After gaining s-off perm root using the described method the "My Location" service is not working on my home screen or in maps. I have all the services checked but I am getting no place. Any one else in the same boat? Any suggestions?
reboot a couple of times. I had the same issue. It finally came back
Fixed so far
After clearing the maps cache and rebooting twice like magic it works. Thank god.
glad to see all the rooting issues are easily fixed with reboots and clearing cache.

I rooted last night and ever since the HTC clock/weather widget and Google Maps shows my current location to Westland, MI which is definitely incorrect.... I live in Nashville, TN. Any ideas? Thus far I've tried all the basics, restart phone, turn off phone w/ battery pull for 30 seconds, clear data on weather apps in phone, and ofcourse toggle GPS on and off several times. Everytime I turn GPS back on and it "locates" me it gets it wrong. I've tried all of the things suggested for older HTC devices with the same issue with no luck. Any help would be appreciated! Or maybe this is some divine sign that I should move to Westland to see what is in store for me.... Thank you to everyone here for all that you do!

+1 for that app, i had to use it all the time with my HTC Hero. my GPS on my thunderbolt has been good so far, fingers crossed.
still didn't work??? As far as I know I followed what you said exactly... Thank you so much for your help!
Got it fixed. Basically while rooting, i gained root succesfully but I what I believe happened was i flashed the custom firmware twice, instead of flashing the downgraded one first, and then flashing the customized firmware. I realized this because I noticed "S-ON" in the bootloader, so I started from scratch and boom, it was fixed. I noticed the location was off and when I was driving around today it was changing my "location" to random places, and also each "location" change would also change timezones... (went from 11:18AM to 5:18PM actually one time, within 5 miles of the different "locations"). So hopefully no one else had this much difficulty paying attention like I did, but if you did, here's your fix! Now rooted, S-OFF, and all is well here in Nashville. Thanks!
Go predators! I live about 44 miles down the raod east of nashvile, however i cant help u eith your problem

Lately my apps won't update. This happens both when using WiFi and 3G. The app appears to have downloaded, then gets stuck on installing.
I have tried rebooting phone as well as clearing cache and data from the applications menu (for the market app). I also ran a cache cleaner thinking maybe that would help.
Does anyone have any ideas? Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Thanks!
EDIT: nevermind. I had purchased a bunch of those 10 cent apps which were pretty large. I decided to try moving them to the sd card, and that did the trick. All my apps are now updating.
i've been having the same issues with my phone... my phone is rooted though so im not sure if there's some glitch thats causing this or what... regardless of being on wifi or even in 3g/4g areas... it pops up error triangles in the status bar and will not even download... has anyone else ran into this issue???
Hi
I've been using Longhorn 2.9.3 from a fresh install and really love the rom.
Everything works great except where lately I've been having issues where the phone just reboots out of the blue.
This has happened on average 10-15 times this past week.
Can anyone help?
Cheers
Nico

Cheers mate,
I haven't installed any apps since about a week before this started.
Do you know of any apps that may cause this? as removing them one at a time and waiting for it to happen again is going to take ages.
It seems to have gotten better this last week.. only 1 or 2 reboots.
Further Indications......
Hi folks,
I'm having the same issues with Longhorn 2.9.3 Final, but it only seems to randomly reboot when the the phone is left idle and the screen goes off, So my first attempt was to disable the lock screen - no effect, then I tried certain background apps, such as Go Launcher EX, followed now by Facebook, and a local taxi app, nothing as yet.
I have tried wiping various caches, but it made no difference unfortunately.
If anybody know anything relevant to this issue don't hesitate but to share it with us, please.
I really am very fond of this custom ROM, and don't want to abandon it.
Thanks in advance
Ben.

After going through clearing caches, replacing internal and external SD cards, cleaning the back door blah blah blah I found the following.
When I ran the Maps app, it asked if I wanted to use wifi for location to which I responded yes... mistake! If the wifi location option is checked, the phone seems try to use wifi when it is asleep and ends up rebooting.
I found this by turning the wifi off which made the phone sleep without re-booting and then by turning wifi on and disabling wifi location in Maps.
A long, involved process but now my Streak is rock steady and I don't have to think about reverting to a stock ROM... hooray

Stability update...
Uptime 600h
Previously would reboot twice a day or more
Very happy with the ROM now
I am having this problem also
I have a reboot problem as described above. The problem is that when I disable the use wireless networks option it does not disable. That is I leave the screen. Go back to it and it is still checked.
Please Help.
Web....
what kernel and baseband have you using?
Same here...
I 've been faceing the same problem exactly... latest longhorn randomly reboots, usually first the 3 buttons flash a few times before the reboot...
I downloaded and installed the 407 baseband and radio, then longhorn, did all wipe and dell reset, still the same ...
I've read this forum a few times, still though, would anyone be so kind to direct me towards a link here, where I could in fact revert the dell to an official rom version, before trying anything else?
Tnx in advance

