M1 case and Magnet Issues
I had to surgically remove the rare earth magnets in the top of the case because they were wigging out the touch screen. Capacitive screens are affected by magnets. I was all set to return my Gtab to Tigerdirect after calling Viewsonic's 866 number. Then I took it out of the M1 case and magically the touch screen started acting normally. After removing the magnets and regluing the Case back together it works much better. I reported this to Itsteve and he did not seem to to offer any solution, just said nice Mod. I wish I had sprung for the clip case everyone seems so entralled with, but it was out of stock when I ordered the M1. The case works fine without the magnets now though.
Running G tab with Stock 3588 Rom Rooted and Hacked with Working Market thanks to other posts out here on XDA. I would like to them but I can't do that yet.

Thanks for the info on the M1 case and magnet problem...was going to try to grab one of those if they came in stock today...will try another case....

Interesting. My M1 is due to arrive today, I'll report whether or not I experience the same issue. I don't do leather, so it was really my only choice, so I'm hoping I don't have the same problem.

anyone that misses out, I have one to sell in like-new condition.
Asking $30 shipped priority mail within US. PM if interested.

I have the case/keyboard with the magnets and have not had any problems but i do fold it back so it isn't near the screen.

What was your screen doing? I'm not noticing anything weird after playing with it for a bit.

you know I'm sure that the guy who makes those is a great guy but I cant see much in his pix at all.
one thing that seems to be throwing me off is his descriptions describe some of them as "folios" which to ME would indcate something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004T6A484
where you have some slots for business cards etc.
anyone know if his has those?
I have that one coming to me this week, so ill let you know if I like it.
Right now I'm using a vinyl zippered bible cover with velcro on the back. Tablet is secure and protected (its got some padding) plus I can carry a bunch of USB keys and all my cards.
I'm just looking for something a little slimmer.

I'll post some pics of mine in the M1 here in a bit. It is actually a nice case, but I do see what he means about the fake leather harness that holds the gTab feeling a little cheap. I don't think it will tear with normal use, but if you're rough with it, it just might. I wish it was more flush with the body of the tab, but it's tolerable.
I'm just happy to have a folio-type case for this sucker, and it's great to have it propped up. There are not slots for business cards, but I consider it a folio because it folds open and allows you to use the gTab while it's still secured in the case.

Ok, here are some photos. Taken with my Evo, so it's not the best quality, but should give you an idea of how it looks. One thing I have noticed is that the little flap that holds the stand in place will remain a little stuck out after you fold the case shut. I laid the tab with flap side down, and it seems to settle back into place after having some weight on it.

That is, in my opinion, the best silicon case for the wizard!

I paid about 30$ for it, and it came with a nice wrist strap. For me it's ideal because I can work with the wizard's keyboard perfectly, the protection is good for the device and excellent for the screen. Sadly the only color I could pick was white.. The only problem is that apparently I've got a defected one, because the back part won't stick to the device (the front sticks as it should, so I believe that after replacing the back part it will also work. I use a double-sided duct tape in the mean while)

