I'm trying to view live streaming traffic video on a web site with my Atrix 4G, but all I'm seeing in the video window on that site is a little Lego cube with question marks on the sides. There is a note on the site that says to download Windows Media Player if you can't view the stream. On another site (CalTrans traffic conditions) when I touched on a camera icon to open a photo of that location, then touched on the link that says "go to live camera", the Atrix seemed to momentarily try to start Rockplayer, but then it returned to the browser where I now see a quick error message that it can't play that .asx content. And I also think I broke something, because before when I touched on the little red camera icons, I at least got the still photo of that location, but now the window won't even show the photos, only the "go to live camera" link. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure you can only view flash streams but don't take my word for it.

I am having problems viewing videos off of websites like ESPN or CBSSPORTS, I can get the sound fine but it says "no video signal". The video comes up fine on the iPhone 3g but not on my Aria. Talked with my AT&T rep and he said could be a problem with the media player and would get back to me when he found an answer. Anyone have any ideas where to look for an answer?
Thanks
Use skyfire as your browser, it lets you watch most flash video.

Getting the same results using the Skyfire browser. I'll get audio but no video. I've tried the Rockplayer media player and I get video but no sound. Any other ideas?
Hello! I have a twonky server at home. When I open the sony dlna app on the tablet my server is listed and I can Browse all the content of the media server. The problem is when I try to see photos (jpg format) they are all marked with a yellow triangle with an exclamation inside, and when I click on the photo I receive a message saying "this device can't play this content". So the only media I can play are my collection of mp3 that plays without problems.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
I'm gonna answer myself in case of someone has the same issue. I think the sony dlna app has some kind of resolution/Mb limit. Most of my photos have a resolution about 5 to 12 Megapixels that can't be viewed, but some photos with a low resolution are displayed without problems.
Same here!
Also have the same problem. It seems that any pic above 1 Mb or so will not be shown. I don't always have the yellow triangle, I just have a black screen with some grey icon.
Also tried almost all other dlna apps from the market but then my problem is that no single app will recognize my Iomega NAS
Anyone any ideas?
any progress on this one? No DLNA apps in the market?
Well, I've been trying Eminent DLNA and HomeDia. Although I didn't had much time to play with them, apparently both do their job, the choice is a matter of personal taste.

Skifta works for everything and is free but a bit slow during first start up . BubbleUpnp works for videos and music but its free version is limited. For all video formats support install mx video player and the tegra codecs of it.

You can try ArkMC application https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arkudadigital.arkmc.gm, it works with pictuers as well. To check it - try Free Version at first.
Pixel Media has both client and server DLNA apps. Both are free. Work like a charm.

On my E3D I used to use MXplayer and UPnP browser to play videos off of a TVersity setup. TVersity is great, I use it to stream movies to all of the devices in my home.
Just share the folder with movies on your desktop. use esfile explorer to find the shares. just swipe to the net tab, add new, scan. find your pc and hit the file you want to watch. if your movie isn't mp4 you can use mono or vplayer to watch with out converting

This is much cleaner than my setup. I'll have to try this out.
Nevermind got it working
It seems to stutter on playback. Only .mp4 file I had to try was a 4GB 1080p movie so that might be the problem.
New issue didn't want to start another thread. Whenever I get a notification (like facebook or something non text message) I can pull down the notification bar from the lockscreen (standard One no pin/patteren) but when I click on the notification it doesnt go to the app. I still have to unlock the phone. After that the app is open already

How do I turn that off?
Hi there, i am a proud owner of an i9300, and im searching for a proper youtube downloader/converter to use. I've tested TubeMusic which is quite good ( it embeds into the official android youtube application, and whe u see a video, you press "share" icon and it adds the "Download" option. The only problem is that the files downloaded can only be played properly with the "Tube Music" player. They are still in .mp3 format and they are stored in the hidden fodler ".tubemusic" but the names are all messed up. I'd love if they could give us the setting to download wherever we want, and if it didnt mess with the mp3 names. Any ideas?
I've always used 'Tubemate' which isn't on Google play anymore but you can it from searching google.
You can specify what quality/resolution it downloads in or as an mp3. I would also be interested if anyone else has some other suggestions for YouTube downloaders.
Tubemate
Hm.. Im trying it right now, seems good but it doesnt embed in the official youtube application. Its an application on its own. Very good tho! Thanks!
If you use the proper youtube app, you can enable 'preload' (either on subscriptions or watch later).
I use Opera Mini to download YouTube vids. I navigate to the site, search for the video and when I click play or watch it automatically downloads the video in either mp4 or 3gp format depending on if I have his or low video setting enabled. Not sure if this is stock on the opera mini or if I downloaded something to enable it but it used to do the same on my Desire Z with the same app.

Google wants to leverage it's Youtube platform as a delivery network for commercial entities. That won't work if everyone can install an app to rip the video within seconds.
So they have to make it somewhat harder, since it's technically not possible to block such services/apps entirely.

By "embed" do you mean that this app is added as an intent from the Share option available on any YouTube video?
If so, TubeMate does this as well. Actually almost any app that is registered as a video filetype handler should be available from YouTube's Share menu.
