[Q]changing the value of phone to original when update is available in native country

do you think .it is possible to update or over lap the firmware with the latest firmware of original phone when available to restore the native country just like debranding the 1.6 phone by changing the value with different one?plz give opinion.
If someone uploads the U20 2.1 uk generic firmware after its released you could then just flash with Bin4ry's flashtool to replace it??? At least thats what im hoping anyway!!!

this doesnot work now i am in continuous boot loop .so bad

this work the way to return back from nordic firmware to orginal firmware.

i will like you to share my knowledge regarding returning back to own country firmware from the nordic 2.1
first of all download the bin4ry update tool and firmware but not any firmware but 1.6 firmware
downgrade your firmware from 2.1 nordic to 1.6 any countries firmware should work
then change the value of build.prop to your orginal handset value or your choice value.for more information about the value you can search blog
then try to update it with seus. if it say you have latest firmware then repair it with seus and if seus dont give option for repair then use pc companion .
if you are lucky then you will get the latest firmware or downgrade your firmware to your choice of firmware and that is great for now cauz if there is any update for your choice of firmware then you will get update so need to wait for while
i know this work cauz i have done this by first of all i was using nordic 2.1 thou my orginal firmware is uk generic then i downgrade my firmware to netherland 1.6 and then i change the value/replace it with my orginal build.prop and now this mornign i repair my phone with seus and it is working like acharm 2.1 ..hurry guys ...
i have included my build.prop 1.6 so this should work for each and every one
Thanks for share.
I dit it myself with my original italian firmware few days ago. Now, i'm trying to decrypt my original firmware. I've seen a tool here. Do you remember that?

Use the NL one in the link above, root the phone using Androot, copy the build.prop from the first post to /system/usr and replace the old one, then open PC Companion while your phone is connected and click update.
Hi @all,
i am looking for the 1.6 German Firmware, i would go back from 2.1 because i have now problems with my bluetooth hands free
Thanks badboybiky and Skeldave.
Had to downgrade back to 1.6 because 3G wasn't working on SG version of 2.1

[Q] How to change the firmware/baseband?

Hi there,
Please don't freak out on me for not perusing the posts. I have and unfortunately I couldn't find the post I was originally looking for (I saw it there a few months ago, book marked it, but lost it after an HDD crash - I now know the value of Xmark sync).
A few months ago I flashed my phone to a simple generic 2.1 firmware. Nothing fancy. Since doing so I've had some weird issues where some apps fail to work now, even the Weather Network's widget fails to launch. Weird, frequent random FCCs, etc.
My phone is an X10a, and was upgraded to:
Firmware: 2.1-update1
Baseband: 2.1.54
Kernel Version: 2.6.29
Build Number: 2.1.A.0.435
The issue i have is that after the upgrade, it changed my language from English to spanish I think, and it purged all the info regarding the Mobile Network Settings (APN's, Voicemail settings, etc).
Because of these issues, I would like to re-flash my phone with SEUS but to the ENGLISH Generic. If I can't do that I would like to flash it back to the Rogers firmware if possible.
Is there a way for me to do so easily?
I remember that there was a guide on the forum that talked about editing a few files using a program from the Market in order, with root access, in order to change the country code information that the phone is currently using, so that using SEUS will force the phone to download a different firmware. But I have come up empty on my search. Or maybe it was a really weird dream lol
Have you tried the SEUS to get back the original Rogers firmware image? I messed up my phone a few times and the SEUS was always able to restore the default Rogers image.
Use the flashtool to flash global generic .435 FW and select your location and language when you do your initial setup. Search the Dev forum for the Flashtool thread by Androxyde. Flashtool is also how you flash the BB of your choice.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Thats the link to the flashtool. The FW links are in that thread too. If you want a different BB independent of the FW there's a thread with a collection of all available BBs in the Dev forum.

robotfoodisgood: Using SEUS installs the firmware for what ever region the phone has been coded to use. When I attempt to use SEUS, the language becomes Spanish, and all the settings dealing with Voicemail, APN, and Network get purged. I used Titanium backup prior to performing this flash. When I realized that my settings were gone, I re-downloaded it from the Market and restored my settings. I'm not sure if its an incompatible setting was introduced during the restore process that has caused my phone to act the way it has.
CMoney87: I will give that a shot. Hopefully this will fix the issue. I was originally planing on upgrading to one of the Gingerbread firmwares. After hearing that Sony was going to release a 2.3.3 firmware of their own - however fairly stripped (from what I've read - no live wallpaper, no HD camera, no face tracking, mediascape, etc). If that is the case I don't see the need to wait for a few more months in order to get Gingerbread, there are already better rom's already available for us to use.

