I've seen countless threads extolling the virtues of rooting your Streak. I haven't read through every post in every one of those threads. One of the things I've seen touted is that you can remove the carrier installed bloatware to tidy up the phone. What I haven't seen is a description of how to perform these removals. Does the option to uninstall suddenly appear when you open "Manage Applications" where it wasn't there before? Do you have to delete folders and perform some arcane ritual? I'm sure it is outlined somewhere. If someone could supply a link, that would be terrific.
Thank you.
there are many ways, but this is easiest:

use this
this is the one i use. it works very well. do be careful what you remove though. i have removed everything DELL on mine and Swype as well. make sure you install a launcher and set it as the default launcher before you uninstall the dell one. best of luck and have fun with your crazy super fast dell streak. i love mine.......

I like to use an app that can freeze the unwanted app so I can test the result and reverse the process if I need or want to.
I use Titanium Backup, but there are other options.

I would recomend this one too Root uninstaller:
https://market.android.com/details?id=org.baole.rootuninstall&feature=search_result
You can also see the apps I have removed with no issues at all.
I used Titanium Backup to remove all the Dell crapware that was installed, also Swype and StageUI.
I'm a bit concerned that if I have to do a full wipe, that there may be issues, but I made backups before I wiped them.
Can anyone put my mind at ease?

Anyone else have this issue? To install the new market I had to use my system app remover, and I wonder if that's what went wrong. I have the AT&T 2.3.4 rom and am (obviously) rooted, unlocked bootloader, yada yada yada...
When I click an app or game it will go through the screens until I hit "Install" and then pops up this:

Any suggestions? Or does anyone have an APK of the original market I can install? I think it was listed as vending or android.vending or something like that.
(Note to self: back things up before removing them = )
Once I backup my market i will post link. backing up now.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WTRCI35D
Its the vending.apk should revert you back to working market
try if dont work let me know.
Just use the app manager to uninstall the update. That's what I did to get back to the old version.

Thanks, market looks like old one, but now I get force close more frequently, after clicking pretty much anything. Like as soon as I click "Games" at the top I have force close now. I must have removed something important when I uninstalled the old market... I don't use the market enough to really care that it's gone though, and any app that I find there I could just sideload I guess. If it bothers me enough I'll just re-flash. Thanks for the help guys.
flash 2.3.4 system.img via fastboot just the system should fix it
I had to do that once or twice
Thanks I'll try that right now, just backing up all my apps and stuff. I'll try just flashing system, and then won't restore the market app when I restore backups if it works. I'll post back results in case this happens to anyone else.
Update: Flashing just system worked like a charm, still have all my apps and all too! Thanks for the suggestion Xenocyde!
Hi guys,
I am currently experiencing a frustrating issue with my android device and I am stumped at how to fix it.
The device in question is a Dynavin car stereo that runs the Android platform.
I have updated the ROMS and even roll backed to older versions but this issue persists. I am now using a totally modified ROM created by a user on here for my device.

}
My issue is, every 5 or 6 boot ups of my device all my settings seem to revert to default. Well not "all" but I will explain in further detail.
When my issue arises, google maps/navigation/mail will not load, it will crash and go back to the home screen.
Google PLAY will revert to Google Market, when I log into market, it will update all google programs.
Once updated, maps/navigation/mail all work perfectly fine.
My installed programs are unaffected to the extent that they do not need updating, however, all their settings which I adjust, revert back to normal, all the dialogue boxes return, its like as if I'm running the program for the first time again.
Does anyone know what the issue could be and how to fix it? It doesnt happen all the time with every boot up but it does happen quite frequently.
When there is no issue, the system works fine and requires no updates etc.
I feel it may be something to do with the ROM? Should files be moved to the memory card to preserve certain settings? But if I do that, how will Android know where to find these files?
Any ideas, support would be greatly appreciated!
Just a suggestion, if you are flashing ROM I asume you have root access. Titanium backup and link2sd will allow you to freeze market updater (system apk) and this should prevent you from receiving market updates.

