i tried to open contacts, goto menu, click view, and select sync facebook.
but it didn't seems works for me.
Any solution ?

is that after installing the facebook sync fix that was posted in the CM 6.1.3 v05 thread?
I'm using the same rom and don't have that problem. Only issue with my contact's is the picture doesn't show in the sms app.

Have gone from stock to CyanogenMod 7 rom .......
but gmail is unable to receive email if i manually do a
sync it works and fetchs email otherwise no action no

Settings | Accounts & Sync, then click on your gmail account and make sure Sync Gmail is CHECKED.

I assumed gmail was sync-ing but aparently not... thanks so much, fixed it!

Hi,
Bought an S2 couple of weeks ago. Great phone with superb performance.
However I am having a prob with FB integration.
Despite installing the 'Facebook for Android' app and creating an account in Samsung Social Hub, I am unable to sync my existing contacts and FB calender entries onto my device.
The 'sync all' option in 'FB 4 Android' app (and sync on Social Hub) creates a separate contact instead of combining it with existing ones and 'sync existing contacts' doesn't work.
In calender, special events are getting tabulated but birthdays are not getting recorded.
I am currently using the 'Birthdays - Free' app frm the Market to address the calender sync issue. Its a gr8 app, give it a try.
However, plz help me out with the calender sync issue.
I'm not sure because i'm not using samesumg hubs and i dont't have it on my phone. But i think there is an option to join contacts.

There is. I had to do this with about half of my facebook contacts, which for some reason, didn't automatically join, even though the names were identical.
Exactly the prob m facing..
My friend had no issues on his xperia neo V for sync using the facebook 4 android app..dunno why bt it isn't workin for my i9100..
i have no problem in syncing my contacts but i would like help on setting their fb profile pictures as their caller i.d pictures. im using the rom from here:

If the contacts are synced with FB but don't show their FB picture, try loading them in the FB app at least once.

it worked but not on all contacts?
Should have worked, if they are joined properly.
Some have and some dont and I've tried loading the ones that don't work

Try SyncMyPix. And after ICS come to us, use HaxSync...

Try logging out of your FB account and logging back in. It worked for me.

Yeah, I did this. Worked. But do we have to do the same before every sync. Bcaz when it sync automatically, it does not update the latest pics.??????

Just log in Facebook itself via a PC goto account settings and choose from the left pane reports.
Check in the middle all reports and scroll down to other applications.
Check here if Xperia is selected

I recently updated to jelly bean CM10. I can't add facebook account under settings-> accounts-> facebook.
It just comes out when I try to add facebook account. Hence unable to synch up facebook contacts.
Can someone suggest a work around?
BTW i am using a moto defy plus.

from ics up, android is no longer able to synchronise with facebook.

I was just about to suggest Facebook Contact Sync, there isn't really that much extra that can be gained from having the Facebook app synced directly.
IIRC, birthdays might be a problem with FCS, but I use Ebo Birthday for that anyway.

Its strange though , facebook comes under accounts and it shows that contacts are getting synced (Last sync date : 8/22/2012 10:28 AM IST ) .
i am using epsylon latest CMX Build , green lens .

Mine shows that too, but it's not actually doing anything.

Its because it is not supported. As simple as that! Use Haxsync for this purpose. for syncing birthdays best way is to add your FB calendar in Google calendar. Haxsync syncs calendar too.

Haxsync has issues with CM10.. use Facebook Contact Sync from play store.. i'ts free and functional.
This is from the whatsapp website FAQ
Note: WhatsApp cannot sync with Facebook friends, so you will need to manually enter their phone numbers in your address book in order for WhatsApp to find them.

No its not that simple..i have all the fb contacts synced n visible in my contacts...the trouble is in getting the fb contacts to show up in third party apps..such as whatsapp...

Get my simple points:
1. Whatsapp will only show your contacts with phone numbers
2. Only the official Facebook app can sync Facebook contacts with their phone numbers.
3. Use the official Facebook app to sync your contacts

1. You forgot to post your ROM details
2. I don't use Facebook app, so I'll try to install it now (i only have version 1.9.3), I'll then test and see. I'm on a Jellybean ROM, and I'm not sure if the app will sync contacts.
Anyhow, I'll let you know how it goes.

I believe its not possible to sync fb numbers to the phone contacts in (people app) AOSP based roms. It was not possible a while ago not sure about now.

Tested it but Facebook won't sync my contacts.
Yeah Facebook still can't sync contacts to the People (Aosp) app. It was possible to sync on some AOKP based ROMs in the ICS days but I've never been able to sync contacts in CM9/CM10 based ROMs.
... well, except i use some other apps, and those apps cannot sync phone numbers.

fb contact no# was the only reason i switched back to Stock based roms, meanwhile i hope some one finds a workaround for the whatsapp issue..

I'll test and report about the whatsapp once i have the chance to dual boot with a stock ROM.
- from my past experience, my whatsapp contacts always triple from about 150 to 500 once i sync my Facebook contacts. I don't know if things have changed now.