Always makes me wonder, what keeps the case on, on both sides? There just doesn't seems to have places to grip on.
It's semi-rigidized, so the frame around the device is made of plastic and coated with silicon. The frame has small clasps that keep the case on the device. Actually one was broken so I'm holding it with the duct tape and going to replace it today. These are the clasps:
They look flimsy but they're OK.
Cool...
Hey...Where did you find that? I have been looking for a case like that everywhere...ok, obviously not everywhere or I would have found it...all I have been able to find were cases for the cingular 8125...could you post the link please? thanks...oh one more thing, does it come off pretty easily?
I read somewhere awhile back that somebody had dyed their clear silicone cover
They used some dye that can be found at most stores(Walmart, Target, etc.)
I dont think it was food dye...maybe something along the lines of clothing dye.
Anyway, they put this tablet of dye in warm water, then placed the silicone cover inside and then left it in there for several hours.
It came out looking great....I think the guy had done some using black, blue, and red.
I Found It...
Thanks to Aviv for a little help in the right direction...
http://pdaden.com/shop/cart.php?target=product&action=view&product_id=18120&substring=wizard
just search for wizard and scroll down to the bottom of the screen.
My long search is over...it's only $24 with international shipping...Thank you so much Aviv
The front part is held tight, but the rear doesn't, at least mine. With the duct tape it's OK.
Well good idea for a silicon case, but looks forced. Also I prefer the PD'air aluminium cover, really protects the phone. Have dropped it several times by mistake and (phew) phone still works.
I have the aluminum case also, it is kinda bulky. But aside from that I think that it feels odd using it. Having to open it just to use the touch screen, not to mention the keyboard, is a little much for me. I have dropped mine plenty of times with out any case and it still works fine (scares the daylights out of me when it happens though).
Aluminum cases are bulky and heavy. With this silicon case I can work with the wizard without giving up protection, it's always inside. Furthermore, the silicon case is nice to hold, even better then a naked wizard. It won't slip and it's soft to touch.
hmm whats those yellow things on ur keyboard
Hebrew letters.
Anyone tried this with the Cingular 8125 version. It's more rectangular. Kinda of uglier... I just shipped the back case and I think I'd rather get a silicon case but I want one that's made for the cingular version.
This is the closest that I have seen...only problem is that it doesn't allow the keyboard to slide open. The 8125 seems to have the most options as far as silicon cases though so you might check around.

Did anyone else get this case yet?
It pretty good but I'd like to get some more opinions before buying it.
It's on order. I'll give you my feedback when it arrives.

ooohhh...that looks tempting...
i have that in clear and smoke... both are nice... only problem is sometimes junk in my pocket gets stuck under the case... but you can pop it off real quick and clean it...
nice looking!
Dammit. I wish I had one of those before I dropped my phone so many times
Those look nice but...
Do they afford any protection. I have been thinking about one of those Innopocket Metal case, but those cases look a lot nicer. Anybody have any saves with those cases???

Here is a black rubberized verision.
If anyone has tried these, please review.
Thanks.
i bought the one listed above. it's okay, still is a bit bulky.. fitment is descent.. feels a little lose. i might just buy a new oem faceplate instead
you mean the rubberized one? does it fall off? does it provide protection?
the oem faceplate seems like just a replacement for the original housing?
what would be the point? to save the original for resale?

Please give a review I am considering this one too.
WOW...It will be very nice to be a bier for my dead herald.
Black, rubberized version, came same week, 10 bucks shipped, best case I ever seen snaps right on, skin close, thin, looks awsome, as if it was part of the design, NO TMOBILE LOGO!!!, no interfereance with opening the keyboard and a small difference with access to side buttons like camera, etc,. still comfortable, and in my opinion good for preventing accidental pressing...
Just too bad the invisible shield didn't come on time for my relative to bring it here... Then I would feel all around protected with the best there is.
Upgrade to Touch Flow 2.3 (Thanks to Itje!) bricked twice, stuck on Tmobile screen. Reason was expected since Vista is known to brick. The link to Modaco didn't have any possitive effect. Successful upgrade from my XP machine, first try.
The only issue now is that sometimes it is found to be turned off when I don't remember turning it off, usually when I take it out of my pocket.
And when I try to set up Windows Live Mail it just goes to home screen, which sucks since I want Live Mail on it. Any suggestions are appreciated.
I overclocked to 247 and Skype mobile works great. Just took a while to find the 2.2 Low CPU version... http://www.skype.com/download/skype/mobile/21beta.html It says needs 400 mhz, but worked fine without overclock...
Was surprised that Battery Status program was in the WIndows folder and no shortcuts... How are shortcuts made anyway?
In general very happy with the machine!
Any suggestions appreciated...
case for wing
why dont you guys just buy the original housing on ebay?

because i want some additional protection... in the hope that in case of an impact the additional casing will absorb some of the shock....

