I was using extended controls power bar and i believe it was responsible for breaking my data connection with AT&T. So I would advise anyone not currently using it not to install it. I got my data connection back by resetting my phone. There is a whole thread on the data conection problem here:

The 4 power widgets that come with the Atrix work OK, but they are big and ugly for my screens. I am wondering if anyone is using a 3rd party power bar that works with no issues. thanks
I also have been looking for a mod or app to get the power toggles in the pull down notification bar. I tried Status Bar Settings and the buttons dont work at all.
Coming from the Captivate, I really miss these. I use the power widget right now, but would like it in the pull down.
I am using the free version of Toggle Settings. It allows me to set up multiple profiles and with that can control all power options except for gps. That can be assigned to the pull down and it can be accessed there to change power options.
Im using one of the free power control widgets and its also messing up my data connection. The stock android power control works fine.
i use switcherpro widget, very small transparent icons with no background and up to 8 controls that you can set. no problems with data connection.

I've been using Extended Controls with no problems so far, but I will monitor it for problems. The only thing I've experienced with it so far is a laggy led flashlight switch.

Those of you who miss not being able to tap the the task bar in 2.2 (like you could in 1.6) can install an awesome app that lets you open most important quick settings from the task bar by sliding the task bar down. The app is free, its called Quick Setting (by Sergey Shafarenka). Just slide the top task bar and you will see the option for quick settings, then tap it and you will find: ringer, volume control, bluetooth, wi-fi, gps, mobile data. battery meter, and brightness.
If you prefer separate icons, you can try Status Bar Switch by friedflow for wi-fi and bluetooth - both free. I found them first but now that I learned about the Quick Setting App - I may just use it for everything.
Anyway, try it and let me know what you think.
i just tried it, and it looks really cool, specially together with his other app the battery widget which is cooler than the battery widget i had.
Only one thing missing, the option to be able to turn on airplane mode keeping wifi on
+1 for Quick Settings. Ive been using this app since my X10. One of the first apps I installed on my Streak, and couldn't live without it.
Up! +1
I've been using this excellent little app for 3 weeks already. It even give the shortcut for LED flashlight (given you configure it properly) so no need other 3rd party app for flashlight which may or may not work on our streak.
You can even customize what kind of settings you wanted to show, including GPS, mobile data, autosync data, wifi hotspot, airplane mode, auto rotation (yay!).
Edit: i show this to my friend and now his satisfy with it in his desirez
Great Find
Must have app!!!
Thx
Coupled with Visual Task Switcher (for mutli-tasking switch), my streak is finally user friendly
Question for anyone using Extended Controls on the Atrix. I want to be able to place Extended Controls in my notification bar, but to also be able to eliminate having the widget on my Home screen. I find that if I remove the widget, it also no longer shows up when I bring the notification area down and tap on the EC. Anyone know how to do this, or is it necessary to have the widget on the Home screen, in which case, it seems like a waste of time to put it in the Notification Bar.
Thanks.
I'm not sure about EC, but if you use Widgetsoid you can add them to the notification bar and then set the widget that's on the homescreen to invisible, so that it's ONLY in the notification bar...I believe. There's a free widgetsoid, so you could always try that out!

I'll try it out. Thanks for the suggestion!
Another work around for not having buttons on the notification bar is if you use
swipePad + mySettings
just swipe on the corners to mySettings and change your settings through there. IMO best way.

Sounds like a novel approach. I'll try that too. Thanks!
Widgetsoid blows because..
if you click on a toggle it is not truly a toggle(in notification area) because it launches another toggle window and you cannot toggle directly from notification area

That's true. I guess it depends on the phone. I'm trying the Swipe Pad + My Settings suggestion and finding that I'm liking those apps a lot. The Swipe Pad seems to add a lot of additional functionality. Thanks.

That's true. If EC does it better while still hiding the home screen widget, then by all means use that! Just offering other ideas in case it doesn't.
May not be what you're looking for/more work than you want to do, but CM7 pre beta2 has notification bar controls built in with a bevy of other new features that make day to day use more convenient. I've been using it as my daily driver since pre beta 1 was posted and love it. Minus the few addressed issues that are being worked on now it's the best rom available IMHO.
Hi. Recent, happy convert to CM7.1 on my Nexus One.
Question, though. I use Widgetsoid, and now that I'm root, I'm using the root data toggle method. This works, but the widget provides no feedback about what state you're in. So when I click it, I need to wait several seconds until the notification bar icon appears (or disappears) to find out if the click took. Also, If I have WIFI up, the cell data notification icon goes away, so I don't know whether cell data is also enabled. Since I routinely turn off data to preserve the battery when I'm not using it, this is a frequent issue.
So. Is there a way to get Widgetsoid to light up the data toggle widget when data is enabled? Doesn't seem to be - which is funny, because I used to use the old 2g/3g toggle, which did light up to indicate whether data was enabled, even though the widget itself was only a shortcut to the data settings.
Or... is there another widget that works the way I want?
Anyone know why the HTC WiFi switch is not just turning on and off the wifi, instead its bringing you to the wifi settings?

Not sure.. I use Power control App .. which also allows you to add a row of toggles to your notification pull down. It has a native flashlight toggle as well which is handy.

Are you talking about the "Power Control" HTC widget? That's what I use to avoid this PITA with wifi. If that's what you use too, then where did you find flashlight and the ability to add toggles to notification area?

No, it's an app in the play store: Power Control Plus
Does anyone know of a way to get the mobile data toggle that used to be on the note 2 in the notification panel?
Thanks

I put together a tasker task for this purpose that turns off mobile data, waits 5 seconds, then re-enables it. Exported it as an apk/app if you'd like to use it. No requirement to have tasker installed.
Edit:
Re-reading this, I realized there may be some confusion as to what this does. It does not add the option to the notification panel but rather simply allows you to have an app on your home screen to perform this data toggle. For me, I use this primarily when I get "stuck" on 4G data and my device isn't making the transition back to 3G quick enough. I've also found that a quick toggle solves most other connectivity issues pretty quickly. Call it a work around to Sprint's... growing pain inflicted network.
