It MIGHT be the boot animation.
Maybe there was a problem with odin?
Etc.
Just replace boot animation, see if it works
boot animation did not change it. I REALLY want it gone
Which kernel and modem are you using?
thats really odd ODIN didn't replace it. at&t bootanim after fresh ODIN and at&t after flash of ROMs huh. How bout kernels? still at&t? Do you get either one of the custom bootanims?
I am now using overstock with kb1 modem

Wait so instead of saying Vibrant Samsung it says attworld phone?
Or is it the bootanimation?

i am having the same problem here.
It's not a boot animation. You must have flashed sbl.bin from the ATT ROM...can you provide a link to the ROM you were trying to port?
You need to flash the vibrant sbl.bin. I believe it's in the bible.
Its your bootloader....you need to re-flash the original vibrant sbl.bin to get rid of it. JI6 has it I believe...if not its JFD
i have odin it using both and still i get the at&t logo, its driving me crazy.

Help? It's just a bit annoying, does anbody know how to get rid of it? It'd be greatly appreciated thanks!
Long story short, I used the Odin program for the captivate on accdident, but I found the Odin program for the Vibrant and got it back to stock. But I still have the AT&T Start Screen.
I unfortunately did the same thing some time back. Everything works fine it's just annoying. Would love to find out how to fix this...

bump in hopes for answers.
I had something similar to this when I flashed Eugene's Vibrantfroyo R3 and instead of the AT&T one I had the GT-I9000.. but when I downgraded back to FranklinTwiz.. it went back to normal.
You could try flashing a variation of Froyo that doesn't brick and see if that helps?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788784
(Or.. Odin) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=740558
Note: Be sure to have a 2.1 KERNEL on your sd card, flash the 2.1 kernel before downgrading back to 2.1 otherwise a brick will possibly occur.
the OTA update solves the issue!! I'm back to normal after my update!!

That sounds promising! Will have to give it a try. *Hope it works*
FYI, The method above about installing the Froyo build did not work for me. It did chage how the startup screen looked, but not the initial boot screens. Back to the drawing board...

I just flashed the most recent CM7 update for Galaxy S and I have NO data connection, thus I'm thinking this is a problem with trying to flash this on our device model... Their FAQ says to lock and unlock your phone to fix this, however, that has not worked. Thus I ask if any dev would like to try and fix this so us vibrant users can have us some CM7 goodness? No bashing/

But be warned, follow ALL the directions to the point and remember you'll only get data connection by using this:

AND you'll have to ODIN to stock to revert to any other ROM.

I forced 2.2 onto the phone with Kies Mini and ever since then battery life has been atrocious and bluetooth will no longer connect to my stereo. Tried every single route to flash a custom ROM on the phone and nothing will get it to work. I just want to go back to the way it was with 2.1 and unroot it. Can anyone point me in the right direction before this phone ends up in a million pieces? Odin? I thought uninstalling Kies Mini might do the trick but I dont see it in my app list
Download AIO : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=954509
PDA: www.justanotherdev.slackdev.com/T959UVJFD.tar
PIT : www.justanotherdev.slackdev.com/s1_odin_20100512.rar
1. Connect your phone with debugging enabled
2. Open Flash to stock
3. Find Pit file
4. Find PDA file
5. Click start
then you're done! Goodluck

I was scared as hell when doing my first rom flash also, but it is TOTALLY worth it. You'll have a completely different phone depending on what you flash. Just follow all the instructions and there's plenty of help along the way if something goes awry

Yeah stay away from Kies, hard bricked me, had to riff box recover.
I was looking for stock 2.2 recently too, hard to find most links didn't work.
Is there any specific reason you need stock? Most 2.2 roms now are plenty stable.
