks like a good solution for getting a an additional webtop environment.
Uh... the webtop environment is Ubuntu... or you didn't know that?
I know that but this is the full ubuntu desktop with working package installer. Not the crippled web top environment.

What remote Desktop app is everybody usuing - Basically trying to decide which works best in webtop mode. Was looking at the Xendesktop espress, but that looked like a PIA to get up and running. So what are you guys using?
I have no idea how it works in web top but ive been using xtralogic remote desktop on my phone for a while now and it's pretty sweet for rdp purposes.

Yeah I was really leaning to that one but I would need to upgrade from Windows 7 home premium from my understanding. I just might do it, as it seems to offfer sound and higher resolutions
Has anyone tried playing Minecraft yet using the Debian or Sogarth's Mod? Is it impossible to play, or does it actually run smoothly?

It's actually not possible...
The ATRIX has an arm based processor not intel, unless they publish the source for it and can be compiled for the arm architecture its not gonna happen.

Actually, I take that back.. its a java based game, but still requires standard opengl graphics libraries.. android uses opengl es.. not sure what the diff is but its definitely not the same.
Having said all that, indie games is porting it to android / ios so well have a client eventually for our uber phones

edit again.
being there don't appear to be any hardware accelerated 3d drivers. its going to run really bad. i would wait for the official app or some good drivers
Is there anyway to use the webtop application or any sort of full linux on the phone instead of having to output on the hdmi?

As far as I know no there isn't, although I think it would be pretty cool.
Yes there is. I read an article where a man managed to run ubuntu and connect to it using a VNC viewer. Im not sure how but look around the forums. What u need to do is install ubuntu using the ubuntu install script available in the development forum and then install a VNC viewer from the market. Its been done b4. Its cumbersome and not much use, but it works.

So was the vnc viewer to connect to the x server or whatever I forget what the right terminology is im tired
Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
Exactly. VNC viewer is used to "remotely" connect to X server since the atrix display drivers are configured specifically for android and do not support X at all. Like i said, its a cumbersome system, but it works.
So im guessing that would require a network connection and it would have the typical lag when using vnc

Hi,
it's possibile to install Windows 8, with vmware or something like this, on note 2? or we can only use the infrastrutture client server, of vwmare client for android? Because i need to intall it, in local, for work...
Thanks in advance.
That's an ambitious wish, but the Note 2 has no x68 architecture, so no...
Windows 8 on Arm won't help either, without some serious porting efforts an besides that: you' d need the specific Arm arcitecture Vmware client too...
You can however use web-based clients to control hypervisors. There are many, not only Vmware...

No. Not possible. Windows 8 is x86 architecture. You will never be able to run it on ARM.
WinRT or WP8 may be possible, but extremely unlikely.
All you'll really be able to do is use an RDP client to connect to a real Windows 8 machine.
I second the RDP method: I use it myself (Remote Desktop Client, Xtralogic) and on the Note 2 with all that screen real estate, it's a breeze...
Combine it with a VPN (either builtin or download OpenVPN) and you are ready to go anywhere with it.

I heard a windows phone 8 rom for galaxy note2 is already available. Is this true ? Does this mean we can run windows phone 8 OS in the note 2. I am excited. ..
No!

It isn't possible.
But....you can install windows8 launcher that fakes the appearence of windows 8. Search it on playstore.

I think there was some work done a while ago to port the Linux Silverlight alternative called Moonlight to Android. I don't think it got very far.
Moonlight is missing some things like DRM which Microsoft won't share (no surprise there) so things like Netflix won't work.

Would it be possible to port an silver light application to java and then to android?

That I couldn't tell you. I would imagine you could just write it in Java or C# and make it Android native though
