same, running cm7 BT edition
Working on my Evo right now, not currently able to test on my Nook right now.
Running CM7 w/BT and OC Kernel, no sound and laggy.
Working fine here on customized nookie froyo. Thx for link
It is working better than great on a customized nookie froyo 0.6.8 + dolphin hd. The high def youtube vids look fan-freakin-tastic!
Nookie Froyo 0.6.8 (zoom2)/Tapatalk Pro
YouTube does't work, but CBS, WB, Crackle do.
Working well on my Nook Color. 0.68 Nookie Froyo, emmc.
Thanks,
Couldn't get it to work. Thanks anyway!

Same...bummed, but maybe the 18th will bring hope.
No Go on HC v4 eMMC 2nd Ed.
Downloaded and sideloaded.
Dolphin, Skyfire, Native Browser all report no Flash.
copied .so files for honeycomb, flash, stagefright to system/lib
No change in behavior. Do I need to enable -r on one of the config files for uptake?
I am also seeing no sound on flash, but hulu works with the hacked versions I've found. Anybody on CM7 getting sound to work?

Same question. No sound on latest CM7 build. Video looks a bit better and more smooth, though. Can't wait for some hardware support!

I have installed this on my nook running CM7 and it works great. As normal i am not responsible if this breaks something (it shouldn't since its from adobe) but always possible. This should work on anything with 2.2 or higher. Here is where to get it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990303
Note: some users are not getting sound from flash content. Mine works just fine when i tested at flashgames247.com
Installed it as well on Nookie Froyo. Watching CNN videos right now. Not super fast, but it works!

I'm new to the G Tablet so pardon for the ignorance or if this is already answered.
1. Where is the video/hardware acceleration supplied from? The ROM, or the kernel?
2. Is the video (movies) accel different from GPU accel (games)?
3. I have heard that Gingerbread doesn't work with Hardware accel on the G tablet (yet)...true?
4. I don't want to give up hardware acceleration, especially GPU acceleration for Ginger, and I also need NTFS reading to work...SO...would someone be kind enough to recommend a 2.2 ROM and kernel to give me HW accel and NTFS access?
Thanks!!
I was just about to ask the same thing... Gotta have video hw acceleration.. I need to be able to play the 720p videos from my camera...
For hardware acceleration for video, either stick with TNT Lite or Vegan. Both are very stable. TNT Lite has been getting update more as its Roebeets project while vegan hasn't seen any major updates for awhile, as gojimi's been working on vegan ginger.

Which kernel? Do both TNT Lite and Vegan come with their own kernels that give NTFS access? I can see that Clemsyn Kernel offers NTFS support. And people seem to like "Calkulin+Clemsyn Froyo Combo". Opinions?

I have Calkulin+Clemsyn Froyo on my GTab right now, it's pretty snappy. I'm running LauncherPro on it and using Dolphin HD a browser with Android File Explorer. No problems with performance at all.
Sadly, just like stock TnT and TnT Lite, it still doesn't see the PEAP wireless here at work.
I ran Vegan 5.1 for quite awhile before the gingerbread roms came out. I used pershoot's kernal for it, mainly so I could use droid wall. I know his also supports NTFS, but I'm sure its the same as Clemsyn's in the fact that you have to manually mount it before you can access it (Could be wrong, found it just easier to reformat my external to fat32)

I used Calkulin+Clemsyn at first. It was stable, responsive. The rom somehow automatically blocks the online ads, which is good at some sense, but not to me. When I got to youtube from the browser, I see a "404 error" in the screen which normally it's ad. I can't use the "sogoul" - chinese pinyin/handwriting keyborad as the rom only has english, spanish(not sure) languare pack. Then I try vegan 5.1.1. The rom is not as responsive compare to Calkulin. But since it does not block the ad, I don't have "404 error" on youtube or anyother other site that may has a ad on the front page(like Hulu.com). Hulu works but very laggy, but Youtube is perfect fine, not problem at all (well, didn't try the HD movie, just 360). Vegan 5.1.1 has manay language support pack, I was able to just download "sogoul" ime and installed, go to setting - keborad - select "sogoul" without apply the "move the keyborad file into system/data step". Long hold the screen, "Sogoul" shows up as part of the input method option. I am now can hand write/pinyin chinese character just like the Iphone/Ipad. Video playback is about similar, not able to play 720p file(mkv). Regular avi(size around 700mb) or rmvb is fine with rockplayer. Vegan rom gives me what I needed and I probably will stick with it even there is new stock rom comes out. I do hope the video hardware acceleration works in the future. Personally, Calkulin's rom is most stable, fast/responsive. Vegan is pretty stable, but didn't feel as solid or fast compare to Calkulin. But I like it because my needs for more language support.

He means, plug in your drive via USB then go into settings, mounts and storage and pick your device and use the "mount" option associated with that device. Then be sure to do the same, but choose the unmount option before unplugging the drive from the USB port.

Ad blocking is done by the hosts file at /etc/hosts you can easily turn the blocking off removing the ad blocking lines in there, its just a text file. Make a backup of the file before editing, the first line with "127.0.0.1 localhost" needs to remain.
Or download adfree from the market and use the revert option, should do it for you.
720p movie trailers on apple.com/trailers play fine on VEGAn 5.1.1 with Clemsyn's V9 kernel using moboplayer. Haven't tried any downloaded files yet.
I mount my external ntfs drive with one click using the script from this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12795200
Hope that helps.
So which rom is most stable giving hd video youtube and allows mouse with gsensor fixed?