I ended up disabling the Wifi location and my Streak works great. I had some app installed that was messing with me disabling/changing the wifi location settings. Sometimes I could not even disable wifi.
I remove a ton of apps. Was able to disable location via wifi and my phone has been working great ever since.
I can confirm that I had a problem with this and disabling it fixed it.
To begin I love this ROM, it removes all the bloat and looks great; I just have a few problems I can't seem to resolve.
1. When I first set up my google account I managed to sync my gmail, contacts, etc. just fine to the phone. However when I tried to use either Google Plus or Google Now I was receiving both connection errors or security errors (Couldn't sign in - A problem occurred while communicating with Google Servers.). I managed to solve the latter by removing the network time synchronization options, however the connection problem persists. If I leave these options disabled all of my google apps cease to function so I've re-enabled them. Note at no point in time did my data stop working, I can browse the net just fine on the phone.
I have noticed that someone did post about similar issues in the main thread for the rom, however I was unable to find the solution they used to solve the problem. I would appreciate any help that could be provided.
If it is of any help I did attempt to flash Speed Rom, and it doesn't have these issues, so it leads me to believe it is some sort of configuration error.
2. GPS doesn't appear to be getting a lock. I'm indoors so this may be the reason for it not working, however the icon shows that it has gathered a lock, but my accuracy remains at 30 meters. I will test this further when I am out and about tomorrow to see if it works any better.
1. This problem came from Google server that has been widely reported on other forums as well. Honestly I don't know how to fixed it but I would recommend you try to re-flash the rom. Perhaps the data were save while Google server acted up and hence it saved to your phone. I personally turn-off the Google Now since it consumed too much battery though.
2. GPS: Download GPS Status & Toolbox or Faster Fix to get the right regional for your location. read the description when downloading those app since they may required Busybox installed
In order for GPS fast and accurate locked, sometime you need to turn-on Google Location service
Good luck
First and foremost, thank you for your response.
I did as you suggested and re-installed the rom. This time before doing anything else I enabled only my wifi and attempted to add an account right away.
System Settings > Accounts & sync > ADD ACCOUNT
Doing this left me with the following message:
"Couldn't sign in
Can't establish a reliable connection to the server.
This could be a temporary problem or your android device may not be provisioned for data services. If it continues, call Customer Care."
Note this is over wifi not 3G. I have tried a few times to re-flash this rom and that doesn't seem to help. Any other idea's?
Did you, by any chance, turn-on data in setting>mobile data ?
This last time I didn't. Since I was using wifi I figured I wouldn't need to turn on my data?

Doesn't hurt to try my friend
By turning on 3G I have managed to log into my account and have it sync. However I am still getting a "Sign-in error".
Also the browser was unable to sync so I've disabled that. Now when I launch Google Plus I get the following:
"No connection
Couldn't connect to the server."
And with Google Now I'm getting
"Network error..."
Had this problem earlier too. It happened to me because I didn't do a data wipe when upgrading from Craigtuts earlier rom. HTH

Just a quick update, I have managed to get this ROM working.
There was suggestion in the original thread, by Ninjistix, for this ROM suggesting the installation of SpeedROM 7.8. Once installed go ahead and log into your google account, then flash this ROM by "formatting" / "wiping" everything except data. THIS DID NOT WORK FOR ME.
Out of desperation, I decided to restore my backed up STOCK rom. After doing so I, I logged into my google account and found that everything was working, no sign-in errors from anything at all. So I wiped everything EXCEPT data, flashed this rom and its been working perfectly since.
I'd like to thank Ninjistix for inspiring my fix and craigtut for making such a beautiful rom. Hopefully one of these two methods works for everyone else trying to flash this ROM.

thanks for the shout out, i was just coming here to direct you to one of my other post's related to that annoying sign-in error, we still haven't figured out the main reason behind it yet, but i as long as we have the work around of keeping the (user) data then i guess "all's well that ends well"
I went from a working GPS, to rooting with root66 then CASUAL to unlock the bootloader. In jedi rom, which says it has a GPS fix, the gps does not work. Going back to my restore file that is stock, the gps does not lock on. Also I have tried calling the ##GPSCLRX# and wiping everything and trying to write a new file. The other major change I have tried is getting google wallet to work (changin the build.prop but that has been restored since I have edited).
Any fix for my gps? Any config files out there or something I can do to check the settings? I'll post in here if I find the solution but nothing seems to be working. I have tested another phone in the same spot and the gps signal seems to be fine. Have also tried to while moving. I can get an accurate "lock" within 20m on google map but navigation is always "searching for gps"
Is verizon doing something to block me from gps? Any ideas how i can fix this?
** have tried turning off my wifi, the wifi does disrupt it but is not the cause**
- possibly trying a new rom have tried jedi and clean, downloading PACMAN
Yup, no replies... but anyway
What I did to fix the GPS signal on my SCH-I605 VZW note 2
Wiped the system, cache, dalvik and factory reset in twrp 2.3.2.3
Installed Jedi, and seems to work on meanbean.
Did not enable anything, did not setup anything, and did not use the phone after booting.
Went to google play store and got the gps tool, idk the one that pops up when you type in gps
Found a good signal, the green bars were all up and waited a few, read somewhere ~15 minutes. After that installed maps and was ok!
Build.prop was set to default, root66 and casual used to root unlock. Hope this helps
You might not have gotten any replies because this has been repeatedly discussed as the fix.
