For all the people who get reboots in MiniCM - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hey, i used to get the reboot after a while in MiniCM so i decided to sort it out....
Heres how to do it...
First:
-Boot to xrecovery and do a factory reset
-Wipe cache partitions
-Wipe battery stats etc.
-Install MiniCM Beta 2
and no more reboots again.....
Hope it works for you
If you like my post, Thank me!

X10 mini: Mini CM Beta 2, Apps2SD, DC2SD, JIT enabled
Edit: Dont forget to backup your stuff using titanium backup or xrecovery

Or you can first flash to the stock baseband and start all over again....No need to do factory reset and all then...

yeah only problem that it is super user and prelink related...
and that is on your /system

if you installed the MiniCM ROM, and do all step of the manual (in header), you not do this. Be cause many people dont like read. And after install this ROM write to forum about bugs. If people do all steps - they dont have a error !

Some days ago, i want to move app folder in phone memory/data/ to my sdcard, i think that folder is not use so i move with root explorer, mount r/w to my sdcard, suddenly all my application was gone , android market and application installer were gone to
then I use android commander from my pc to install again the root explorer then move back the app folder then restart my phone after i restart my phone, my application not comeback except android market and application installer
My phone is xperia x10 mini pro, can you help me please, any help would be appriciate, sorry for my bad english
GOD BLESS US
when you move them back you need to set permissions.
the easy way is to go in xrec or CWM rec and select fix permissions i think is in advanced.
if this didnt work just install your rom again no need to factory reset just wipe dalvik and partition cache
@Eyama
Thank you, can you explain more detail, because i'm new in android, the application that missing also missing in phone menu, can xrec fix this ?
Thank you
GOD BLESS US
I see that you use Xrecovery.
so go in Xrecovery then go to advanced an select fix permissions (this wil give the right permissions to apps).reboot phone and see if you have al app back (you need them in system/app)
If this still didn't work
Go to Xrecovery and install custom rom again (that one you allready have and wipe dalvik cache and partition cache you have those options in Xrecovery) with selecting install custom zip (have that rom on your SD card) and you will get all apps back and working.
@Eyema
what you mean "(you need them in system/app)" ?
Thank You
GOD BLESS US
Oouuu sory i miss that you lost apps that were downloaded from market and hey are stored in data/app. am i correct?
so you have them back in there
then with root explorer go to that place data/app and press mount r/w
then press and hold on app and then select permissions.
change permissions to
x..x
x
x
do this to all app and then reboot
@Eyema
Yup, youre correct, application from market
Oh dear thank you....^_^
I fix permission with xrecovery and it worked for me....^_^
Thank you
Anyway, i use android commander and droid explorer to explore my phone from pc, but why the root access off ? can you help it ? when i googling that because the adb, i'm very confused with the adb, no adb guide can guide me....TT_TT
One more again thank you, thank you....^_^
Thank's GOD
GOD BLESS US
Well im glad that helped
well im not using anny of this so i can't tell you. and i dont't like adb
so the better way is to get right permissions with root explorer
have a nice day
@Eyema
Okay, thank you....^_^
Oh, i almost forget, when i hold menu in my phone, every running history application should has their icon right ? but why the application installer (for example) had no icon when i hold menu button (the icon appear green with android logo), can you help this ? and how to copy whole phone memory to pc or sd card, or maybe access whole phone memory from pc with root access to ? I use root explorer but not all from phone memory coppied
Thank You
GOD BLESS US
looks like the app doesn't have icon set for this i realy don't know. i think you cant copy the whole phone memory.
i never tried yet to copy from pc to phone memory i always copy from SD card or on it and with root explorer for permissions i think this is the safest way.
@Eyama
Okay, no problem thank you....^_^
this application has the icon set because before my trouble all application missing, when i press the menu button it has icon....^_^
Eyama, can you teach me about rom ? maybe i think i want to change my stock rom, what is freaking fast rom ? and my data and application will be lost if i use another rom ? if yes how to fix it? can you help me to copy/ backup my game save game, widget, and application master (apk) to sdcard or pc ?
Sorry i'm to many ask, thank you
GOD BLESS US
well then try to reinstall it
If you have Mini Pro than you can use this(only for mini pro not for mini)
the freaking fast rom is FroyoComb maded by D4.
yes you lose all data, applications, sms, mms, contacts
you can make backup for data, apps and save game with titanium backup i dont know how is with sms, mms and contact. i save them on pc with my phone explorer.
i you want to install custom rom first you need to see if you have right baseband like this:Baseband Required: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
Kernel Required: 2.6.29
you can see it in setting/about phone
then for froyocomb you nedd CWM Recovery not Xrecovery.
i recomended you to try everything with Mini Rom Maneger
it is the simpelest app for installing CWM recovery and downloadig custom rom via phone.
But it is good to have look on XPERIA X10 Mini Pro Android Development thread and you will see how it goes everything
@Eyama
Thank you, where is the best your currently rom or froyocomb ?
With your guide, my basebrand and my kernel same like what you write, ithink i cant back up sms, contact mms via backup and restore application from sony ericsson, what is cwm recovery is it no problem if i have xrecovey in my phone ? what is "freaking fast rom"? And how to insert profile picture and avatar in my xda profile ?
Thank you for your advice and guide, sorry for ask to many question....^_^
GOD BLESS US
click in my signature on name of rom
FroyoComb v1.5
CyaNoComb v1.1 and
CyaNo(R)Evolution v1.3
Yes u can backup with sony ericsson but you wont be able to restore it in custom rom.
so that's why you need to backup with difrent app.
for data and apps use titanium backup
for sms, mms, contacts use Backup everything you have this app on market for free.
CWM Recovery is improvment of Xrecovery
The easyest way to change from Xrecovery to CWM Recovery is to flash this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059361
You have 2 options for download in your case download MiniCM v5.0 Final Release | for xRecovery
when you install this rom you will get Cwm recovery with it.
for fraking fast rom i just wrote that beacuse this rom is realy fast in every thing (FroyoComb v 1.5)
For profile picture and avatar you all have in USER CP if something u don't know how to you have a guide:

@Eyama
Thank you, how about using mini rom manager like you said ?
With xrecovery in my phone, can i use mini rom manager like you said ? and how to use cwm recovery ?
Thank you
GOD BLESS US
well mini rom maneger is te app that you can download custom roms from xda
than you can install CWM recovery just by pressing button.
yes you can use rom maneger with xrecovery.
cwm recovery is basically just like xrecovery but is a litle bit improved and better.
@Eyama
Thank you, Are there any way to install cwm recovery like use apk ?
So to use cwm recovery must reboot phone and press back button like xrecovery ?
GOD BLESS US
yes there is download this rom MiniCM v5.0 Final Release | for xRecovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1059361
an put it on sd card leave it in .zip (do not unzip it or raname it)
when you are in xrecovery
select Full Wipe (factory reset)
then in advanced select wipe dalivk cache and battery stats
than select install custom zip
select chose custom zip from sd card and navigate to .zip
select the zip and wait to finish installation.
when is finished reboot phone
first boot will take a litle bit long so dont be afraid
after this you will have custom rom and CWM recovery.
Yes to use CWM recovery is the same way like xrecovery rebot and pressing back button or with custom rom you have an option to reboot into cwm rec. press and hold off button and then press reboot and chose recovery
@Eyama
Okay, thank you
If i want to use froyocomb ? so to do it ? mini rom manager will download dwm but it take charges....TT_TT any other way ?And how to backup widget ?
GOD BLESS US
well install this rom as i told you an you will get with cusom rom cwm recovery.
if you dint like MiniCM v5 rom you can download Froyocom v1.5 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1085607
and install it like you install in xrec
but alway when you are changing roms backup everything an than in cwm rec factory reset(ful wipe) then wipe dalvik cache and wipe partition cache
you cant backup widgets only you can backup app witch have widgets

Make factory reset
Clean cache
Clean dalvik cache!
@stelios97 : Make factory reset >> from xrecovery or CWM ? & I need to take back up of current installed apps ??
Clean cache >> where is option for that ???
Clean dalvik cache! >> Where is option for this too ???
factory reset, clean cache is on the CWM & xRec main menu
clean dalvic cache is in advance option in the main menu
use backup apps like titanium backup before u do the factory wipe or you will lose your app+data..
re-install your custom rom and make sure you clear all the cacher from CWM menu.

Recovery tweaks

Just an idea to restore large data.
An idea is coming to my mind where we can use recovery instead of titanium backup to restore large amount of data.
The idea is to backup only data, android.secure folder and ext via amonRa recovery.
Now, if you are changing roms, you can try to do this thing.
After installation of the rom, restore this backup via recovery.
(If you have ext, flash dt apps2sd first and then restore.)
Don't wipe anything after restore and reboot.
See how it goes.
If all goes well, this may be a good alternative to titanium where a whole bunch of data is required to be restored.
I will also attempt this shortly.
Another important thing.
Just two hours back I flashed cm 6.6.1, flashed gapps, flashed Franco kernel 40, flashed dt apps2sd in that order without rebooting and everything went well after first reboot. I had rom, gapps, kernel and ext everything working fine. So I think there is no need to reboot in between in this case.

Nice trick, but you can only restore all apps or none. You cant select which apps you would like to restore and if any of the data gets corrupt you will lose all apps.
Hows 6.6.1 treating you ? I am using 6.5.7 which is great in terms of performance and battery.

Often, while changing roms, we think of having our current apps on the new rom.
As for 6.6.1, its going very fine. Previously I had uninstalled it due to wifi problem, but I hadn't checked it with Franco kernel.
With Franco gb kernel its all fine.

Did you try with app2sd script ?
I've once tried this but with data2sd, it didn't work. (or maybe the script doesnt succeeded at first place).
Anyway, thanks for reminding this
i believe this may also work with cwm (make a backup, wipe the usual stuff, flash the new rom, restore data.img in advanced restore). please confirm this
I think it should work. We will have to select all three data/android secure /ext one by one.

It works!
Just used this method to upgrade from mike's os beta6.5.6 to beta6.5.8 with Darktremor's A2SD.
-Booted in the cwm recovery and did a compleat backup
-Wiped everything, data/cache/dalvkin..everything
-Flashed os (didny reboot as recomended)
-Flashed new kernel
-Rebooted to check if the OS was loading (think you can skip this)
-Back to custom recovery-> backup and restore -> advance restore -> restor data and sd-ext
-Rebooted to check if the os was loading (think you can skip this)
-Back to custom recovery -> flash darktremor 2.7.5.3 Beta 04 reboot (realy took long 5min+ to load)
Tryd this a couple of times ( hence the many reboots to check if everything was ok) at the end didnt manage to make it boot with darktremor's 2.7.5.2-1 had to go with the relative new beta.
just my 2cents
Yes it works fine - with Advanced Restore
Hello,
To Switch ROMS
I have tried this twice - 1st do a nandroid backup
Wipe data/ Factory reset/ wipe cahe/ Dalvik Cache
Flash new ROM - Reboot for assurance really
Advanced Restore/choose backup/ restore data then restore cache/ reboot X 2
I find this easier than Ti Backup/ and more comprehensive.
I do not recommend ROM Manager for anything other than flashing recoveries
Thanks for reading this far

[Q] PARANOIDANDROID is CM9 compatible ?

Hi all,
for now I'm still on a GS2, but I am considering buying a GNote your rom and I like a lot. So I plan to install it on my S2 to go to.
A question: I am in CM9 for now, with your rom (which is based on CM9) can I do the update with the available Nightly of CM9 ?
Or maybe I did not understand (which should not wonder ) and it can not work like that?
Thank you in advance for the answer.
If you are on PARANOIDANDROID v1.0 and update to a nightly from CM9. You will then be on CM9 not PARANOIDANDROID.
Even tho it is based on CM9 it is two different things.
Updates that get put in to CM9 nightlys will be put in to PARANOIDANDROID when they want and their rom will be updated, so will there thread and the OTA updater.
To sum up, if you flash a CM9 Nightly then you will lose your PARANOIDANDROID rom.
Also make sure you use the extended steps to install a new rom.
The steps on the OP are very clear but apparently some users miss some things or can't get a properly installation so, here are the extended steps (personally i'm always use this method):
1.Reboot into recovery
2.Wipe Data / Factory Reset
3.Wipe Cache Partition
4.Install the Main ROM
5.In recovery go to Advanced
6.Wipe Dalvik Cache
7.Fix Permissions
8.Wipe Cache Partition
9.Reboot
10.If at the first boot you can't do the configuration of the google account, skip this step and continue
11.When you boot into the system, it's probably that you don't have data enabled (3g, H+) just reboot
12.When you boot again into the system the data will be enable and you can do the configuration of Google Account (if you don't do this before)
13.This is the moment for install all the extras like themes, fix's, kernels, etc.
14.Enjoy!!!
Thank's all.
Still Confused....

Issue installing
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1729331&fb_source=message
Can someone help me. Tried to post a question in that post itself but need to have 10 comments or something.
Anyways, followed the following instruction which said to (i think)
boot into cwm
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
wipe dalvik cache
then i tried to install the file that i get from mediafire using install zip from sdcard
Find the file (in the download folder is where i saved it) but as soon as it starts to install it, stops ..calling out to an error (something 7)
Could someone see if i did it correctly or there is some other issue?
Currently running broodrom rc5

Since the system-requirements regarding firmware and baseband are the same across all custom ROMS you can safely say you had the firmware required when you got MiniCM9. Ofcourse you can't find the exact number you had anymore, because it's the version number of Android 2.1 Eclair, and not Android 4.0 ICS that you have now
You will lose all your contacts and other data like sms/mms messages, calendar entries etc. you had in your phone. For me, I always export the contacts to sd-card so i have them available after a fresh install, the rest is not important to me. Everything on your sd-card (like music, photos etc.) will still be available after a flash.
If other things are important to you, do a backup in CWM and later you can restore just the data, although this may give errors due to differences in the different Android versions.
Basically:
Put the ROM on your sd-card
Flash the nAa-Gb kernel to your phone
Boot into Recovery (CWM is included in the kernel)
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache
In the Advanced Menu:
Wipe Dalvik-cache and Wipe battery-stats
Back to Main Menu
Install zip from sd-card
Choose zip from sd-card
Select the MiniCM7 zip and select yes.
Wait...
Reboot...
Should you be stuck on the MiniCM7 logo for more than 5 minutes, Push Power and Home-buttons together, it will restart.
Get into CWM again and do all the wipes as mentioned before.
After that it will boot up to the home screen.
Good luck

Hard to say... Personally I like some of the innovative extra's GingerDX brings, like flip-to-snooze, or pickup-to-call (not to mention JB-styling), or, if you want a more Sony look-and-feel, try ArcMiniNxt for example, it all depends on your own preferences. But MiniCM7 is generally considered a no-fuss rock-solid ROM.