I'm using VEGAn-Tab 5.1.1 for mouse support, and it plays a wide range of files, even 4 gig avi 720p files hardware mode.
for mouse usage -> vegan. I can't get the mouse to work with my TNT but that's no issue for me. Far too stable to even consider changing rom.

Here's the new Netflix app that was just released for the evo. i installed it and it plays audio but no video. maybe someone can figure out how to get it work to work for our phones. it says it has G2 support figured it would work since the Shift is just like the G2.
Worked for one movie.
I just loaded the apk attached by the OP.
Worked on my Shift!! I just played a Mystery Science Theater 3000 movie and got video and sound. MST3K:Hercules Against the Moon Men
Tried other movies, which didn't work -- just went back to the queue.
EDIT: Okay, just resumed the same movie and it stopped working. Tried resuming the same movie 3 times, and it worked again, then stopped. Not seeing any pattern.
Yeah, it is not working for me ether. I get to the netfix loading screen and then it just brings me back to the queue.
I tried several other movies. The Sorcerer's Apprentice also worked, but only after attempting to load it 4 times. When the movies does start, it works perfectly. If you stop it, then try to resume, it may or may not work. I guess we'll just have to wait for Netflix to get the bugs out.
i read somewhere that they edited the build.prop for on a nook color and got it to run perfect
I got it to work perfectly. I am running bcnice20 Desire Z port which may or may not have an effect on netflix running. I played many different shows from my queue and searching. Thought I would share for what its worth.
i got it running on my rom. gotta have flash 10.3, and drm.apk, and the other 2 apks that start with pmt. no build.prop editing necessary. audio and video. sense rom only.

Thats a no go

Did you update everything after you flashed to stock?

Yeah, I updated everything i could see in the market... including flash.
Yeah running mikshift 1.1 here, have flash 10.3, no dice. I even tried the build prop edit to both htc vision and nexus s. Still says not supported.
This worked for me on CM7 Nightly #75:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1076150
I'm using the device check disabled .apk.
^ Shift Faced
Worked beautifully on NFX Stock for an episode of Blue's Clues for my kid in the car yesterday. Tried to load a movie at work today and it wouldn't play, but I get ****ty 3G at work. Will try again at home tonight.
Also works for me on cm7 Nightly 75 W netflix disable apk
but ... anime seem to play smoothly anything anything live action seems a bit slow, think that is is something they will fix when it officially comes to shift?
anyone else notice it playing a little laggy e.g The Office
worked for me but i see an update for netflix in my apps. i figure if i update then it prob wouldnt work.?? sprint stock rom
I am on rooted stock 1.2, netflix app does not properly login or when it does, it plays at like 3x speed, so what can I do to fix this?
You need to update your build.prop file. There are a few other threads on this as I was having the same issue. Sounds like Chipmunks movies...

I used the following and it worked...
CM7 nightlys + Android 2.2 ROMs(Stock, Froyo, ect...)
ro.product.model=HTC Vision

Also, I'm not 100% familiar with stock 1.2 and Netflix. I am running CM7 nightlies with Dalingrin's OC.
I finally kinda got netflix to work on my mn'd 1.2, except the lack of video is kind of a bummer. I did the full build prop fix, which got me further than some of the other build fixes. Any thoughts?

I just got mine working, amazingly enough. I had the chipmunk sound issue with no video. Then I updated my build.prop to HTC Vision and it fixed the sound problems, but still had no video.
I found this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1105681
I left my build.prop as model: HTC Vision and manufacturer: HTC and installed the apk on the first page of the thread, mediaclient-1. It is working great now!
I guess everyone has difference configuration on their Nook Colors. I have rooted stock 1.2. From what I've read it seems to work easier for CM7 users.
My rooted Nook seems to loose the video depending on what day of the week it is. I can get it back by going into Manage Applications and hitting Clear data and/or Clear cache. However, I've yet to loose the video running under CM7 from the SD card.
Running Phiremod 6.2 the market version of Netflix plays flawless, audio & video.A little grainy for first few seconds then picture is great.

Can confirm that after installing CM9A1 that HD videos on Youtube play great! Tested with BigBuckBunny 1080p and it works as it should!
It seems that Alpha 1 had the same problem as CM7 when using c2d - videos get scaled using nearest neighbor instead of Bicubic, Bilinear or whichever method Android normally uses.
This can be fixed by changing this line in the build.prop:
debug.composition.type=c2d > debug.composition.type=gpu

None of the ROMs require an older ROM. They will upgrade if an old version is there but will also work with nothing.

The ACMEInstaller does a lot more than just install the image. It also partitions the HDD, installs moboot etc. So, if this is a first time Android install, you have to follow the original instructions but use latest CM9 a1 file. If you already have CM9 installed, then you don't need the ACMEInstaller. Just install the new file via the moboot option.
If I have classicnerd installed but want to put CM9 aplha1 on, can I just wipe data, caches.
Will this clear classicnerd from my moboot?
Sweet, WatchESPN app works now but the video is pixelated. I'll have to try the build.prop fix from above.
