Hey Guys,
Something I made when I first got my nook (about 4 days ago!)
USed bits n pieces from here:
http://yankoa.deviantart.com/art/MetroDroid-200340391 (raw circle icons)
Some other dude gave me the idea wil post if i see him again,
Achieved using:
Folder organiser (for apps)
Desktop Visualiser
Download the Icons here:
http://s1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff438/androidatnight/
Icons so far:
Settings
Applications
Games
Books
Music
Spotify
Office (x3)
I might work on this to add more icons, but tbh if you want more icons you can add them using the afore mentioned icons from DA, and using an attached icon as a template, I may make some widget skins and lock screen skins to complement this if I have the time
For the set up I use one homescreen on ADW with desktop bounce set to 0.

Thanks for the contribution.
Hey, thats what I was gonna say! Thanks for sharing this.
awesome icons. the zip you provided is empty though
ooops thanks, uploaded them to photobucket instead, dropbox wouldn't play nice
Man, that looks clean! I really like it. So, do you suppose this could work with Zeam as well?
should do, as long as you can use desktop visualiser and re size widgets it shoud work

Awesome! In an attempt to minimize all clutter, I think this would go a long way.
How does it look like when you tap on an icon?
Have you assigned folders to the icons?, or are they just shortcuts to apps?
I liked to use your icons as folder icons. But I don't know how to do this in desktopvisualizer. also the standard folders aren't so pretty.
any ideas?
edit: got it to work with folder organizer.
could you make a office folder icon, that would be the only one I needed to complete my desktop. thanks.
Ill add some more icons when I have some free time
Updated my photobucket with 3 new office ones (same icon 3 diff colors hopefully one fits) and a spotify icon
Thanks very much for the icons, I actually needed the red icon to match the rainbow.
I took a office icon you made and changed the background color to red.
Looks very nice now.
Edit: Nevermind, figured it out.
Thanks for sharing. Seen this on youtube. Will try this on my Nookcolor.
Btw, how many desktop columns & rows did you set for ADW? I'm running CM7 with Tablet Tweaks (mad murdock) and can't get the spacing between item small enough. Thanks
I have this same problem. But I think it's because of tablet tweaks having the status bar at the bottom, as he was using the regular CM7 nightlys... Could be wrong though.
It looks nice by me.
I've got 6 columns and 10 rows with launcherpro.
desktopvisualizer icons offcourse are set to 4•1 and I have to drag them bigger so they fit.

10x10
hope that helps
Links are down.
edit: nvm
Mine caps out at 8x8 so i can only fit four at a time. How did you get it to allow 10x10?
use adw and disable the dock and make it 8x8 but then fits 2 more so looks like 10x10

Is there a way to have no Icon over apps on the desktop? I know I could make lettered Icons and choose to have no "labels", but I was wondering if it were possible to have no icon or transparent icons w/ labels showing.
Thanks in advance.
Use a blank png file as the icon via better cut
I did transparent icons and a custom wallpaper so that the image itself (which has 5 peoples faces at the bottom where thee dock is...) Ended up being where the icons are... So I still knew where my app shortcuts were

Mr. Moonrock-man-him-sir, would you mind sharing a screenshot? I completely understand your suggestion, but I'm interested in your artistic vision and what you've created. Always looking for ideas.

Each of the guys' faces have a clear png icon over them -- linking to phone, contacts, app drawer, web and messages. I've got icon labels turned off and wallpaper scrolling turned off (so it doesn't move the image when I scroll to a different screen, as then the icons would be off of the "guide" of the guys' faces on the dock on another screen) -- No other icons are on the main screen, I've got them all on other screens.
I did this back in the day on my iPhone when I had it as well, so I just yanked the idea from that and re-created the wallpaper to fit the correct resolution. (Note: the wallpaper image itself is larger and has blank blue bars on each side, as otherwise it'd be cropped when applying it like all other wallpapers)
Woah that's pretty! Now if I only didn't change my wallpaper often and with things that don't have objects I can use for shortcuts, THIS would be perfect. Very nice moonrock.

