I want some apps can do more than just trimming my video, may someone recommend me an apps can edit or create a video just like window movie maker did? (example:adding a song and picture to become a video)

Well I don't like the stock multimedia app timescape at all. It is terribly slow and stuffed with useless random sorting of things like "most viewed" "most recent". Who uses these anyways? They don't even have a widget for the music player!
I am using power amp for music, quickpic for photos (I know it's only got like 10000 to 50000 downloads, but it is simple and it works! God, this is all I ever wanted. Btw this awesome thing has multiple picture sharing which is cool).
Once I abandoned music and picture in Mediascape, it is pointless to use it for video only. I don't watch movies or anything with my phone, but I do shoot a LOT of hd videos and want access to them as quickly and easily as possible. I've been trying out quite a few softwares from the market but none of them serve my purpose. Any suggestions? Comments?
i use the stock gallery for pics, winamp for music.
I use RockPlayer for watching movies and mediascape for watching the recorded HD videos.. PowerAmp for music because it is simply the best with FLAC codec support.. Gallery for pictures..
Tried rockplayer already, it's useless cuz it doesn't display thumbnails. How am I supposed to navigate through the videos without thumbnails?
I've been using Real Player for videos, it is kind of nice and with thumbnail support...
Sent from my X10i
Mplayer is the best with great codex support ...
I use PowerAmp for music, it supports all file formats (I think), lyrics etc...
And mediascape for videos and images. Rockplayer for non-.mp4/.wmv. =)
I like doubletwist because it's got a simple look to it. Can play music and videos. Check it out.
i have 3 video players on here and 1 doesnt read anything. i have mostly mpg and divx. and the other 2 wont allow me to get back to the main menu. i have to forward the video all the way to the end to have the list of videos come back up again. can someone recommend a good video player. im willing to pay for one doesnt have to be free
I use Mx video player.
use mx video player [the free version which has ad's] and select specific file folders for the app to read from. that way you will only have to go through the videos you specifically want to watch.
the only difference between the free and paid is ads versus no ads.
So as you know, the stock video player has this feature which plays short clips of all the videos you have. This is great and all, but I find that when I insert my sd card which contains lots of mkv videos, it causes a horrible lag when opening the video player. I assume it's because the phone takes a while to generate previews for the mkv files, since it doesn't happen when I insert another sd card that contains just as many videos, but in other formats.
So, my question is, is there a way to disable the video preview? Like maybe editing a text file somewhere?

I really like BS Player and use it constantly on my Galaxy Tab 10.1.
I find it has a fantastic LAN streaming capability and great interface. However, it auto selects the thumbnails.
This isn't necessarily a problem for me bc I use it set to 'file list'.
However, my 5 yr old can't read yet, so I set it to Thumbnails.
Unfortunately, the auto gen thumbnail feature selects some random frame 99% of the time, and the image will have no bearing on the movie whatsoever.
Is there another video player that allows you to select your own thumbnail from a screenshot or picture file?
Tnx
After a bit of searching I found "Archos Video Player".
It doesnt allow user defined thumbnails but instead it reads the movie title, searches the web and grabs the official movie poster for the film.
Way better then some screen cap from the video.
The best part is there's an option to auto open your vids with another player.
I just use archos to browse my movies and play with BS Player.
Not only do I use it for my daughter, it looks so good I use it for myself.
My use case: The tablet will mostly be idle, sitting on a table. I may pick up the tablet to show someone a video. ONLY when I pick up the tablet to show the video, I want to record a "reaction video" via the "selfie" camera.
What I don't want is an hour or two of video that's shooting nothing.
Are there any apps that are good for this?
Bump? Any ideas?
Starting with Android Nougat you can launch 2 apps at once: In the outlined scenario both the videoplayer and the camera app.

Would that require a split-screen? I want to have a full-screen video player, with a video-camera app "invisible".
I'm not sure if there's a video-camera app that can do that, in addition to only recording when I'm showing a video.
Basically, I think I want to "pin" the video player app, so I can open that with a button-press, and also have that (or motion detection? or something else?) start the video-camera recording.

To achieve this I guess you've to create such an app at your own.
