Two most common are "setcpu" and "overclock widget"
Sent from my pocket rocket!
You first need to make sure you have a kernel installed that will allow overclocking.

How do I check if I have kernel installed? Sorry im new to this and someone rooted the phone for me
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
If all your phone is is rooted then you don't have an overclocked kernel. If your new id suggest staying away from the overclocking kernels. Its a known issue that not all vibrants can handle overclocking. If yours can't it will cause you problems.

So downloading setcpu won't do anything?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Before you do anything to your phone. Go to the general section and read the guide tips stickier. It will save you a ton of headaches.

does the lastest version of Axura install voodoo automatically?
if so, does dat mean i can overclock?
Yes it does install it automatically. But that has nothing to do with overclocking. You have to have a kernel that's capable of that.

Eugene has a few to choose from.

be aware most oc kernel's destroy battery life. I am currently using ttabals dragon oc kernel. I have also tried the Dow kernel. I have experienced a few hard resets.
Setcpu doesnt seem to work correctly for me and it doesnt like setting profiles.
When overclocking anything take it slow and easy.
So which kernel should I get then?

That depends on what kind of ROM you are running. Are you completely stock? Are you on 2.1 or 2.2? You dont want to flash a 2.2 kernel over a 2.1 or 2.1 over a 2.2?
Anybody know of any vibrant kernels with voodoo sound v5?
Disregard the question. cmenard is the man.
You found one ?

cmenard commented in his Overstock thread that he'll have an update coming soon.
Ttabbal says he'll be bringing it to Dragon, as well. If only someone could make a voodoo sound compatible kernel for Double Rainbow (Gingerbread).
Ohhh nice..soo i mean i would like to have it on 2.3.2 and up..i love the voodoo.sound

Me too, but it will not happen without vibrant 2.3 source, from what I hear.

Have you tried CM7? I have not but I believe it is a GB ROM and there is a kernel with voodoo sound available.
I've not. I stalk the thread, and have seen too many bugs. The data issues and battery life makes it a no-go for me.
Wait I though we already had v5

Looks like that is the only kernel to update so far. Giving it a shot.

What does this script do?

CM7 #87 w/ Bali 2.0 (smartass) V6 supercharger w/ option 9: MegaRAM 2. I don't multitask often, so this option works best for me keeping the phone snappy and lagfree. Best thing about V6 is after you install and reboot, you will never again need to reboot switching between ram options. This way you can test and switch on the fly to your liking.

Really looking to root my new tablet. What is the best, most stable rom and kernel for this? Any help would be great?
Sent from my ARCHOS 101G9 using xda app-developers app
Everyone has favorite. I prefer [email protected] V03, but some people prefer rooted stock, cm9 and aokp. Also few users still use honeycomb. If you want stable, bugless solution, go for [email protected]

AFAIK there is only 1 other kernel for it: the kernel for Ubuntu. Just use the "stock" kernel.

I'm doing this today at work. Either going to brick my g9, or make it smooth and fast. Hoping its the latter. Its the perfect size for a tablet, but she's a little slow and laggy. Supercharging and ics blue will hopefully cure my problems. Are the supercharger file included in the blue post?

Just wondering if there are any kernels that I can flash for kitkat roms. The rom I'm on atm has cpu oc abilitys but I was also wanting the gpu oced abit as well. I tried using kernel tuner but only the adreno series are only supported. Also if I have to flash to a jb rom for any kernel that supports gpu oc or has it pre oc then I will do that as well. But if any kitkat kernels are out there that I can flash then I'd rather do that. Thanks for any help.
