I flashed the sweet Honey Rom which rocks . But even though it's touchwiz the buddies now widget isn't there.
How can I get it?
You can pull it from any older touchwiz based roms and then push it in /system/app and it will show up.
Tried that.
Didn't work .
Did you try the bloater app?
Edit: not on bloater app , sorry. Swore I saw it on the app

You need to long press after copying to system/app and change permissions to rw-r--r--,like attached screen.
I use root explorer, from market and have mount set to R/W.

Droid Explorer.
And how does one get it back? I tryed it and got the Android default lockscreen but did not like it. I want the HTC one back. I made a backup of the file and copied it back, rebooted but still im on the android lockscreen. I had to chmod 777 the file to delete it. Do i have to chmod it back to whatever it was? and in that case what was it hehe
I'm using Droid Explorer with Froyostone V1 on my HD2; can't seem to delete the file? No error message but just stays in the directory. Any ideas?
Ok, post above with CHMOD set me searching, and figured out how to open the unix terminal in Droid Explorer and I entered "CHMOD 777 /system/app/HtcLockScreen.apk" and enter, and then closed the terminal window, but still won't delete...sorry but used to playing around in Windows and have to admit this is the first time I've seen a Unix terminal...
How do you guys delete the File from there?
I've tried several times but it fail every time...
You have to use a rootexplorer and mount the System as read write able.
Subfs App can do this.
One question more. How can i remove the rainbow taskbar?

I don't know. The problem is that you need write access to the system folder to remove or rename the file. I use normaly the App SUBFS it is a rootexplorer. The best is to search the market for a rootexplorer.
Cool, that was easier; didn't find SUBFS but the app I did find worked a treat (AndroidMate). Thanks...

Just be aware that if you delete HtcLockScreen.apk (renaming it will work as well) you will loose the ability to turn off your alarm if it fires up. The alarm set in HTC alarm app expect HTC Lockscreen to turn it off!
To have the original lockscreen and still be able to have alarms you need to use the original clock app. You can find it somewhere on the forum - once installed you can and probably should delete HTCWorldClock.apk.

Worked for me running [UPDATE][BUILD]25.09.10|Mdeejay FroYo Sense v. 2.3|2.10.405.2|[kernel: michyprima R0].
I find the HTC Lock screen has a nasty habit of unlocking before I get the phone out of my pocket wearing jeans or trousers. Well ... really it is me pressing a button and my fingers sliding vertically on the phone as I removed it This trick of deleting the package works a treat!

Alright, I have the HTC_IME.apk directly from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1035327
Tried to throw it on my atrix (rooted with sideloading enabled of course) and when I tried to install it it says:
Parse error: There is a problem parsing the package.
I've been trying to figure out a solution for a while now, but I am not quite sure where to start. Any help?
Is it a signing issue, or is there something I can do? I know I'm a noob. I don't even need an answer, just point me where to get started, besides "google" cause I got that far .

I'm pretty sure its one of the ones you dont need to install, just place in the /system file and it should be recognized, just make sure the permissions are set correctly (to rw-r-r)

rootexplorer can do both, it's not free but its fairly inexpensive and well worth the change for how good a tool it is.

Thank you, it still didn't work yet, but I have a place to start . Love the HTC_IME and qHD screen of the atrix, hopefully I can make them love eachother or something.
Try putting it in the /system/app folder, set permissions to rw-r-r, then reboot for good measure.

I haven't messed with it yet since I was at work when I posted it, but I thought it was just a normal apk to click and install. I assume you ran the installer?

The apk should be placed in the system/app directory and the permissions should be edited. You may make reference from the other apks.
Then reboot, done

good stuff. had a chance to mess with it today, and its just like i remember it. props to the guy who ported it
i guess this will have to do as far as getting MIUI on the Amaze .................
so i have been searching for this for awhile and couldnt find it. then i remembered that nrg loves blue like i do. so i tried to see if it would work for our phones. it was from his rom on the one x.
install like a normal apk file. the keyboard will not stick after reboot so just replace in system/app folder using es file explorer or something.
p.s. credit goes to NRG for this mod, i had nothing to do with it. if i cant post this let me know and i will remove it.

I'm not saying that Omega rom doesn't have the gallery app at all. In my case I can't find it in the /system/apps/ folder. It must've gotten deleted somehow. It'll be of great help if you could upload yours or provide a link from where I can download the app.

Yeah thanks for the tip!..I forgot I could extract it from the zip I downloaded..
Its weird that the app disappeared from system folder as well.. Anyway thanks a ton!
i wasn't saying you lied...
i said you should get the downloaded omega file, open it (pc\phone doesn't matter) and extract only the SecGallery2_Galaxy.apk located at system\app\ inside the omega zip and than copy it to your /system/app and make sure permissions are the same as all the other apk's in this folder.
make sure you mount r/w on so you can copy the file.
