[Q] CM7 disable restoring settings and apps? - Optimus One, P500, V General

Can someone please tell me how to do a full re-flash with CM7? I want all the applications, settings etc to go away.
I did a full wipe, and re-flashed my phone with this ROM, but 3 minutes after rebooting all my previous settings were back. My main issue is that I uninstalled ADW and replaced it with Launcher Pro. This messed up the phone really badly, so I wanted to re-flash. Everything seems to be working OK but ADW is not integrated with CM7 due to the settings it restored.

[Q] Vibrant turning off randomnly

I have a vibrant with the newest Revamped rooted on it (XX-2)
This started last week when my phone randomly turned off while I wasn't using it.
I thought it was because I backed up apps without installing them from the market
so I did a factory reset and flashed without backing up anything.
However it stills turns off randomly.
Can anyone help me on this?
I used titanium backup to backup apps After I downloaded them from the market.
Would this have anything to do with my phone turning off randomly?
Thank you
Titanium Backup probably was NOT the problem.
In titanium backup did you backup any system files (shown by a red text on the app) and restore the app along with data? If yes, thats it, bingo.
DO NOT backup/restore system apps its very unstable.
If not, Do a ODIN start back up from fresh, and see if it still does that after you ODIN - if you decide to flash the same ROM - and it starts again , maybe its the ROM? try another ROM?
revamped is built for overclocking/undervolting. are you doing either? If so check your settings and tweak them as sometimes this can cause your device to crash/reboot at what seems like random intervals.
If you are not Overclocking/Undervolting..... then switch to stock Miui

[Q] Accidentally restored Froyo contacts on Gingerbread, stuck in force close loop

So I installed the latest MIUI ROM on my I9000 Galaxy S, and everything worked fine for a bit. Then I wanted to retrieve my contacts I had from my previous ROM (Froyo, Darky's ROM) with Titanium backup. I found a file called something like "[contacts(...)]", which seemed like the right one. When I selected it it told me the backup was Contacts 2.2, my current version was Contacts 2.3.(1 or 5?). By accident I restored the app instead of the data.
Now my phone can't load the launcher because I have to force close android.process.acore every time. If I do this it just comes back before the launcher is loaded. I also have to force close Application Launcher. So basically I can't get into any app or menu.
I can still get into download mode or Clockwork Recovery.
So, two questions:
1) Is there a way for me to fix this without losing any data? I suppose I could reflash MIUI, but I'm not sure what would happen to my data and settings.
2) What would be the proper way to restore my contacts, without breaking my system?
Thanks!
Okay, I fixed the loop by going to the app manger via my home button and deleting the contacts data. Still looking for a way to fix the backup though.

What have I done?

I've flashed the task650 and phantom rom. Then installed titanium back up from the market and restored all of my apps. It then said that the android launch error has stopped or something.
What have I done wrong and how can I fix it?
Did you also let TiBu restore all your settings as well? or JUST the apps? Did you restore an app that was included in the ROM?
When switched ROM's you should only restore apps that are not on the device already. You also should be careful with all settings that you restore as well.
For me, I restore the missing apps, that I still want, with data along with accounts, BT pairings, and WiFi settings. That's it.

Oh, and to fix it, I would just hard reset your device, verify that all is running as it should, and then begin installing your apps again.
This is what I think the sequence of what I have done is.
-Obviously rooted my tablet.
-Backed it up with Rom manager and copy and pasted the back up to my PC as well as the back ups of the apps and settings from titanium.
-Downloaded and transferred the task650 and phantom rom to my tablet.
-Flashed it and deleting the cache and dalvik etc in the process.
-Followed the process of not selecting google during the factory reset and changed my wifi settings and synced google once the flash had finished.
-I then went to the market place and reinstalled titanium from their and restored the apps and data.
-It was at that point when I could not get back onto the android desktop (if thats what its called.)
Now when I click the power button I can unlock it and it brings up this box:
Sorry! The application Launcher (process.com.android.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force close or report.
If I hold the power button I see a recovery option with rom manager icon and a download option.
So to answer your question I did let TiBu restore setting as well because I am a total noob. I more than likely did restore an app that was in the rom.
I can't really see if all is running as it should because if I force close the error message it just goes blank and brings the error back up.
I haven't bricked it have I? I hope to god this is fixable.
You are not bricked. I would just follow the steps again on the Task650 and Phantom thread to re-flash the ROM, and just start over. Once you have re-flashed, then reinstall TiBu and then begin restoring only the missing apps with their corresponding data. DO NOT RESTORE any settings or any apps that are already in the ROM unless you know specifically that they are safe to restore (MOST ARE NOT).

