It has been my lifetime goal to make it as a developer and I know just were to start! But the problem is I can't get my Android Kitchen for Rom Development setup. Is there any noob friendly tutorial or can someone please help me do it over Teamviewer? I worked through several videos, stickies in the forums, and written out tutorials I just need lots of help. If you dont have Teamviewer but would like to help me do it by remote access, please download it and contact me here. Thanks

That suggests to me your having problems?, which is why I asked. Are you trying to use dsixda's kitchen?

Yeah but Idk how to do it period. Idk what i messed up! When I had virtualbox it would give me an error when i tried to install Ubuntu. Itbsaid kernel.error or something...

i've just noticed your posting in the wrong section of the forum, this section is for the htc hero g2 touch. you may get better help in the correct section.

i wish to learn ho to make a rom and help to fox bug/errors.
i found many posts, but they are still too complicated for me,
if somone has a littel time to teach me ho to prepare and install the kichen tool and how to use them,
i have never programmed, the only language that i know is html asp css, the last time that i used them is years ago...
if nobody has time or will not help me then i ask to the Admin/Mod to delete this post.

You can't expect to build a ROM without the knowledge of Java, C++, C etc..

So to make a rom you need to know Java, C++, C etc...
is there an alternative ? because, it's not so easy for me or other thet doesn't have this knowledge to start learning this languages :S specially when the entire time is occupied by work.

i have a good knowledge of C,C++,JAVA and learning php also....I'm an IT student....
but i don't have knowledge about devlopment m also need help...

hey there, can someone please help me setup dsixda's android kitchen properly, I have followed everything to the letter but it is still coming up with clear command not found,, im running windows 8 I have installed everything I needed but its still not working,, any help to get it working will get thanks

i am using dsixda's windows guide, and im using the latest jdk
omg this is SOO annoying, im should just give up now, if i cant even get cygwin and kitchen to work how am i gonna mod roms -_-
The easiest way is if you make a Ubuntu Live Stick or install Ubuntu on another partition.
I also was not able to set up kitchen on my Windows 7 Pc so i installed Ubuntu on my old Laptop and it worked instantly
i have snow leopard on vmdk, but using the virtual pc it wont reconise my external hdd
and im using a laptop with half a screen LOL, hooked up to my tv via hdmi, so theres no point repartitioning my hdd and installing ubuntu anything, im lucky i have installed windows too many times that i know were all the buttons are
im not a ubuntu person and have only used its years ago once,, any hints for setting up kitchen, im installing ubuntu now with windows installer hope it works

Since you've already set up Ubuntu , why not compile AOSP or CM7 from source
Or would you rather stick to the Kitchen ?
