Ok, so here's my problem: I just downloaded the Galaxy S Pulsar bootanimation for my phone here and I can't seem to get it to work. My phone would flash the Vibrant screen, stay black (as if the bootanimation is still playing) and then load up android.
So far, I did as the thread instructed and originally placed the bootanimation.zip inside system/media. I currently have the permissions set to rw-r--r-- but nothing's happening. I even just tried to move it to data/local with the same permissions and it still doesn't work. Could anyone give me some advice on this or tell if I'm doing this wrong? Thx in advance.

I don't have a boot animation..It's just black...I Odined then reflashed, I tried different roms to see what was wrong, And it works just fine on other roms. I'm not sure what could be causing it..Any ideas?
Go to system/media
Is the bootanimation.zip in there?
Edit:
Just uploaded it, download, move to that folder system/media, then reboot

Make sure you have the permissions set to the same as they were before... (rw-r--r--)
Anyone get it to work I tried permission
Make sure you don't have the boot sound turned off in the bamf tool kit
Hi All,
I had flashed the bootanimation from the Nexus Prime on my X10i and it was working fine. But now I am not able to change the bootanimation by any means and am stuck with the Nexus boot animation.
I have tried flashing the stock bootanimation.zip through xrecovery, as well as tried replacing the file manually, but once i reboot, the phone reverts to the old boot animation.
How can i chnage by boot animation now???

Wrong section, Post your questions in Q & A section
Anyways go to /data/local & delete bootanimation.zip if there's any, then go to /system/media & delete bootanimation.zip if there's any, Then flash the new boot animation that you want
Did I mention wrong section?
Use root explorer or any file manager which can access root files, manually delete the bootanimation from systems/media and replace it with your file.

Ok, so there this copy of the old bootanimation.zip in /data/local - deleting that copy did the trick for me. Thanks!
Im having trouble getting a custom bootscreen I made working and Im wondering if anyone can help me. Im on a Rooted S5, and I have busybox and Clockwork Mod Recovery installed, aswell as the clockwork bootanimation enabler installed. However, when I put my bootanimation.zip file in my system/media folder (permissions are changed to Rw- r-- r-- aswell) the animation still doesnt play. When I restart my phone, its just a black screen and then loads to my lock screen. Can anyone tell me if im doing anything wrong or if there is anything in my zipfile thats wrong? Any help would be much obliged. This is my animation here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dm4464ihudzpbxl/bootanimation.zip?dl=0
I made a simple boot animation for my LS991 and it previews flawlessly in Boot Animation Factory, but I can't seem to get it to work on my phone. I found the carrier/cust boot animation and tried to replace that, but my file explorer is failing to copy the zip over to it. So I tried in system/media and replaced both the default boot animation and the bootanimation_sprint files. Now the screen just starts up with the typical LG - Powered by Android, then goes black for a bit, and then the OS loads up.
I'm not sure if I'm putting my custom animation in the wrong spot or what. The permissions are set to rw-r-r as per this thread, but still nothing.
I'm attaching the boot animation to this post if anyone wants to take a look at it and make sure I've got everything done right. When I zipped it with 7zip, I made sure to set compression method to "store". Thanks for looking at this.
