Try this link, someone posted it earlier on the Tigers Blood Kernel thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=829731
This explains how to over clock a cpu and the what, why and how it does what is does. It works pretty much the same on the phone cpu but the phone voltage is way less
http://www.overclock.net/overclock.php?file=articles/overclocking-guide.htm
Hope that helps you

Froyo?

yes froyo build
WTF?!?!?!?!?HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET THAT MUCH?!?!?!?!?
With froyo and OCed @768 I get maximum 5.225 MFLOPS!
How the heck did you do that?
Sic, must be doctored in some way.... either that or - share the goods

Please!
Did you self yourself to the devil or something?
Nice i can only get 5.2
Im the one with the name Max?/London? i cheated acidently and asked the owner to delete all the hero things above 30mflops but he deleted my comment :/ and ignored me sory bout tht (btw its not 900mhz it 3.2ghz but it was in a vm so i put tht :d
Rom? Kernal? Please share
Since this guy obviously doesn't want to answer here's what I got from looking at his profile (the usefull stuff):
He was running X version of the Fusion ROM and his phone froze when he overclocked it at 768MHz so it seems like he beat it with a lower clock which makes NO sense:/
Woah lol nice digging and no that doesn't make sense lool
Hey guys
sorry to ask this question but its always been bugging me..Im pretty familiar with all the governors now. But there are more than keep popping up and from reading through the forums some say one thing and some say different about what each individual governor does....
My question is..What is BrazilianWax governor and what does its role do when using setcpu and what is savagedzen?
are they to do with performance and not intend for battery performance im just getting a bit confused now
if anyone would care to take time and just give me a brief explanation i would appreciate it....
Just to clear i am familiar with the normal governors like ondemand and the rest just the two above im wondering about Brazilianwax and savagezen...if someone can shed a light i would appreciate it

ahh nice one thanks for that buddy.....many thanks
Sorry I wanted to post this in faux's kernel thread but it looks like I don't have enough posts yet.
I tried searching but I could not find an answer for this.
In my SetCPU, the governor selection (scaling) is blank and disabled.
Any clues on as to why this is? I'm on an Atrix running CM7 and the 1.3 faux OC kernel.
Thanks
Search is your friend
You may not be able to post, but your search should still work in the dev forums.
Pretty sure you'll find your answer in one of those posts.
*EDIT* I know you said you searched, but sometimes narrowing it down to a specific forum or thread will greatly improve your results. I know searching from the main Atrix forum can be pretty useless.

Haha, that's too perfect. The broken link was just search results for "governors" in Faux's kernel thread. Sorry, I wasn't trying to be difficult, just wanted to get you accustomed to that search button . Tegra2 uses Dynamic Frequency Voltage Scaling in lieu of governors. Here's a post from faux from way back in July.
(Hopefully that one will stick.)

Why does my Xoom have governors then? They are both Tegra2 devices...
Sent from my Xoom using xda premium
Hey guys,
I am in need of anyone who has some broad knowledge of tweaking kernel governors. More specifically the lulzactive for the un named kernel.
I am running zr3d ics if that helps. I am also using cfq scheduler along with lulzactive. This is a fantastic combination that suits my needs very well. However this setting drains my battery pretty quickly. My question is how do I tweak it to still have performance as the upper hand but still have decent battery life? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Wow its been a couple days now. Come on guys, doesn't anybody know how to tweak this governor?

Dude, you posted it yesterday, take it easy.
Maybe google can help, im not a dev.
Actually it was on the 23rd and if you read my post I was asking for someone who had knowledge of this subject. You don't have to be a dev to know how to do this and obviously you didn't have to reply to my post since you don't know anything about what I am talking about. I guess I might have to search for myself if no one can help with this.

uhm, are you sure tweaking your governor is what you need? why not change the combination based on your needs/battery?
namely I would suggest taking a look at SetCPU... great app, allows for some governor tweaking, and more importantly allows you to switch between govs/schedulers depending on battery state, sleep/wake, open apps, battery temp and a host of other conditions.
hope this helps

He wants to tweak the governor itself, from what i understand.
SetCPU can do that as well, on some level
Thank you for your replies guys. I havnt thought of it like that. I'll give the app a go and see what happens with that. I am a big fan lulzactive. I'm always open for suggestions and solutions. I like learning new things about this stuff and I apreciate all your answers.
By the way, I am not imitidated to learn these kind of things. I am already good with programming web pages and games from python. Please do not underestimate my intelligence. This is a hobby for me and its fun for me. I would greatly appreciate it if you know of a guide or could point in the direction of where I can learn this stuff and I will give you two thank yous from me.

My apologies, I didn't pay attention to how I sounded, no part of that was meant to be an insult.
info on the lulzactive:
http://tegrak2x.blogspot.com/2011/11/lulzactive-governor-v2.html
app for tuning it:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tegrak.lulzactive
should you want to tune manually, all the relevant variables are located at:
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/lulzactive/
hope this helps, and sorry for sounding like a pompous ass
Thank you for being sincere. I did get that impression and glad that you cleared that up. And thank you for helping me out with these materials. I greatly appreciate the help.
Hello to all and thank you for taking the time to read this. I have a galaxy s5 tmobile obviously haha with android 4.4.2 and BNH5 baseband version. I recently about a month ago rooted my device using chain fire auto root. And the main purpose was for making the battery last longer and i have found alot on set cpu as far as what frequencies to under clock to but i have looked everywhere for how to use rom toolbox pro and no frills cpu. My questions are 1. What are safe frequencies to under clock to? 2. How do i create a profile on one of these programs (please provide a step by step guide as i do not know what the priority means or how to set priority meaning do i set priority at 100% for all profiles) i am very new to rooting and i have found alot of knowledge on xda but i still have many questions and haven't been able to find answers to them anywhere even on xda so i dont know if im looking in the wrong place or the answers dont exist. Also i use battery saver alot and by alot i mean 100% of the time. I would like to start steering away from this if at all possible. Using grey scale is getting kind of boring lol Thank you all very much in advance for your help and any information that you can provide
