On my device camera don't work:
when i try to take picture it freezes and don't take any photos.
Tried in the stock camera and vignette, both don't work.
Problem in cm7 v 5.0, in CM6 v 3.4 all was good.

i tested, yes, camera illusion works fine, but resolution...
Max resolution of Camera Illusion is 320x240
I read in CM7v5.0 thread, this is a known bug for many people, camera works only max 3 MP and Vignette cannot save the photos...
If you need it, go back to Floyo and wait till a new version is released.

fxcamera and camera 360. i personally prefer fxcamera.
is vignette still a great choise or not? I want a camera app that has some stabilisation functionaly (to try take sharper photos in the dark for example, when it takes a longer time), but I want to make sure it's a good choise before I pay for the app.
Or are there any other recommendations meanwhile?

I'd have to say Camera 360 is nice.
camera 360 wouldn't open on my wildfire (also not compatible through market). Vignette seemed to make worse photos than the standard CM7 app and takes like 20 seconds after each photo until it is finished :s Even on 5MP en superfine quality. So I guess I better keep using the standard app (even though it looks like ****), at least that can film too
i can't find any of these on the market!
i just tried to look for fxcamera and camera 360 but it was a complete fail.

well guys finally i made "camera 360" usable with wildfire...its still in its beta stages....little bit of bugs are there....like Geo tagging is not working...and few of its advanced featured had been disabled by me due to the lack of a powerful arm7 processor n gpu ...but auto focus..manual focus and full quality 5.1 mp super fine images have been enabled....its actually better than the stock htc camera...its bit laggy while processing the images...but that wont effect....you can click while its processing the image in background...100% uncompressed image has been enabled...you can take the best quality pics that can is possible by the camera...njoy...
please uninstall mimu camera before installing this...its uses the same lib n frame files...may cause force shutdown if used together
do give feedback....i wanna know the bugs that you are facing....

I know that the camcorder is not working ATM but i read something about the MIUI Camera which should works fine.
I found also the .apk but nothing happens when i put it in the folder "system/apps/.
No additional App in the Menu and no reaction by pressing the camera button.
Any ideas?

I've tried Vignette on other Phones and i find it quite good.
But I miss sometimes the Videorecording function mainly because I record videos frequently in the tuning scene
Video Camera illusion was exactly 5 minutes on my x10
well...if you want a good camera, you have 2 options.
1. go back to 2.1 SE stock rom (cause at this moment any rom/mod can handle that)
or
2. do that with a real camcorder
Do what I do,i switch between SE 2.1/CM 6.1.3 using Xrecovery.It only takes like 5 minuets to switch between roms
Hey,, I'm getting a nice perfomance and long battery life with cm7 6.5.8 but camera is working really ****ty how can i improve it ?? Should I use another camera app or there is an availible fix for that ?? I tried cm7 6.6.1 with franco .35 kernel but it's very buggy for me... HELP PLEASE

you should try to install camera 360 ultimatium. it is very good.
Mostly important are focus and white ballance. Both are easily configurable with Camera360 or CameraZOOM (I preffer the second one, it has several autofocus and manual focus modes and a good shot stabilizer).
I had some problems too with the camera. Well, what to say? I've tried a lot of apps, but same thing happened. I think it's a driver related thing that cannot be solved.

i installed cm7 today at my x10 and now i try to install my all old stock 2.3.3 apps like camera, sms apk and other but it doesn't work
the problem is with the cm7 camera apk i have no auto focus in the video mode and i can not zoom :/

for camera try using camera 360 you can zoom in that but for video not sure

the camera on stock GB rom works flawlessly, why do you need the ICS version.
ICS camera is the best for me, macro mode is better than in stock camera, is smoothly and take brighter pictures, I don't know why everyone is recommending stock camera maybe I have something wrong with Achotjan ROM, but I don't think so, can someone help?

Have you tried Vignette? I think it's the best camera app right now. With 8 Mp 'Super-fine' mode you can get a 5 MB image - while with the stock or other apps (like ICS Camera or CameraZoom) you can only get 2 - 2.5 MB. I've compared a image taken with Vignette and other with stock camera, on maximum zoom in Album. Huge difference, the details in the first are amazing. You must try it. :cyclops:
