I just finished flashing my At&t Xperia X10a over to 2.1 and I must say it does move a lot quicker now.
Big problem, however, is that I cannot get it to re connect to the network. When I boot up the phone it will tell me to choose the language. When I select English(United States) it then pops up with "Please insert SIM card and restart your phone."
I can hit Cancel and get into the phone and still use everything. Wifi works and all the apps are working no problemo. I just cannot connect to the cellular network at all.
Steps I've taken so far are to go into the settings to Mobile Networks and go to network operators. When you enter, it Searches for mobile networks and locates At&t (and while i'm writing this, for the first time T-Mobile as well -not important). When I Select At&t it says "Registering on At&t" then it fails saying "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network."
I know the SIM card works cause I have another phone that i've put it into without any issue. Conversely I've taken my iPhone 3gs SIM and put it into the Xperia just to try to get it to connect and its the same story with the SIM card does not allow a connection to this network.
Have you checked to see if your apn settings are keyed in? If not got to settings/wireless and networks/mobile networks/access point names if theres nothing in there you will need to manually enter your settings for the network. The settings can be found easily by searching at&t apn settings. If your phone cant see your sim though thats a whole nother issue and it might just ne nest to try amd reflash.

Like Cmoney said.. reflash is probably the best and only solution here. Factory reset with SEUS will most likely do the trick
When i flashed from 1.6 to 2.1 i had to manually enter apn settings. Im also on ATT so here are the settings.
First go to settings/wireless and networks/mobile networks/access point names (not network operators) then click the menu button and tap "add apn" then use these settings:
Name: ATT
APN: wap.cingular
Proxy: none
Port: none
Username: [email protected]
Password: none
Server: none
MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
MNC: 410
Authentication Type: none
APN Type: default,supl,mms
Just skip the lines that say none and some of those set themselves.
To avoid this in the future use an app called "APN Backup and Restore" to make a backup of your settings before you flash new FWs.

use this.. flash the X10i_2_0_2_A_0_24_GLOBAL ROM using Flashtool (just search the forum a bit) (or x10a, if you got an x10a.. to check, remove your battery, it should be on the label attached to your phone)
If that doesnt work, download Pc Companion from

here
Connect your phone, and do a factory reset (or what ever its called )

Hi,
I have recently purchased a LG Optimus P503 with android 2.2. I am currently in Sultanate of Oman using the Nawras network.
My problem is that I cannot access data over the mobile network, how can I setup a manual data connection for the mobile operator?
- I have tried to re-request the mobile operator settings for GPRS, MMS etc ..; the message i get is "your phone is not compatible, try to manually enter settings".
- tried calling the operator and they said they do not know the menu settings for this phone make; they gave me generic LG phone settings, however, those menu settings do not map to the P503!
Would appreciate if anyone can help.
Thanks
go to settings > wireless & networks >Mobile Networks > Access Point Names
select New Apn
Name = Nawras
apn = isp.nawras.com.om
press back and try browser
Hi, thanks for the reply. Unfortunately it did not work!
I checked the following:
- data enabled - green check mark present
- Nawras APN active - green dial mark present
I also found the Nawras recommended settings on their website.
Now I have also tried: isp.nawras.com.om and wap.nawras.com.om - neither work.
Where do I put in the IP address referenced in the website (sorry link cannot be posted due to forum rules for new users)?
Again, appreciate the advise ....
Thanks,
Asad
SOLVED
Added user name and password and reset. Seems to have worked.
Thanks
Could someone help me please with my internet settings?
Im using LG Optimus P500 with android 2.2. I am currently in Bahrain using the VIVA network.
My problem is that I cannot access data over the mobile network, how can I setup a manual data connection for the mobile operator?
Please advise
best regards
I usually send SET to 20999 to get my setting from my service provider(CELCOM)
They will give me a configuration message that i will save to set my APNs automatically.
But after installing ([ROM] MiniCM6-1.0.0-RC2, Froyo Cyanogen 6.1.3), it seems like i cannot receive the configuration message or in other words maybe the custom rom cannot read the configuration message.
Please XDA angels help me with this.
Or anyone using the same custom rom and same service provider as me(Celcom)to help me with this.
I cant believe that there's no one know a single piece of info.
go to you cellcom website look for manual configuration and set it yourself.
i don't know how else to set this but manual configuration works fine.