Thanks for your help I'm back on ok after a hard reset. I think its back to the way it was before I restored apps and data off tibu.
Im already on the task and phantom rom after the reset so do I need to still reflash the rom?
I'm not really bothered about reinstalling apps, but is their any I should restore?
Would downloading an app from the market I had on the previous rom cause problems?
No, you do not need to re-flash if the hard rest took care of your problem.
The only apps to NOT restore are the ones that are already on the ROM, as that may cause a conflict. Apps that you have downloaded from the market in the past, and that are not currently in the ROM should be ok to restore with TiBu.
Again thanks you have been very helpful.

Correct. To be safe don't restore any system settings or system apps. these show green in titanium. This error if from restoring sudden data on launcher. Task snuff phantoms tom uses a different launcher from stock touchwiz.

Thanks.
I've just left it as it was to be safe, was not to bothered about my apps or settings anyway I'm happy to start over.
So to avoid anything going wrong in the future, do I not update my tablet?

[Q] Titanium restore over GalaxyTask 10 issues

First of all, its a very nice ROM! Reliable, smooth and fast!
I did a minor mess and ask for your advice, after installation I did a full recovery of my apps and data with titanium backup. After that I experienced two annoying issues, the browser didn't start (browser.android.com error) and the new calendar have a conflict with the old one restored.
If I reflash without wiping that issues should go?
Many thanks!
Going forward, do not restore system apps. There are ways to fix this, but I would go the clean way and factory wipe. Then simply restore non-system apps. I also then go in and freeze a lot of system apps since Task has what I consider to be bloat... once you have frozen them and do not experience any issues you could uninstall them (though if frozen, no real need to)... ie, you could do this on the calendar.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

I think everyone makes the system app restore mistake once. s15274n is right though, its best to always just go ahead and start clean, just to make sure there are no complications that haven't shown themselves yet, and then all of a sudden your tablet won't rotate anymore... (that was my super experience with not wiping completely)
Thanks.
I full wiped all again reinstalled the rom, restored the 3rd part apps and data. It's working now!

[Q] Plethora of ROM issues

So, I had liquid gingerbread 3.2 running on my bolt for the last few months. After I started having issues with almost every app in the market saying "your device isn't compatible with this", I decided to go back to stock, and re flash lgb.
Problems!:
1) on boot, lgb can't connect to any network. Tried flashing a PG05IMG from clockwork recovery, said installation aborted. Link to proper radio?
2) in liquid gingerbread, home key does nothing, and app drawer frequently closes without my input.
3) regarding titanium backup pro, when I backup "all system data and user data," why don't my text messages and new contacts get restored? The most recent messages I'm getting back are from when I backed up my system before first installing lgb. Why? When I try to do all this through My Backup Pro, some messages are restored, but handcent doesn't match numbers with contacts, so it appears that in texts,I have no recognized contacts when in fact they are present in "people" or "contacts."
what's going on? How can I get liquid working again, WITH my contacts, WITH my current texts, and WITH data/network connections?
Anyone else have any of these problems? Wiped cache/Dalvik cache prior to installation, and also did factory erase both through clockwork mod recovery as well as the built in android technique.
Possibly because i selected to recover all system apps and data in titanium backup, but I think nearly all these issues occurred before I restored any of that.
I don't have any problem but I'm on thunderstick...

Well, this latest install worked ok. Just took me a number of tries. My guess is that I was restoring some system app or another somehow.
I haven't tried thunderstick. Can you put up some screenshots? I haven't found any other rom I really like. I don't care for sense, which it seems most are based on. I love the style of liquid. Love the battery bar on top, love the widget shortcuts in the dropdown menu, love the power conservation, love the customization....