Welcome! It does take some dedication and/or real love of that main screen wallpaper to give up the shortcuts/widgets/etc from your main screen in order to do this
I remember on my iPhone i hid a few other blank icons in the top corners for various things that I *really* wanted on the main screen so they were still easily accessible.
Thanks for sharing moonrock! That is the same idea, minus the NKOTB, . Still searching for some good wallpapers. Again, great work!
Yeah, kinda assumed nobody would want my wallpaper around here
However, in case you want it (even for a guide or something) it is here:

You need Launcher Pro
* Under "Appearance Settings" - Select "Hide icon labels", Select "Disable wallpaper scrolling"
Unfortunately guys this isn't a flashable theme.
I have been messing around with the Honeycomb look for the last week.
I've had some requests to share how I achieved the look so here goes.
Some of these are going to be paid apps, but lets support our devs!
First up screenies and there's a bunch

}
First up you're going to need Launcerpro plus. Once you have paid for it go to Signals23's thread and download his Honeycomb theme here. That will get you the messaging, agenda, bookmarks, Friends, etc...widgets. You will want to set up 5 columns on your homescreens in the LPP settings. These widgets will need to be resized just longpress and resize to fit your look.
Next for the honeycomb clock at the bottom of my homescreen you will need one more clock widget from here.
The weather widget is just Beautiul Widgets 1x1 with the "None" weather skin.
Beautiful widgets can be downloaded from the market here for $1.96.
The battery widget is BattStatt. You can download the free version here. I recommend upgrading to the Pro version for more customization.
The analog clock is Honeycomb clock FREE which can be downloaded from the market here.
Most of my icons are from the Ares HD icon pack by Radius which can be found here.
A few of the icons are from iconspedia, so if you don't see them in Ares HD check there.
The APPS+ icon is a shortcut that I set up for my settings. The icon is an icon from Manup's Minimal Text Clean icon pack that I played with in GIMP. Here it is, if you can't see it it's there just save and move to your SD card.
Right click above this and save the image.
I am using Audio Manager Pro with the Minimal skin from Johnny Bueno found here on the market.
For my music widget I am using Music Mod which can be downloaded from the market here.
For the dock and dock icons I am using this pack created for the Evo by bizdady.
For the power controls on my notification pull shade I am using Power Control Plus which can be purchased from the market here for $2.02.
The search widget and genie widget are included in Newkidd's AwesomeROM. Special thanks go out to him and all the above mentioned devs. Man I love Android.
If you find anything else to contribute to the look or just want to share please add to the thread.
If I locate anything else or incorporate any suggestions I'll add to this post.

nice! are you going to make a rom based off of this current UI setup? If not, is the theme just applied to stock? or can it be run on roms without bootloop issues?
Might be a silly question, but I cant seem to get my music mod to look like yours. How did you do that?

It's the 4x2 widget resized due to the homecreen being set to 5 columns in LPP.

This look can mostly be achieved with the stock ROM. There's no flashable theme, just a lot of random pieces I've put together in this thread.

I recall a homescreen thread some time ago (last year) that I can't find now. One of the posters presented his homescreen, which had no traditional icons of any sort. Instead, he used a wallpaper that he created and used a launcher that would make certain regions open certain apps. They were not square regions. He mapped the regions by actually drawing them. This way, he didn't need to adhere to the grid structure, and his icons were integrated in the wallpaper, creating a sort of spiral formation of items of various geometries.
Anyone know what I'm talking about? Trying to find that app.
The technique is called "Ninja App." Here's the wallpaper you were referring to:

I made my own beach-themed version a while back: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12658060&postcount=63
and here's the thread about it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=987059
The wallpaper itself is actually still on a grid...you just use customize the launcher to have more icon places (such as making it 6x6 or 8x8), then placing a transparent icon where the image is on the wallpaper and link the icon to the action you want. I used ADW EX when I made mine so I could hide the status bar and dock, but any launcher that allows customizing the number of icons on the rows/columns will work.

