damn, I'm so jealous of your N1. I've been trying to scoop one off cheap off eBay. Everyone wants $300+ for it...

S15, thanks for the apk, but I'm asking for wallpapers from cm7 from the beta we.have now, that one has like more than these.
S15, can you tell me where the files would be?
Nevermind! Found em! Thanks very much!

Yeah, I couldn't grab the folder because I was not able to extract the. Apk on my pc. Not certain how to do that??
BT, the N1 I adore.. you'll miss the vibrant screen, but that phone is sex in your hands.

I've just been renaming the .apk to .zip then unzipping them. Seems to work fine here!

Can't believe I didn't try this.

If you install the apk, long press on homescreen, then wallpaper it shows option for cm7 now. that's what I wanted. Thanks again
P.s.
To extract a apk on your phone just use root explorer

Like I said, I had the files for you on my pc.

OFFTOPIC but what build are we on? The changelog says RC0. I hope that's a typo.

New XOOM Boot Animation!!! Help needed to get it running

Hey guys,
I am posting this link to this sweet boot animation that usmc7356 created. The problem is that he is not able to get it running on the XOOM. Any help is appreciated. Here is the link the XOOM forums:
"My First XOOM Boot Animation"
name it bootanimation.zip and place it in the system/media folder. should run fine
edit: no luck. after extracting the zip, i noticed another the first file is named bootanimation as well. extracted those contents and rezipped them/named it bootanimation.zip. therefore once you open the bootanimation, it goes straight into the desc and the part0 folder. still no luck. ill dig around and see whats going on. no promises as i am no good at coding but we'll figure it out. stock boot ani sucks lol.
brain fart and i deleted the old boot ani. can someone post this please? thanks!

No dice pimp. I even tried just replacing pngs. Your desc file is right on far as I can tell. Idk man, may be the file size. I compressed the images as much as I could w/o shrinking the img size, including the zip itself. No dice there either.

Brain fart number two. We do not have a custom kernel that allows for custom boot animations yet lol.

This won't even work w/ the OC kernel. The person who made this has the OC kernel and it is not working on his either. It is weird as the bootanimation file is exactly the same as his. The file google put on there is nothing special.

@bigrushdog. The person who made this also found a file in system/bin that is a bootanimation shell file. I opened it and it is all a garbelled mess. I wonder if this might be what is controlling the boot animation file. Since I don't have root access I couldn't open it in text editor but that probably wouldn't have made a difference anyway.
guys, custom boot animation works just fine. all you had to do was change the root of zip from /bootanimation to /part0 and desc. the content should be in root, not in another folder. Posting link in a sec.
Here ya go, courtesy of bishop72
btw, this bootanimation is wicked!
Awesome!!! Now how do we install this
I just dragged and dropped it into the system/media folder . It does work (renamed old one).
i popped the bad boy into Data/local with root explorer and it works just fine

That looks awesome! But does it always take over 30 s to boot??? I haven't played with my Xoom a lot yet so I can't remember
Looks great, but I have a suggestion.
Make the data to the right load slower, and once it gets to the Invidia logo, let it sit (maybe with a "Starting Android" notification flashing somewhere) until the XOOM fully boots. It looks odd as a loop.
Otherwise, it's really well done.
It's only 512 x 256 pixels, very fuzzy. Am I missing something?
very nice man. hmmmm. can the xoom play sound during but up??

[MOD/TOOL] PushBoot for the Evo 3D. V1.0 (8/1/11)

Well, with the Evo 3D comes root, and with root comes S-Off, and with that comes custom roms and themes. So here is pushboot for the Evo 3d.
What it does: easily changes your boot animation and powerdown animation through windows.
Remember to start you need:
-HTC Drivers installed
-A working bootanimation.zip and/or power down animation
-Your phone plugged in to the usb port (lol)
-Only ONE .zip in each folder (clearly labeled.)
Other than that, I included everything needed to make this work.
Any issues let me know and I can try to help you out!
And leave feedback and if you like this, press the thanks button on this post =D
As things change, I will update the best I can.
8/1/11 updateV1.0 released
added option to send to /data/local
added option to send to /system/media
added some other small changes inside the .bat
Nice job. Will be trying it soon
All out of thanks today, as soon as I get some back you will be getting a nice cool crisp one!

