Has anyone seen the service "SIMServiceGuard" running in the background on your Dell Streak? Is this service originally with the tab/phone right out of the box or is it part of an app installed from the Android market?
I am thinking its part of the ES Security Manager app i insalled from the app store. if so, then is it necessary for this to run?

I recently rooted my Droid Eris and currently am running 2.3.3 on it and was wondering if there is añyway to update the market to run applications that were not available on the 2.1 Eris? An example I am trying to install stupid zombies but even the apk file wont let it install.. please help
I'm not sure about that particular app but most apps that can't be found in the market on the Eris are not listed because they aren't compatible with the hardware. That said, some of the apps that can't be found on the market for the Eris can be found on sites like getjar. Not all of them run well or at all though.

A random app just appeared in My Apps in the Android Market app.
There is no uninstall button, nor can I find it in /system/app or /data/app. It does not appear in Titanium Backup either.
It is called karoges, by cloudnine.
I am worried if this is some kind of malware. Has anyone seen this?

If I were you I would wipe data/factory reset or even Odin.

This is strange but I have the same issue with 3 apps. The first is called karoges, the second one Lovely Sky Live Wallpaper and the third is in Chinese :\
This morning most of my apps disappeared from the Market under my apps and when I performed a Full wipe and installed the stock rom these 3 apps appeared on my account which I never purchased or installed.
Now they won't go away and I have to reinstall most of my apps!
The karoges app has the same icon as the stock TMobile video player 1.0. For some reason I decided to link all user and system apps to the Market. After removing this video 1.0 player the karoges app disappeared from market.
I am guessing that is the source of the issue.

I need to run the ATT UVerse app on my tablet, but spoofed as a Phone.
Device = HP Touchpad w/ Cyanogenmod, ICS 4.0.4
I have tried XPosed Installer and App Settings, Market Helper, and modifying my build.prop
It does not appear to be an issue with the Play Store, but the app itself.
Any thoughts on how to get this app thinking my tablet is a phone?

I recently rooted my android phone. Today, i was using my phone and suddenly i see a notification in the status bar. It said, "Secret video recorder has been installed" - a notification seen when any app is installed from the play store. This sent a chill down my spine.
- is it possible that my phone has been hacked. And someone is controlling it
- Has my phone security been compromised
- I also though, may be my google account password has been leaked. And someone simple installed the app from the web play store using my account.
Can anyone please suggest, what exactly might have happened. I have uninstalled that app and also searched my app list for any potential malware. I also wanted to know about the security vulnerabilities which come with rooting a phone. I am very worried about my data.

The app is installed. Im able to open it. But the app is not listed, because that is a functionality of the application.
As stated in play store
"Its completely hidden in every way, there will be no icon in your application list and no trace of this app ever being opened. Complete stealth!"
Now I dont want a phantom app running in my phone. So please help me remove the application

Found it.
The app wont be listed in the Settings->apps
Instead we need to go to My apps in Play store. From there Im able to uninstall the application.