it's not that i don't like the CM, im using x10minipro, but using the rom doesnt feeling like using sony phone.
i wanted the feel of sony ericsson android. the feels very important for me.
so that is why i revert back to se rom.
have you done with the APN?
Blitzkri3g said:
Well I m on Floyo 0.15 and had some issues with MMS sending/receiving.On stock 2.1 SE ROM when you have Mobile Data OFF,our X8s still automatically use GPRS to handle mms messages. On Floyo and other ROMS you need to turn it ON which may result in additional charges from your carrier if you don't use a prepaid internet data plan.
So what do you do in this case you may ask! Well if you only use WIFI for internet and still wanna use MMS you should customize APN Settings.
First google you carrier's APN settings for MMS and set it up manually.Be carefull to not use capital letters on some fields!
Then delete every other APN settings leaving Mobile Data ON all the time and Reboot!
This way you can MMS technology without any fear of additional internet charges. ;-)
APN Settings can be found in WIRELESS ->MOBILE NETWORKS->APN menu in any custom ROM!

Hello
I got a big problem that i can't resolve alone. I configure a new APN on my tab and i can access 3G+ but it seems my MMS profile doesn't work. I can't send or receive any MMS....
I join 2 different configurations for Android , one for HTC and the second for Samsung galaxy tab. Anyone can give me any solution to sent an MMS with that?
Thanks a lot!
Pleaaaaassssse help!
I don't know about samsung tab but if it happen to me I will flash a new rom.

It would be helpful to post a little more details on your Vpad7 basics so that maybe, one of us can help figure it out or test our ROM:
Let's take a simplistic step-by-step approach first -
a. are you using stock/factory ROM or rooted, custom ROM including verison #
b. your mobile carrier for the SIM card, both SMS and MMS enabled & working on another quad-band GSM phone
c. SMS working on the Vpad7 as is - both incoming & outgoing
d. using the default Messaging feature/module installed or using something else,
and if you haven't try it already, download & use Handcent for SMS/MMS
f. if you have already done all or some of the above, do a Master Reset on the Vpad7 first to clear all the existing settings, boot into RECOVERY to wipe dalvik/cache/system, and then flash, as suggested, a different custom ROM.
g. any technical support or help from your mobile phone carrier
Cheers - mastering everything on the V is a challenge !
First , i've tried with standard rom. No succes. Then i flashed my vpad7 , installed TJ's rom and... same problem.
BTW you're true , i'll try my sim on another phone , try MMS. And i'll try to put another sim in my vpad7 too.
But , i just think one little thing is missing , because when i look at the other froyo's config , some little thing are changing between diferent phone model.
So , i think viewpad need a personnal configuration.
I got Gosms and tried to configure MMS on the program settings , but same problem.
I've called the technical support but can't help me and told me : "we have some configuration on website , try these , if it don't work , not our fault"
Thanks for your help
Does anyone can send me any working config for MMS on viewpad 7? Just want to see what's different.
THANKS...
These are mine under Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile Network > APNs, they're OTA/downloaded automatically & self-configured
AT&T MMS (wap.cingular)
Proxy (Not Set)
Port (Not Set)
Username & Password (Not Set)
Server (Not Set)
MMSC (http://mmsc.cingular.com)
MMS proxy (66.209.11.32)
MMS port (80)
MCC (310)
MNC (410)
Authentication (Not Set)
APN type (mms)
Note - these are nearly identical to AT&T WAP, which is usually configured for web browsing with data enabled.
Ok , i tried all solutions and then:
My sim works on other phone , i can send MMS .
Another Sim on my viewpad ( different operator) , once configured , worked. So it's not a viewpad or sim problem , just a Digicel configuration problem.
Any solution?

You may have corrupted your imei/efs folder in flash process! Go to settings/about & check your imei is same as under your battery, then try settings/wireless & network/more/mobile networks & try changing your network mode back & forth, & also you could try putting your device into airplane mode & back again!
If all else fails try this tool: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.hellcat.droiddev.ktool&hl=en
In future when flashing different roms always remember to backup your efs folder first!!
Good luck!!

What CrackDaddy said. Check with your carrier for final word on what their APN settings should be.
You could try to hit "Reset to default" in your APN settings to see if it will pick it up automatically from your carrier first, though.
