[Q] Bell Stock .sbf? - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there anyone who is working on obtaining a Bell Atrix stock .sbf?
I'm not exactly sure of how the .sbf can be obtained, if one can be created from a phone and simply no one from Bell has taken the time to do it yet, or if you actually must wait until someone decides to leak it or Motorola decides to finally show the Bell version a little bit of support, can anyone enlighten me?

We have to wait until it gets leaked...as for how...I don't know. Go ask those Russians (they seem to always be the ones leaking things) lol.

haha it reminds me of Windows 7 when it was in beta stage.
The leaked builds always came from Russia (Russian websites).
On topic, I would like to know the answer for the OP's question as well.

Any news on this. The new atrixs will probably be un rootable because we cant flash down.

if the sbf doesn't come out soon I'll be picking up a nexus s from rogers in a week or so

Well to all my fellow leakers, here ya go..

Hi, I’m Christina, and I’ll be glad to assist you today. I understand how important it is for your device to function properly. HTC does not support leaked versions of the ROMS because of this we are unsure whether you will be able to install the new version of the ROM. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Thank you for contacting HTC America Technical Support.
I hate how stupid HTC reps think people are. I sent three emails to finally get a somewhat decent response.
Now that it is quite humerous.... Thank you for that, I needed a laugh. BTW, why are you so worried about getting the OTA? The leaked v3 is very identical to the OTA.... just download that instead...

The ota wouldn't get you root anyway. The hboot image isn't updated by the ota so you would still be in the exact same spot you are right now.

haha like i mean see if anything new comes up by the time i get around to doing whatever i want to my phone. maybe if im patient then something bigger will happen
Well, the only development to come to the eris for a while is going to be new roms. root for leakers is still not here yet, and from what ive seen wont be for a bit. We already have root. and the Eris Master App makes it super simple. just get a new phone and root it. with root, you can install roms that have OTA included, plus better themes, and can do a lot more than with just 1.5 or 2.1 non root.
Just curious, how many developers are working on root for leakers?
According to VZW support's twitter account (http://twitter.com/vzwsupport), "@jfkerekes Yes, leakers should receive the OTA by 5/24. Manual download is not available. *NK"

Call out for Odin restore files

Hey guys, I am working on getting some custom roms / custom recovery setup on the fascinate, and right now i am at a standstill really until we can get the files for restoring the device via Odin. Im a bit new to Samsung android phones, and the partition structure is a little different than what i am used to, as well as the restore functions. If anyone has access to the restore files for a stock fascinate please post them!

Thats not what im looking for exactly. Im looking for the full flashable boot / system / pda / modem tars for Odin.
Yup - wrecked mine screwing with the lagfix. May have run it twice in a row, accidentally... I'm probably going to need to reflash it. The sooner we can get a firmware image the better.

Exactly. Ive tried all my connections in the android world, and still come up with nothing. I really dont want to start working on a recovery without a way to flash it back a safe way with Odin or redbend

No, that's what we have you for. The black magic is only for sacrificial rituals and love potions.
I'd consider calling you a **** or a douchebag or something, but I remember back when there was no URLBot in IRC. One good man decided that he could change things by actually being helpful and linking people to the most awesome and up-to-date roms/mods/hacks available for the fascinate, instead of being a jackass and telling people to go kill themselves or something similarly themed (ludeboy, you **** ;-D). Even as everyone spoke against you in your mad hyperlinking endeavors, discouraging your generosity, I secretly cheered you on. I said to myself, now there is a person my son could look up to. Even now, he's 2 years old and I already fill his ears with tales of your heroic deeds. And when im out drinking with my buddies, I never fail to dedicate at least one shot of jack Daniels to chopperthedog in our ritual pre-shot toasts.

[Q] Just bought a Motorola Atrix 4G, however...

