Since on MIUI thread it says FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS ON CM7 THREAD BUT INSTALL THE MIUI FILE NOT CM7, you probably should.
the miui is kind of a theme/rom mostly themed.
It's a themed CM7, but with a hell of extras.

Well what exactly do the nightly updates do.... I heard they cause more problems then fix lol
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App

Where'd you hear that?
They add fixes to w/e the CM team does.
If your going to stick with CM7, you should atleast update it when they give you a flashable update .zip
They help. trust me. they bring improvements.
Some might bring in a whole new bug, but thats why the next nightly update fixes it.

I would look at other roms here in your devices section as the CM team may not have updated that rom since Nov. They are no longer doing nightlies so it may be true.

From what I can tell using Google Translate on that page, the post replies seem to indicate that its CM7 relabeled as CM9, so in short....a phony.

For whatever reason I had some apps that would not be seen, and another issue with some apps not being able to be updated or installed. Even after a Full Wipe. It believe it was due to the way the file system was configured.
Here is the GAPPS that was referenced.
Is the lag any better on this one? I ask because why I loved the interface of CM7, it seemed that as time went on the lag got worse and worse. I tried many different things to reduce or eliminate it and while at times I made it better, it would always end up lagging again. I've been known to flash 3 or 4 different roms to my phone in a day and currently (because of lag and wifi issues) I am running my Streakin' rom that was based off of 354. Yes, I went back to Froyo, however I doubt that will last either....
In my opinion, the laggyness is still there. Granted, it is not as bad as it was.
It may not be CM9 but certainly works a lot better than the existing version of CM7. Is a lot smoother and faster in my opinion. But I have no data to back it up..
The "gb" in the name of the gApps package is a dead giveaway...
Anyway... how many of you successfully have this running?

[Q] is there a MIUI like rom for the SGSIII?

hey guys, just moved from Motorola Atrix to SGSIII today...i used MiUi v4 on my atrix, and loved it very much...
so my question is there any sgs3 miui like rom?
on the screenshots in the dev area they all look almost the same...
thanks for any answer
Right now there isn't a MIUI rom for the SGS3. ROMs available are either pure Android or Touchwiz based. However now that CM9 is in nightly build status, I am sure someone will start to work on a MIUI port.
Not a ROM, but there is a Miui launcher in the play store.
thanks fellas...now that you say it,i think i'm gonna try and learn some rom porting)) maybe i can port MIUI to SGS3 myself

Which Roms ??

Ok, was wondering how many would be using Cm and How many would be using Miui or ics. So thought of making a thread with Poll Vote .
Please vote for the rom which is ur favourite and without which you cant live For example: after trying various roms always you come back to that specific rom, forme its DSC
I think it will also will helpful to Developers to know how many are using there rom (I think so)
Hoping 4 ur co-operation
EDIT: sorry N0p in Hurry I just forgot to add DSC, actually meant to add dsc at number 1, bt forgot
I could find way to change the poll and add DSC, any1 can helpout
Edit/Update- Ok, thanks Mike Channon(forum Admin) for helping me out with teh Poll.

Sorry if i have mentioned anydev's name or Rom's name wrong

So, far LongHorn Cm is wining , come on DSC Fans ..............no DSC Fan!!!! (Disclamer: i am nt trying to create a compitive feel here, just fun
You might want to add Froyo or Stock Roms.
I am looking forward for CyanogenMod 9 or 10 but this early version is not useable as daily ROM. I am at DSC and I am satisfied with it now.

Glad to see this is being continued!
I'm assuming your building from the latest source at the time of the build or are you making any other tweaks and changes?
So this is the same as the CM10 nighties with the addition of the FJ's kernel as standard.
SO glad our Notes are getting the support they deserved.
I still it's the most amazing device ever and you just keep making it better and better.
Thanks so much for this! As soon as I'm allowed to thank people again (just a few more hours I think lol) I'll thank you!
Great Job!

It basically is just latest source with FJ's kernel. I may be adding in some fixes before they hit nightly though. I do realize we could all use nightlys, but I like the small community we built up, as well as the think tank of sorts. I think it's better than all going our separate ways.
just curious, will i be able to flash this over CWM touch recovery?? I tried doing quincyatt nightlies before, flashing them over CWM touch, but they fail!

Well, if you couldn't before, you probably won't be able to now either. You have two options though. You can update to the latest CWM and it should work, or you could install TWRP which I recommend. I have a link above to TWRP and the instructions are easy to follow.