Doesnt matter what its called with pushboot. you can put it in the folder and call the zip makeitfail.zip and it will work.
Pushboot changed the zip's name to what it needs to be.
Not all bootanimations are put together right, and that will result in a black screen.
Thank you for this...... it will be a time saver.

I did this because I like to have it open when flashing roms. Really easy to send to recovery, and as soon as the new rom is flashed change your boot animation right away. I originally made it for myself to make things go faster =P

I'd agree about finding a new upload site, though. Mediafire loads up your computer with adware.

These look cool. I just dont get why they designed the contact photo to be so small. It looks odd to me. The backgrounds help make it better though.

How to port htc apps and launcher to stock android ROM?

so basically i'm running a complete senseless ROM which i love but i miss a few things from sense that i would like to add to my rom, the dock on sense launcher, the widgets and the camera app...all i need to know is there any guide on how port these apps or titanium would work on an app like camera (what i really want) sorry if it was pointless thread guys, i've done a few searches with no result!

As he said, just install what you want, no need to port anything, all working roms here are stock based.
Though the weather widget might be some work since it depends on the sense launcher.

In your /system/app folder for all stock roms there is the ROSIE.apk(that is the launcher), and a ton of APKS with the word widget in them.. they are for the stock launcher. Put them in the /system/app folder on your senseless rom and they are back. Mind you, the widgets only work with rosie. As for the camera, if they just replaced it with the one from the sensation or one-x camera.apk you can go into the themes and apps section and find one titled HQ camera, flash it and it will put the stock one back(and it will add HQ mod for much higher picture quality).
You need to reboot after adding files back to the /system/app folder by the way.
alirght i will give it a try now! thank you! what i did before is unzip the rom, transfer the apks and zip it back and flash...gave me operation aborted! it was only the phone apk and camera, thats basically what i want the most.

If you unzipped it then you'll need to sign the zip file or simply replace the files using winrar or some other client without unzipping the file.

I could be wrong, I'd you are using cm9 or 10 and ring to install an apk made for sense it won't work because of framework . That's how it was with other phones.
Things might have changed but I haven't heard about it.

What this guy said, it's a framework issue, the framework files have been highly modified, most likely he resigned all the system apps after modifying them, you can decompile and recompile the phone apk, resigning it to see if that solves it. Most likely having to resign all system apps.

Change lock screen unlock icon

I'm trying to change the unlock icon to something a little more jellybean looking. It just seems funny having those nice icons next to a plain white symbol. I'm having trouble recompiling the framework-res.apk. I'll try again tomorrow after work to get a flashable zip posted
For anyone who wants to attempt this them self the icon PNG file is located at
System>framework>framework-res.apk>res>drawable-sw600dp-xhdpi>unlock_default.png
Here's the rough icon I made as well at 244x244 pixels, the same as the original. Not great but its a start

While you are waiting for the tutorial you will need to root your phone and install Root Explorer or another file manager so you can place the files and change permissions of files.
Sorry ive been busy the last few days and tonight I moved my work over to my Linux box and had to reinstall the SDK, adb and apktool all over again. I was getting boot loops when trying to do it without the proper tools plus I need em to make flash able zips. I might have something up tonight as I'm busy with work tomorrow and then borderlands 2 gets released at midnight so I won't be getting any sleep.

Use vrthemer to flash these mods. The scripts automatically update the apk with your images. Use one of the lockmods I made in the 4.2.2 lock mod thread to see how the folder structure is set. Its easy as pie
