Why does archos not include the market? And make it so difficult to make work? It really makes no sense to me.
Sent from my SilverBullet "HTCDesireZ running CM7"
Because GOOGLE has made the rules for including the market.
And Google decided that a device that is allowed to include the market has to have Telefon funktions.
Hmmm. That blows. Well, time to stick it to Google and root this bad boy and get my market running.

But when Honeycomb is popular enough Google will release a "free market", i think .. i hope

I assume that you are aware that you do not have to root your tablet to access the market. If not, just search this forum for "market access".

Get arctools from appslib thats the fastes way to install the market.

Thanks all. Yes, I was aware of that, but rooting is just so much fun and I tried a program last night, don't remember the name, it didn't seem like it was working so I gave up.lol. today I was in system manager, and I noticed a market running. Ahah, it was a wtf moment. It works perfect, all the apps are there, I didn't even need to do that market fix people talk about

so even the Galaxy Tab would be without 'market' ? or the Xoom ?
just curious

The Galaxy Tab and the Xoom both have cellular functioning (hence the tie to Verizon and crap) not sure how they will get around the WiFi only version though.

The original Galaxy Tab does, I believe, have market out of the box, because it has phone functionality (and was sold by carriers). I think the Xoom is the same situation. Not sure if the wifi-only versions will though.

I do not know why my ARCHOS101 (rooted) could not download " Market" & "GMail &Youtube" from arctools 0.48 latest update Apps?

So, in all my searching I can find nothing to suggest anybody has gotten any of the Netflix apks out there to work on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 running HC 3.1. Am I correct? Is there no mod that can be applied to coerce it into working?
Yea no one was successful so far. I tired all the versions I could find with no luck.

Darn. I'm wondering if its even possible at this point given that nobody has been able to do it thus far. Which leaves us all waiting until Netflix decides to support our chipset.
You can always get PlayOn and stream it through your pc. That's what im doing. Works wonders.

That's not true. PlayOn is the software that runs on the PC. You can access all that content long as your tab has a wifi or 3g connection. Just leave your PC on.

Good thing Best Buy has a 15 day return window. Tablet without netflix is worthless. I'll wait and buy something newer down the road once netflix is supported if there's no support in 14 days.

I think I might be leaning the same way, especially since the GT10.1 doesn't have access to Google Movies either. I love the tablet. The look and feel are wonderful. But few tablet optimized apps and no Netflix makes me sad.

An awesome $80 replacement for something I have for free (no counting the netflix monthly fees) on my Android phone
After seeing people ask for a decent voice guided navigation app, I pulled the Telenav APK from my backups to share. It was posted waaay back in the early Captivate days. It's a free and legit version for basic functionality, which is plenty for navigation. It works the same as the AT&T Navigator app included in the stock phone from AT&T, but this one doesn't want to charge you $10 just for trying out the free stuff. You can upgrade to additional features for $10/month through Telenav, but there really is no need. It works just fine in basic mode.
Enjoy - slap the thanks button if this helps
Thanks for the app. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow....

Is it better than google navigator?
Depends on what u consider better. Better graphics and voice. Same performance. Heavier use of battery though.

I use WAZE, and seem to be ranked as 195 in the state. BUT, I tired the navigation, it works ok, but too many loops.
I would be going down a street and all for no reason it says go in this subdivision and loop around and come back out. - of course I was smart enough to see that trick.
Still goona use WAZE because of the other users posting where the cops are hiding.

Thanks for this! I had a question. Has anybody tried to 'trick' Market so we are able to download this:
https://market.android.com/details?...sImNvbS50ZWxlbmF2LmFwcC5hbmRyb2lkLnNwcmludCJd
This is V7.1.1 (different from the one they call TeleNav GPS Navigator for TMO) and is available to Sprint users. This version has some 'nice' Widgets (equivalent to that of AT&T Telenav) that V6.2.6201121 doesn't have.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMiCL6hV85Q
I am wondering if this will still work on the AT&T network...and, we wouldn't have to pay a ridiculous monthly fee?
Any thoughts?

I am getting the same behavior as btothec as well. I am wondering how you were able to download in the first place godfirst? Normally, we (AT&T users) can't see this app in the AppStore as it is blocked...I found it via the Market.Android.Com site.
And, if you haven't rooted yet, you must have both AT&T Navigator AND Telenav installed at the same time (ex. AT&T Navigator exists on system/app folder)? Are you sure you aren't subscribed to the service (now)?

No Im not subscribed. I cannot find the app due to it being blocked but because of the link to it that was posted earlier I was able to download. Now the number I have from att was ported over from when I had sprint, and my data is still stored with my number from when I had the free service with sprint. I even have the ability to look at my recent destinations which was taken when I was with sprint last summer.

So, Playstation Mobile was released today. I installed the .apk on my S3 and can confirm we aren't supported.
Think anyone will release a crack?
I really don't know, it depends how the app finds out what model you are on, not compatible with hardware, possibly.
If I was Sony though I would check the model of the phone and check servers then probably not, unless people want to spoof their model number.

I don't know if that method works on the GS3, however. After being the unlucky owner of a 3G Vita (which I gave to my brother, who doesn't use it anymore after he got a GS2), there's no way I'm letting any **** like that onto my phone. Sony can go to hell.

I would say the other way, "It's a shame that Samsung doesn't support PlayStation mobile on such a powerful device."
I installed it with the method on Android Police, but "files over 20MB can only be downloaded via WiFi" ok uninstall.
Also @onesolo it's not Samsung, it's Sony, they make the app, they have to make it compatible, unless you want Samsung to replace all hardware in the S3 with the hardware of supported devices, then it might work.
I just picked up mine. Coming from a Galaxy Nexus and seeing the Verizon/Google Google Wallet debacle. I was quite surprised to see that Google Wallet is available to download on the Market. Was this enabled for the Note II?
