I have to admit, I had an Iphone until a few days ago and all this stuff is pretty new.
For now, i managed to get root access install custom roms etc . i tried around and get comfortable with the phone.
My big problem, I got an x10 mini pro & for me its absolutely neccessary that the browser supports flash since i want to play rushpoker xD, on my phone.
So either i find a way to get flash running, or I must buy a new phone
I tried a lot of custom roms, but there are sooo many of them, and i am just stuck at all these informations, i just dont know what to choose etc. so i need a little help there from some of the more experienced users. And yes, im aware that there is something called a search function, but, hey, i just dont want to try & try & try.
Can someone tell me which version of custom rom is the best for my x10 mini pro to get flash working? thanks

hi everyone im new to this site but have known about it for a while, i have an x10 mini pro and have seen software upgrades to make it run android 2.3 but i dont know how to do this ,could somebody help me step by step(if you have time) tell me how to do this. i followed some instructions tonite but messed up.

If you check x10mini development you should be able to find the flashtool from binary, it roots and flashes roms for the whole xperia range.

I have just bought my wife a SE X10 Mini Pro I want to install full english firmware as there is some chinese language in the phone aswell as English. I have searched this forum and have found some stuff BUT I want to do it right. I dont want to screw it up so I would like to help if thats ok. Can someone link me up to exactly what I need, both flashing tool and the correct firmware. I have flashed a SE K850i with generic fw without too much trouble. I take it this phone is a whole different kettle of fish??? Any help with this would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance guys. Im not too worried about rooting it, I just want to change the FW.

First thank you all developers for making our phones so mutch better for all of us. Dont know were our androids devices would be with out xda, you guys rock.
ok now having said that, i need some help here.
i just got a mini pro u20a and on the same day i rooted using superone click, and intalled minicm7 and loved it on my tiny new phone!!!! I was so exited i didnt even notice i had loss 3G!!!! I flashed firmware u20I ahhhh im such a noob.
now i search and ead lots and lots of post , and tried many suggestions but none have worked. There is always a missig pieceto the instructions.
For example, for as mutch as i seard i cant seem to find how to give files permitions.
All i want is to get my 3g working again, flash the right firmware to get 3g again
i have tried the prop file with no success because i dont see how i can give or mout foders.
tried flashtools and keep getting "error flashing" even dough i have development mode on.
Please help, thnak youin advance..

First off you have posted in the wrong section. This is DEV section... u must post questions in QnA section
Having said that, I presume u installed Paul-xxx's minicm pro 7???

Replace with MiniCM7 Pro V16.
ok i did the sony update service, removing all files from the update folder and left the brazillian files in there. I got my mdelnumber back on the about phone section u20a but i still failoto gt 3g service, weird i see the att 3g but no tmobile 3g, anyways i thought ok now i can flash minicm7 pro v16 and get 3g back.
well flashed that and love the rom but guess what now im back at wrong modelnumber u20I and still no 3g.

You need to make sure your flashing a ROM from the X10 Mini section NOT the Mini Pro. They don't work on each other.

about phone model it's not problem, you can edit in buildprop if yuo want back to U20a.
For 3G problem :
1. Check if you not enable use only 2G networks
go to setting > wireles & network setting>mobile setting (don't enable use only 2G networks)
2. Check APN setting if that right
3. Check if you in 3G area.
Ok.. did some findin... u20a and u20i seem to differ in their modem only
READ PAGE 6 HERE FOR INFO
so i guess they'l have different basebands. I dont understand why it would affect ROM's...

Regarding what the about screen says, dont worry about u20a r u20i. check to see if you have same baseband with stock firmware and minicmpro roms.

Im a complete noob at all this but with your instructions I managed to install GINGERDX on my Sony xperia mini 10a (american version)
Now my problem is my wifi could not find a network now after upgrading my rom. I was able to use my own network when Im here at home when I was running 2.1 on factory xperia
Is there a way to revert back to factory 2.1 like if it came stock on the mini 10 or before I upgraded to Gingerdx?
I might be selling the phone and just wanna make sure that I can downgrade it back to 2.1

I found many links to download the ftf file (android ICS 4.0.4) for xp mini pro SK17a and SK17i and many other models, but nothing for the U20i! ... anybody have some links or infiormation about it ?

There is no official ICS firmware for our devices, SE never even gave us a frozen yogurt, so the only way to get ICS on your phone is either MiniCM9 or this one, which is based on ICS sources.
Oh, I thought that you was searching a kernel for android 4.0.4 . The thread i gave include's a link to a kernel that support android 4.0.4 (CM9).

Nope, sorry, the SK17i runs on a newer SoC than ours, and they're not compatible.
You would have to recompile it all from source, which is what the provided links have already done for us , they are really the only options for our phones.

Can any one please suggest how i can upgrade Xperia mini pro U20i to ics. I have tried all process in this forum but i am unable to flash a security error is coming while doing that.

Thought to upgrade to ICS but the problem is that I'm not experienced at all in these android update&upgrade things. (I'm mostly a computer guy ) I've read instructions how to upgrade etc.. but I'm not risking do it alone although I rooted my phone few hours earlier (whatever that means ) I need someone experienced to show me either on Skype or any other IM step-by-step how to upgrade my OS before I go crazy about it ICS seems like a cool upgrade and I want to try it out. Reply here or PM me, doesn't matter. Please just help me to accomplish this task. Appreciate it. Thanks in advance ))

Start thinking of your phone as a computer... It will make things easier.
Root access (which is easy to come by on Windows, but usually needs a password on linux) allows you to tinker with your system-files.
And there is a tutorial around here somewhere, where the poster has gone through the trouble of making screenshots for every step needed, so maybe you could search for that.
