Well I tried flashing imnuts new 100uv kernel and it gave me HUGE issues. It basically screwed up permissions and somehow screwed up my apps that were installed on the SD card. I tried a lot of different things to fix it and couldn't get it so I decided to restore one of my backups.
Well, I am not sure if that is working either. It has been stuck at the boot animation for quite some time now. Much longer than when flashing new ROM's, etc. Does restoring from a nandroid usually take much longer? Or is something wrong?
Did you have a theme applied? I know some people have been having trouble restoring nandroids that were themed.
It has been said that nandroid backups wont work sometimes. It would be best for you to do odin EB01 again.
Did you do nandroid backup b4 flashing? If so, do it, it will get you back to state b4 you flashed new kernel
But flashing new rom seems the safest way.

Ok cool, thanks. I was hoping there was an all in one package like the DI01 all in one.
That kernel seems to be nothing but problems for people. I've been using JT's UV, etc. VooDoo kernel, and it is amazing. Maybe try that until imnuts works the kinks out of his.

Voodoo was awesome but removing it resulted in a soft bricked galaxy s. Not voodoos fault. I am the end user after all. In any event, i wanted to know which lag fix was a bit more user friendly and compatible with ji5. I heard there's an app u can download that can give u a lag fix, what do u vets think of it.
Its my 3rd day with my galaxy s and im glad i didn't wait for the g2. Loving dlna and this awesome gpu! Thanks to all in the community, its only been 3 days and i already bricked 4 times. But now i know how to unbrick and help out my fellow vibrant owners
Also, anyone know a kernel compatible with ji5? Everytime i try and install kingxklicks it results in a soft brick.

Havnt tried bionix but i liked eugenes. I removed eugenes because i actually enjoy the stock music player... how close is bionix to stock?
The Bionix changelog doesn't say anything about having removed the stock music app so it's probably still there. I haven't tried it yet so I don't really know for sure though.
You may also want to stay stock if it's what works for you. I'm on stock but am running JAC's ExtremeMod Voodoo kernel and I'm completely satisfied.
Ji5 w/ jac kernel rom uploaded, check it out.

Voodoo is working great on Eugenes JI5 with JAC kernel. Just flash the voodoo kernel after the rom.
It seems like almost all bricks can be fixed by flashing eugene's froyo rom and then reflashing to stock. What is so special about this rom?

Not so sure but I think its because it wipe everything. I call it ol'faithfull. eugene373 ROCK'S.
Perhaps it includes files not normally in most roms like the spl.bin and boot.bin.
Pure speculation on my part since I don't have much experience with it. But its a thought...

Here it is folks, in its bloated, ugly, and nasty touchwiz self. Kernel is included in the package. Rooted and busybox, only.
How to install, coming from Eclair:
1. Boot phone to download mode, and flash modem via Odin. Use pda button.
http://www.mediafire.com/?1r7uk6gf8d6s76z
2. Boot to clockwork recovery, and wipe data/factory reset. Then install rom.
http://www.mediafire.com/?dj5567v7gsiwan7
3. Before rebooting, also install the new clockwork package.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=942021
4. Boot up and enjoy...or hate. Your mileage may vary!

It's supposedly official.
Im running it now - if you go to software update it says its disabled on engineering builds. That would lead me to think it will be recompiled again, even if for no good reason.
Does anyone know if DL30 Themes work on the new build?
So if I'm on DL30 the leak all I need to do is flash the EB01modem.tar and flash EB01 in recovery to run this?

How might i flash the EB01 radio with Heimdall? I have tried. I am currently running the DJ05 radio with DL30 superclean 1.0
It was my understanding that a froyo update to the SGS line brings the necessary bootloader modification that is needed for our phone and heimdall to work together. DL30 is froyo... ostensibly that means we have the modified bootloader.
When i try to flash the EB01 radio with heimdall, i hit start, and it says it cannot find a compatible device. Can anyone shed any light on this?
If I'm on dl30 can I just flash the modem? I love my current setup

Things are settled now as I have been Ble to figure out the stuff.
So after trying superclen, evilfascination, and community rom I have come to the conclusion that personally (and no offence to no one) I like the stock roms more but without the samsung and verizon bloatware.
Could you great guyz suggest me the best debloated and all stock rom which is smooth to operate, has great battery life and doesnt hVe any known issues.
I would b highly thankful for the help, pl link me to the threads guyz.

UPDATE : guyz the kind suggestion given my dnoyeb here in the second post is really awesome and i suggest all should try this.

3 finger on first boot into cwm
Install adryn's ed01 debloat/debing click here
Install imnuts -100 voodoo (or -50 or stock voltage) click here
Installed latest su zip pack (probably not needed) click here
Booted up, voodoo conversion
Then rebooted back to recovery, which is now 3.x after installing imnuts, installed following:

Rebooted, all done.

If you followed the steps by dnoyeb, then you are correctly set up on a debloated/deodexed ED01 ROM. Your baseband is the modem/radio and would not have changed after you followed Adrynalyne's post to get to ED01 quickly. You flashed imnuts' ED03 ODIN package which would have given you the stock ED03 ROM and kernel, but not the ED03 modem so you were still at ED01 modem which is fine. Then you followed dneyob's steps to flash the ED01 Debloated/Deodexed ROM which would have changed you to the ED01 build from ED03 build. For all intents and purposes ED01 and ED03 are the same thing. ED03 simply added in a fix for those people who could not receive the ED01 OTA update. The verizon and android both flashing at the same time is just an overlapping boot animation that happened because as I recall you could not do a complete data wipe/factory reset for fear of losing the verizon network while you are in India. So other than that little quirk of the overlapping boot animations, you should be exactly where you wanted to end up - a debloated ED01 ROM and with imnuts' -100mv kernel you should see better battery life if your phone can handle the undervolting.
Congrats!
i guess i did exactly as you have outlined,
i am now gonna caliberate the battery and will revert tomorrow about the backup and stuff
love ya

when i first was learning how to root and flash, the thread for the evilfascination rom taught me everything i know. it does a great job in describing the steps to root and then flash the rom. i personally stuck with the evil fascination because its been so stable from the getgo and i love the overall theme of it. I kept getting peculiar bugs with comrom that i did not know enough yet to try and fix.
I suggest you go to the fascinate android development forum, and read the evil fascination thread.
I updated my post on the first page with links incase anyone else was looking at a quick rundown with links on how to get to a fully rooted / debinged / debloated type setup quickly.
Thanks a bunch matey.

Just do a full wipe and flash whatever ROM you want. I don't think it matters if you're coming from ICS.

Like the others said, if you don't have a nandroid backup, just do a full wipe & flash unnamed. I'm pretty sure it will flash the modem that unnamed comes with, but you wouldn't have to worry about modems anyway.
