[Q] German keylayout for Bluetooth-keyboards? - Nook Color Themes and Apps

I have tried several apps that claim to support a German layout with BT keyboards, but none of them worked.
I then opened system/usr/keylayout/qwerty.kl and replaced y and z so I at least have a basic qwertz-layout.
Now I'm stuck. I have no idea what to put in there to get umlauts working and I'm starting to think that changes in the qwerty.kl alone won't be able to get me a fully working German layout
Can anyone help me out here? Google didn't help much
EDIT: Sorry for posting this in the wrong forum. This obviously belongs to themes and apps...

Thank you. That'll come in handy once my NC works with my keyboard again

Keyboard problems?

I have the new Scheps ROM and having some keyboard issues.
My symbols are not matched up to what it shows on the keypad and also, the caps lock logo is not consistent.
I'm having the same issue - I just finished upgrading to Black Satin, and now the symbols on the left-hand side of the keyboard are all messed up.
QWE
ASD
ZXC
These are the keys that have the wrong symbols - all others (as well as the numbers) are fine.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks!
guys, this is a VERY old question and has been answered many times.
Please use search - you may use the google search link in my signature. Try something like:

Thanks for the help.
I know you must be tired of newbies asking the same questions over and over, but please try to bear with us. Remember that a search is useless if you don't know what to search for!
Now that you've so kindly pointed me in the right direction, I'm sure I'll be able to sort all this out.
P.S. Any chance of admins replacing the vBulletin search with the Google search? It's much better! (more relevant results provided)
try looking for htcustom.

Arrow Calkulin+Clemsyn 1.5ghz Froyo Combo VERSION 6 (1.2 Bootloader)

I've downloaded, searched, and I think it's just a problem with the software. I first discovered this, when trying to add Japanese to the tablet. My Japanese girlfriend wants to input Japanese text. I said sure, although it wasn't listed in the Android Keyboards, I went to download an Android Keyboard App. But it wouldn't work!
Here's the problem:
I download and see it on the lists of keyboards to select, but it isn't selectable!
I ignored the problem, but when the SixxAxis.apk came out and I wanted to be able to play NES Roms, I can't select this controller in the keyboard section.
Anyone discover this also? Anyone have a fix for it?
Maybe the next version can include a Japanese input?
This is a known issue. The solution is to move the keyboard apk into the system apps folder. Root Explorer will do the trick.
If all that's required, you are a god send! Thank you for letting me know, I'm going to try this right now.
So all I do is put whatever keyboard into the system apps folder. Okay...
How about Japanese Text Input? Anywhere to install this as an Android Keyboard?
Okay, just tried it...and it won't let me. It says that the system/app folder is read protected. I'm pretty good with computers, but this tablet isn't working well for me.
I feel kind of noobish.
Any help? Can you put instructions if possible?
I think I found the reason... you have to touch the small mount button first.
When I go to select the keyboard it still won't select. I placed the apk in the system/app folder like mentioned, but no change.
Anything else that's needed?
I had forgotten the last step. Find a text input box and long press. Select input method and then select your desired keyboard. An alternate method can also be found here: http://viewsonic-gtablet-for-dummie...2-04-replace-soft-keyboard-in-tnt-based-roms-
I'm not a stupid user...but this is still not working. Btw, the link you posted didn't work with the file.
I really would like to use my PS3 controller on this thing. Japanese would make the woman happy too.
Anyone have any Japanese keyboards? Point me to the .apk!

[Q] Samsung Keyboard Dock + Norwegian layout

Hi. Writing this from my tablet, and using the keyboard. English is pretty easy to write, since it doesnt use any `special` letters.. But whenever i want to write in norwegian its a lot harder - the keymap is all wrong.
I`ve tried to set everything to norwegian, but nothing seems to work.
I read somewhere that one could pull the file that controls the keymap, and change it to fit your needs, but i dont know where I can find it?
or is there an easier fix to this?
its been reported that a complete restock and a normal update would fix the problem, but im kinda fond of overcome, so im looking for the .. harder way out of this mess.
Anyone? :>
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

[Q] Apple wireless keyboard on cyanogen mod 9

Hey there!
I tried to get an Apple wireless keyboard working on my 7500 running the 3G ICS kang. The device pairs up, but pressing keys doesn't do anything. If I remember right you needed the official samsung keyboard app to make keyboards work, would having it installed help?
Sorry if this was already answered, searched google and forum search isn't working for me for some reason ... so, can anyone tell me how to get it to work? =)
Hmm strange, it's working now, seems like a reset was all that was needed and now it works just splendit.
Even stuff like ctrl+c, ctrl+v works fine, didn't think that would work out of the box. The only thing that doesn't work is function keys, but I never thought that would be the case.
So if a moderator sees this, you can probably just delete this whole thread
- Happily typed this on my new Apple wireless keyboard =)

[ICS][Help] Carriage Return/Enter Key in Stock MMS

Edit: I decided to try the modded apk and it seems to be working fine.
Hi mods, you can delete or lock or leave this thread open. Sorry for the trouble.
I like the smiley key, but I need the return key more often than that... on SMS, yes. Understand that I love the stock MMS and keyboard now more than froyo or gingerbread combined. I don't find the need to install any 3rd party sms/keyboard apps anymore.
I've been going around the forums to see if I'm the only one looking for this. Turns out I'm not. Fortunately someone found a solution. Unfortunately it's for the Nexuses and Galaxies. Fortunately the source is on github. Unfortunately I don't know what to do with it.
I'm not trying the modded apk that's posted for Samsung. I'm wondering though if there is a large enough user need here in O1 to have someone kind enough to mod or port it? Or, better yet, point me to the right direction in making this happen with my own hands.