Are the Global Generic sin files the same as the Generic ftf files? If not the sin files are no longer available for download it seems. In either case I'm about to try the Global Generic ftf file for my phone. Hopefully this works Fingers and toes crossed! LOL
[EDIT]
Before flashing to the Generic I did a bit more searching and fell apon this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9200597&postcount=22
this allowed me to fully restore it back to the Rogers firmware. After performing the SEUS update my settings are as follows:
Model: X10a
Firmware Version: 2.1-update1
Baseband: 2.1.55
Kernel Version: 2.6.29
Build Number 2.1.1.A.0.6
I still fully plan on flashing the Generic firmware (probably tomorrow after church and a visit to the in-laws), but was wondering if it would be beneficial to backup the firmware and baseband, and perhaps posting it somewhere for others to use should someone want to restore their phone to that of a Rogers firmware should issues arise?
Before flashing to the Generic Firmware, I'll root the phone and use Titanium Backup to backup the current settings so that should the Generic firmware not retrieve the APN and voicemail setting information from Rogers, that I can restore it easily enough.
Sure, you can always just put the backup on a PC too if you wont be using it for a while and dont have the room on your SD. Just dont rename it.

X10 going in for USB Issue

Hi guys
So my X10 is going to be picked by SE from my home to be taken in for an assessment with regards to my failing USB port, at the moment my X10 is running a custom ROM but ive got a Nordic stock FW that i often flash it back to when i dont like a custom ROM.
Im in South Africa, so my question is will SE notice ive flashed a Nordic FW when repairing the phone? Do they generaly check that sort of thing? And if so then how can i flash it back to SA FW again?
They didnt check my phone, just replaced the motherboard and flashed the stock firmware.
ah ive got the same problem, sending it back also i flashed the generic fw back with flashtool, im also hoping they cant tell

Try getting generic onto your device.
Use seus to update.
That puts the official latest firmware and baseband for your region onto your phone
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
flashing through SEUS probably isnt possable with a broken usb port
You can try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054818
Thank you so much for your help guys!
Ive downloaded a stock FW that was pre-rooted, so i'll flash it via xrecovery and then unroot before they pick it up.
Hope they just give me a new X10 altogether, i love mine but its scratched and the silver is peeling off the 3 bottom buttons.

[Q] How to go back to the Source/Original Android Version? For X10MPro

Hey people.
I wanted to know: is there a way to know what was the firmware/android version that came with the phone when i bought it?
Because i already change from 2.1.1.0.A.6 to 2.1.1.C.0.0 and vice-versa and now my firmware is not the original one anymore :S, I'm from Portugal and i don't know what was the Official Firmware/Android Version that came with the phone when i bought it, i want to installed it back to my phone so i can have my phone Original again without having different firmware. And if that is possible, where can i download it?.
I'll give 'Thanks' to good answers.
Cheers :good:

It came with 1.6 when SonyEricsson brought it out, and they provided updates to 2.1, with 2.1.1.C.0.0 being the last one they provided for the x10mini pro. So if you've got that firmware, your phone is still considered original, if that update was available in your region.
If your phone was locked to a specific provider, with their provider specific software (bloatware) installed, you won't be able to get it back to how it was when you bought it.
If you want to make sure you have the last original firmware for your phone for your region, do a repair with PC-Companion or SEUS. And if you had your bootloader unlocked, use S1Tool's restore function to lock it again afterwards. More original than that is impossible.
Now there's another problem, i don't know where i can download a firmware for the Portugal region, the greek firmware works but it has the keyboard problem 'buttons รง and ," that GB roms also have, so i would need to root the phone to fix that.
So there's no way to get the original firmware back :S.
Yes i can always repair with that but...if the firmware is the wrong one 'brazilian firmware for example' then those programs can't find the firmware for the repair.
I hope i never need to repair my phone and that i can stick with the GB roms, they're so much better than original eclair.
Cheers :good:
