Is there a free way of unlocking my Hero to use on another network? My current one is locked to T-Mobile (bought as a G2 Touch) but would like to use it with an O2 Sim

Hey guys, I'm newbie to modern phone stuff. Just got an AT&T Aria phone. It was brand new in the box, never used, without AT&T sim card. Does it mean the phone is not locked for AT&T and can be used in Europe with local operators ?

No. It is locked. If it was never used, then it could never be unlocked (someone would need to unlock it). If you are planning to use it in Europe, it would be better if you got an HTC Gratia which you could say is the Europe version of the Aria.
Should I get the unlock code in this case ?

Yes, you will need an unlock code to use the Aria in Europe with other carriers' SIM cards.
I have an AT&T unlocked htc one x+ that i want to use with prepaid T-Mobile sim card, do i need to change the original AT&T Rom that comes with my phone to be able to use it with T-Mobile or i need to change only the APN settings ?
In case that i need to change the Rom which one do you recommend for T-Mobile to use LTE speeds ?

It will work outside the US, with SIM unlock.
But I would caution against buying the AT&T variant for a couple reasons:
- There is an Asian variant available. You haven't stated your carrier/country, but does the Asian variant available in your country?
- Have you researched the band compatibility? Is the AT&T variant any more/less compatible than the Asian variant?
- Warranty on the AT&T version will be void. If the Asian version is available to you, it should have full warranty
- WiFi hotspot will be disabled on the AT&T variant, unless you unlock the bootloader and root
Can an IUSACELL (AT&T Mexico) phone be used on AT&T in the US without unlocking?
I recently bought a lot of 5 Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pros on ebay. I only needed one of them, so now I want to sell the rest of them. The thing is they are carrier locked to IUSACELL, a Mexican carrier who was bought out by AT&T to become part of AT&T Mexico. My question is can these phones be activated on American AT&T in the US without having to unlock them? Thanks in advance.
I have a problem with my phone (Sprint CDMA moto e 2nd gen) not seeing a T-Mobile sim card (GSM) but when I put in the sprint micro-sim it sees it perfectly (I use an adapter to nano-sim because i used T-Mobile before on my iPhone 6S
The Sprint XT1526 is SIM-locked. You'll need to obtain the unlock code from Sprint (not sure if there's a separate code for domestic unlock, either). Might be easier to just return it and purchase either the US Cellular XT1526 (which has all the same bands as the Sprint model but is SIM unlocked out of the box), or an unlocked XT1527 (Moto-direct verison is SIM unlocked, AT&T/GoPhone/Cricket models are SIM locked but you can get the unlock code for them easy and free via AT&T if you don't power it on beforehand).