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate the tidy organization of your post and comprehensiveness of your brief tutorial on how to achieve your desired effect.
I'm even more impressed that you actually found homescreen that matches my description, because I was making it up! I was on a Dell Streak forum and people were showing off their homescreens. One poster had paint blotches spattered across the screen with the title of an app littered within each blotch. I didn't think people would respond to kindly to a Dell Streak description (i.e. "You're in the wrong thread," "wrong forums," etc.), so I wrote up something reasonable and hoped someone would know what I was talking about. I am a Vibrant user, however, so it's all good!
You are very welcome! Always happy to help a fellow vibrant user.
You're description was so on point with that wallpaper, I thought for sure that was what you'd "seen." How funny! I guess you were destined to use it with the Ninja App technique.
Let me know if you have any questions about how to do it. Like I mentioned, I used ADW Ex and made the grid larger to be able to better place the transparent icons, and ADW Notifier for the notifications.
You'll have to post a screenshot of your setup once it's done to show how it turned out!
Just got a TouchPad last week and loaded the latest nightly build of ICS
Came across threads from last year about creating "hubs" for Honeycome
A dedicated screen for each media.
I liked the idea, so I started playing around with it over the weekend....

(my old Z)
and my home page, which I just have quick link stack for now...
1st in MuliPicture Live Wallpaper.
I picked 5 wallpapers I wanted to use (resize to screen size of ur tablet)
Next pick a photo for each screen.
The 1st is far most left. I made this my video screen.
Next screen, I made my music screen
The 3rd one is for your main desktop
(I haven't played with Apexi docking draw yet so for now I just used ICS to put all my most frequently used apps.)
4th screen I used as my next most used apps
5th All Games
In MPLW I have 'used lock screen settings' checked.
Everything else unchecked
Transition type a few work, so test to see which you prefer.
I use 'none'
Apex setting I have the following
Number of screens 5
Default screen 3
Automatic grid size - Not checked
Portrait and Landscape I have at -6x8
Horizontal margins small
Vertical margins medium
Preview animation - scale in and out
Wallpaper
* From show Wallpaper on, check
Anyone need help, just post, and I'll try to assist
Interesting

That's pretty cool, do you think you can post a tutorial?
I'm wondering how you get the different wallpapers for each "hub". Is that one wallpaper stitched together of different images, or some sort of live wallpaper?
I used MultiPicture Live WallPaper & Apex
I'll try to do a write up on how I did it, when I'm home..
Just took sometime to get the settings right so that all 5 screens would scroll right and for them to look good in portfolio view..

I love what you've done. Just a quick question: does the launcher you're on affect multipicture live wallpaper? I have tried it numerous times on Nova launcher, and despite changing settings, I can never get it to display different wallpapers (they're always the same on each screen). Looking forward to your 'how-to' to see if I missed anything- thanks
Thanks Everyone!

Going to flash shostock2 but I like some of the icons I have, especially the neon blue main dock items, the pandora one, the nicer FB and YT icons over stock etc. These are from themes on Go Launcher EX. Is there a way to export/save those certain icons to use anywhere/rom/theme? Searched and can't really find anything, as I know if you long press the icon it gives you an option to import a custom icon.
thanks

I know took me forever to find a weather/clock widget I liked. It's the 3D Flip Clock & Weather widget, and the 3D Flip Clock & Weather white glass theme pack. Easy to set for multiple areas for weather, and when you click the icon (the cloud in this case) it brings up a forecast. You can change a lot with it too, from the look, to the images used for weather etc. Cool little option to have the battery meter there too and it's accurate.

Once you flash shostock2 you can use GO Launcher still or install Apex Launcher and have the Go theme you want to use installed, long press the dock icon in Apex you want to change, click edit, click the icon in the pop up then "select from icon packs" then pick the Go theme with the icon you want, then pick the icon from the list.
