Use MyBackup Root to backup your contacts, sms and bookmarks if you dont want to do it from xrecovery. Its a free app in the market. Then you can just use titanium backup to backup the app and restore it in the new ROM and restore your backups. MyBackup Root works restoring backups between android versions so I use that instead of restoring data from XRecovery.

MY Backup root works good however there is one trick.
don't sync your account to any id ( gmail / facebook or anywhere) before restoring the contact.
if you try restoring contact in such case your restore has high chances of failure.

I use Titanium Backup. It's in the market and I've never bad any problems with it. You will need to be rooted in order for it to work.

ubt seem to work fine for me. was simple enough to set up and backup. kinda doesn't let you know when it finishes backing up and restoring but otherwise fine. have only tried it on while flashing the same stock rom I had. I'll probably have to try another after flashing li2

Try to reflash the rom with just wiping cache and dalvic and see if that works. Try that before you restore the data again, and if it works then your problem is restoring the messaging data
I come from simpliatic rom 3
And i didnt restore the messaging data
I just restored the contacts and call log

Ok, well if you restore any data it could cause problems. So try to reflash the rom without restoring data and see if everything is working, then restore what you need one by one and test them after to rule out the restoring of data
i suggest you flash another ROM to make everything more easy
i find "apk pushing" complicated lol
anyway, here is a detailed guide on how to get back with stock rom: http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/mobile-ap...ck-android-rom-on-samsung-galaxy-s2-50007880/
hope this helps!
cheers

Do a full backup with Titanium Backup. All apps and their data including system ones will be backed up. Wifi pass bluetooth pairings whatever you need except kernel or so. You will get what you want.
