[Q] Ghost splash screen? - Vibrant Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I flashed my t959 vibrant with I9000 rom by accident, and now i am getting the Galaxy Gt-i9000 screen right before the normal vibrant screen on boot up. Would this have any negative effects on the phone? Also, download mode has switched to vol + and power and vol + and - plus power is not working. I would like to get it back to 2.1 stock like it was out of the box. Tried factory reset, format, flash with odin, recovery user data wipe, no good. . How do i get rid of the GT-i9000 screen?

What exactly did you flash with odin? JFD?

How to properly Reset?

Hi,
I am looking to Reset my phone to stock again. I am using the original stock rom, but I do have several mods including a root, lagfix, mobileap, etc..
How would I go about reseting it back to normal ( Original state of a new Vibrant ) without having to flash a new rom? Thanks.
Unroot your phone, undo lagfix, then either do a master reset, or use the hidden code to do a factory format.

Everything worked fine, only thing is, I cant get into recovery mode anymore? Whats up with that. It has always been easy to do. I am wondering if it is with the Stock Rom I flashed? Or is there another way to get to recovery without power+up+down buttons?
UPDATE: I am able to get into it by holding volume+ and volume -, then holding down power, and when the Vibrant screen shows up, only letting go of the power button.

How are you trying to get into CWR?
open Rom Mgr, flash CWR, click on Vibrant if prompted, click on reboot into recovery.. should be at the stock recovey, click to reinstall packages *may need to do this twice*
I did that, but then it automatically goes black then goes to the Vibrant Screen.

Try powering down the phone, then holding down the volume keys and the power button (release the power button when you see the Vibrant logo), to see if you can get into recovery manually.
Finally got it, had to flash back to.stock using odin

Need help please! Odined but cant fully boot

I tried to Odin to stock T-Mo but I cant get passed the Galaxy S boot screen. It just goes black and if I touch the buttons they light up but phone stays black. I tried a number of times also clicked on repartition in Odin. Odin tells me everything passed but when the phones boots ROM Manager screen comes up goes through a check list with one line in red that reads "Data wipe Failed"
Can someone please help me out. Ran Odin many times but I cant get the phone to go back to full stock. I click repartition but it seems Odin does not wipe the internal SD. I am so vexed. Someone help
I have never partitioned. Or whatever. That can cause a soft brick.

I have before in it went well. The phone (my wifes) was bricked to begin with. It would not go past the white vibrant screen. So I Odined back to stock. It goes through the T Mo stick together screen then gets to the Galaxy S animation. But after the galaxy s logo he screen turns black and only if I touch the buttons to the buttons light up. I tried to reflash via Odin a number of times but I cant get the phone to fully boot.
What ROM you had before going back to stock?
Any lagfix? If yes disable it..

You should do it again. No repartition. Wipe data. Dont touch it. Odin will boot up the phone when its fully done.

Try eugenes froyo that doesn't brick then reset odin and then go to stock firmware I mean it couldn't really hurt anything

Okay it also accured to me to try Eugenes. So I did and it worked. But I can not install any programs. It tells me there is not enough space. Then when I look at settings/storage on the bottom it reads 0 space for apps.
Strange no? Any ideas
Thanks to everyone so far. I really appreciate it!
As I understand it as soon as you odin eugenes froyo you have to reset odin get the phone into dl mode again then use odin to put in the stock firmware

Yeah. Tried it on this phone which is my wifes and it bricked for some reason.
You gotta find a way to disable voodoo. Theres a way to disable it by putting something directly into the Voodoo folder but I cant find it =/

Jacs kernel always gave me bricks for some reason. Do what they said again. Flash to eugenes froyo that doesnt brick with repartition checked. Then RIGHT AWAY make sure you have the jfd rom for odin and flash that using odin with repartition unchecked. Dont try to flash a clockwork recovery rom from eugenes froyo that doesnt brick because you arent done fixing it at that point.

once this is fixed if you want voodoo, upgrade to a 2.2 rom and use supercurios own modified kernels. Never had a problem with them.

I cant get to the voodoo folder. I tried every firmware there is and only Eugenes froyo will fully boot. But I cant install any apps so I can get to me system folders so i can see whats going on.
Im so stressed and tired it aint funny.
When I flash a T Mo rom and the phone reboots and goes through a series of line checks (yellow text) I get red text that reads "data wipe failed". Then the phone boots, t mo jingle, then galaxy s screen, then black.
Anyone??? Devs? PLease?
Do you have root explorer?

Restoring to stock

Hi Guys, I tried flashing Eugene's gingerclone rom and it soft bricked my phone. Anyhow, I flashed back to stock with Odin, but It's not removing the AT&T loader his ROM came with. So everytime I restart my phone it shows the ATT logo first the the vibrant black & white screen, then whatever bootloader the rom comes with. How can I remove this and get my phone back in full stock mode so I can flash a clean nero5. Does it make a difference what version of Odin i'm using? I used version 3.1
Im not sure why there was an ATT bootloader involved since I am guessing you are using a T-mobile Vibrant. But, I dont use Eugenes ROMS. Anyway, You should be able to flash back to TRUE stock JFD via Odin. Just look for it in the Bible in the Development forum under ODIN roms. This will take you all the way back to stock and remove root.
Hello, yes I was able to restore the phone to stock and remove the root but when I reboot or turn on the phone it still shows the att screen first, then the black and white vibrant screen them the pink letters bootloader for T-Mobile. I followed the video tut from the Bible thread and it's still there. What else could I do? I feel like something is not being fully deleted or something.

Very interesting, Did you select re-partition during the odin flash?
Yes I selected re-partition like the video said. What to do?

Have you tried checking over at Eugenes forums http://eb-productions.proboards.com/ . I think I have seen a thread concerning this over there.
I just posted on hus q n a. I found some threads about deleting bootloader.zip or something. How would one do that? Do we SSH into the phone or something?

[Q] Bricked Vibrant

I need help! I was putting an gingerbread rom on my phone made by simply honey and it didn't work. It. went though the flash process like normal, but when it was time to reboot, it would only do the samsung vibrant download then it would say not enough space on partishoner then cut off and does the samething again. It won't let me reboot back into clockwork mod screen.
Can someone help me????
Get a stock voodoo kernel by supercurio for Odin and flash that. The use three buttons to recovery and try again or restore a backup or flash a Froyo rom.