mm, dont think the device has root access.
It can be flashed by just inserting a updated ROM on a memory card which picks it up on boot up.
I may try and install something for root access and try what you have mentioned.
sorry for the noob question, tried to search, couldn't find anything related.
i've been trying out the different roms to see which one i like. Is there any tips, process or app to use to speed up setting phone, like configuring your emails, contacts, etc...
thanks
Backup your user apps with titanium backup, then do a batch restore user apps. I use gosms to backup my messages.
Also if you use nova or apex launcher then do a backup with those apps.
All of my contacts are merged with Google so when i sync my gmail account all my contacts are already on my phone.
Hope this helps, happy flashing!

the only things that can be setup to speed up the configuring process is in the sms/call log/apps backup restores. You don't want data restoring going from rom to rom, and I've yet to find an app that will restore widgets to the pages that you had them previously.
sms backup and restore= sms/mms backup
call log backup and restore= call log list
my backup or titanium backup= apps backup
I know it's not much but to maintain the way your homescreens are setup from rom to rom would require you maintain your data intact and that will give you nothing but issues/bugs, because data from a rom won't behave correctly in the next, this is why all roms suggest a full wipe before a flash.

If it is bloatware, installing a clean rom might help, yes. But you also have the option, if you're rooted, of disabling/uninstalling the bloatware apps. Searching "System app remover" in the app store is a good start.
Thank your for your response
do u have any suggestions for rooting app ?
Depends on the device and the Android Version.
Now, can you uninstall any of those apps without root?
Do they just redownload themselves?
i can uninstall them but they comes every 15h again (around 5-6 apps always same) but always installs 2-3 of them
then i delete them and after 10-15 h other 3 installs
and again and again
Hmm.. If this happens even after factory resetting, then I'd say you could try to disable automatic updates... Or, if there's custom ROM's for your device, try one out! Otherwise, I don't know what to tell ya.
yes it happens after factory reset
there is no custom rom for this phone
but i got stock (official rom) which i dowloaded
but im afraid its same like one is on phone atm but im not sure
i never installed rom or custom rom so im leaving that for last option
hello
i managed root phone and i got this
is it safe to remove this apps
does anyone know can i delete this bloatware apps or not ?
is any of them miss labeld as bloatware ?
bump

I Will Lost all file in my phone?
Tried Evereything! Did find the best solution. OK Google works!
I just got adb tool and drivers and removed ALL of the bloatware including the voice assistant, store, cloud you name it. I installed Nova Launcher as that seems to be very good and most like Anroid 9 Pie in terms of customisation. Romoved oppo launcher of course and reboot.
Set up Google Assistant and then you have the option in the settings with Nova launccher to have it as enabled all the time and disco!
The only thing you can't do is wake it up from locked screen with Hey or O|k google. However as soon as you have swiped in and its had a look at your head everything is voice activated. You have to occasionly choose and confirm the app mainly at first time off using that command such as which clock (I had the system and google one) for timer and alarm sets and which calender or reminders etc and same with notes. However it is just a click 1 time and then you never notice you are using an inuriating chinese variant!
You have to block everything in the settings for the remaining stock apps that you either can't delete or shouldn't.
Also I think having an Oppo ID was useful and will be if anything goes wrong. Although I'm told all the apps and everything come back after a factory reset but you never know.
I'm actually happy with the phone now and enjoy using it ffor the first tome since getting it and being sorely dissapointed!!
'll try and answer any questions but there are lists and links on here ffor the adb platform tools, drivers and commands etc as well as a list of programs safe to delete which is a little outdated as there are now more but the risky ones iI still agree are probably not worth rocking the boat with.
Not sure about other launchers but I had loads installed and Nova came recomended and seems to be unique in being able to set the gogle assistant as default because otherwise I would have found a post like this one by now sureley??
Get it done, its life changing and low risk high reward!!
PS. You can now use any widget you want to your hearts desire with this configuration and so far nothing in chinese has popped up and its ully customised to my liking and very usable!!!