Hi guys,
I just bought a Motorola Atrix 4G from Ebay. However I was wondering, what ROM should I use, since I live in the Netherlands?
I already noticed a few roms here, however, since I live in the Netherlands, I want to know which one I should use for the best performance within my country.
Can someone please advice me?
Thank you very much.

Sorry I forgot to mention it's the cell phone from AT&T carrier. I already know where to unluck it, thanks to this forum!
I am really sorry if this is a dumb question, but I couldn't find anything on it on the forums for Dutch people. :S
You're welcome.

I apologize for Shaydar. That is an incredibly rude comment to make for absolutely no reason.
Make sure the ROMs are compatible with your network. I know that Canadian users were warned to avoid using certain ROMs at first.
However, I no longer own an Atrix, so you might need to some more research on the subject.

No problem, luckily there are some more decent folk around here. Oh well, I guess on every forum their are a few a..........
I never heard of a provider blocking a ROMs overhere in the Netherlands. But then again we are allowed a lot of stuff overhere, legalised soft drugs, red light district and so on. So I doubt it will going to block a custom ROM, but of course you never know.
So the ROMs, depending they aren't blocked, do work without problems with other countries, right? As a matter of fact, it doesn't matter what or who's ROM it is, the ROM itself doesn't provide the connection (phone/data/gps). Right?
Sorry if I misunderstood. Oh well; even if someone said it wouldn't work, it doesn't matter that much anymore, since the phone will arrive here within 2 days.
By the way, you returned the Atrix 4G? Didn't you like the phone or was there another reason?
I believe Canadian Atrix users have to use certain ROMs due to hardware compatibility. I'm no expert in Canadian Atrii but they've been waiting until very recently for an SPL that's compatible with their phones so I assume it's either compatibility between the ROM and the phone hardware (bootloader maybe?) or between the ROM and the network.
Sorry if I sounded rude.
All roms are just original firmware with skin and some mods.
Guess the guy sold his cell cause the bootloader was locked and some things like the real 4G, 1080p recording, and gingerbread are not yet available for the phone.
I am from france and all the roms avaible on this forum worked fine.
Got a preference for GreyBlur.
Enjoy your Atrix when you got it.
Mine cost me 425€ all costs in.

Okay thanks. After doing some researching I will be going to use the GladiAtrix2v4.2.3 (not themed) version.
Let's hope I manage to get it working properly.
On a sidenote; my phone didn't arrive yet.
One thing: don't be surprised when you don't see the earphones in the package.
At&T just don't provide them.... But there's a HDMI wire.... Weird choice...
And plug your phone to the wall-charger if it doesen't seem to boot.

Ah okay... I don't care much about earphones, though other people might. But thanks for the information.
Also thanks for the extra pointer regarding the wall-charger.
Darn... I also wanted to order the Motorola vehicle dock including rapid charger, but it seems they don't have that overhere yet or in my neighbouring countries. :S
Cleaned the thread, back on topic.
Simple question; is there a way to disable those annoying messages about updates?
I rooted and installed gladiatrix and it has been working perfectly since then. However I am not getting messages about installing an update (4.1.83.en.US).
I select "Install later" every time, however after 3 hours it's back and it's getting annoying. Or is the update safe to use on a rooted gladiatrix phone? If not, how can I disable these messages completely?

Question regarding exynos exploit

Does anyone have any kind of idea when samsung is going to release the fix in the U.S?
My return period is quickly closing, so need to know if this is actually going to happen within the coming weeks/month.
I've emailed samsung and they keep giving me the same generic response.
Why does it matter? We have a fix for it so Im not sure what your dilemma is? This is a developer site, look here for your support, not Samsung or the carrier.

Exactly. No need to freak out and return this awesome phone.
Whenever they create an update that is approved by the carriers. Being on VZW, we'll probably see it in March or April. I'd guess it will be a toss up between AT&T and VZW on who will be the last to have it patched.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2093465 this kernel has the fix built into it if you are using a stock based rom.