Avoid the metal cases. Had one for a few months for my Wing, signal strength is knocked down (with associated drop in battery life since the cell radio has to work harder, 25% reduction in battery life for me!), Bluetooth range drops to only about 5 feet before static creeps in, etc.
The protection is good with the metal cases, but you pay a high price in performance for the protection.
Black rubberized case in Tmobile holster?
Those of you who got the Black Rubberized Case, is the case thick enough to protect the protruding Green/Red call buttons from being pressed when they're in the OEM Tmobile holster? Pictures on ebay don't show the sideways view, so I can't tell how thick they are. thanks

Elsse Premium Synthetic Leather Case

So my hunt for case started a day after i bought the tablet. i found this one at amazon for 15.99. i was skeptical but being a college student. don't really have an option money wise. So i ordered it. Got it today and i love it. it looks like a book which i love. feels durable. and best of all i can detach the flap and still have it in case. it has cut out for all the ports speakers buttons cameras and so on. for 15 bucks it is not bad at all. has three positions to be placed. i rubber band thingy to hold the flap when closed. and the flap the puts the tablet in its case has Velcro so it wont fall out.
you can but it here

Looks pretty decent.. hows the rear camera cutout? Does the TF fit snugly or is it kind of loose? And are there cutouts for all buttons/ports?
I think that I have just found the same case at ebay:
I cannot post links...
just search "asus transformer case"
it looks like you might be able to undo the velcro and stil use the keyboard dock with it. Do you know if you can or not?
Yes I would like to know if how we can use the dock with this?
i dont have a keyboard dock guys sorry. but yes im can undo the velcro and you would be able to plug it in.
I have this case i purchased off of ebay...Its good, not perfect, but good. I don't have pics as I am at work, but you can look at his and see what I am talking about.
The button idea is great. The one thing that this case has that the other do not is the ability to rotate and prop up in portrait or landscape. Th downfall to this is that the button, while holding the tf in place, pulls against the case some, so it stretches a bit around the button. I also worry some about the long term affects of a button pressing into the back of the transformer...I've had it for a few weeks though, and it seems fine.
It fits well, with all ports available. Because it can rotate, you can charge it with the case closed. The option to remove it is even better, because then you can read and such without having the whole case on it.
The case doesn't really cover the edges well without the extra cover. Alot of the edge is exposed. However, I could see a plus side to the way this case is designed. I don't have a dock, but I feel that if you unbuttoned it, and undid the velcro at the bottom, you would be able to dock the tf with no problem. Someone else would have to verify this...I think you could even leave it in the portfolio part, just slide that under the dock. All ports are available, and there is a cutout from the inner case that lines up well.
It props up well, haven't had an issue with that, in portrait or landscape. I use it all the time, and its a great help.
So, for whats out there now, this is the only rotating case I have found. Its a good idea, and works good. The case is pretty solid, as in stiff, but not extremely thick, so that has its pluses and minuses. Overall I would give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

I would like to buy it, but there are too many cheap transformer cases on ebay...

Sena Ultraslim (white/white) mini review, pics

I've had my ultraslim for about 5 days now and had a pm from a member here regarding it, so figured I'd post a few pics and a mini review. First off, good customer service. About a week and a half went by after I ordered and I had not received my case yet (I'm in PA, they're in CA i believe). I called up and the rep said it appeared it might've gotten lost by usps due to the tracking not being updated. No questions asked he sent me another via Fedex priority and I had it two days later.
Pics and then a bit more info:

First, I definitely like this case. With the size of the note, I was way too hesitant to drop good money on something that would make it any bigger. I've never used a pouch for a phone before but I'm liking this. White on white looks great too, to me. Have had some compliments on it already.
Fit: I received my case literally as I was going out the door to go to the gym. As I immediately noticed that my phone kept rebooting every time I put the phone in the case, and when it was on, the volume kept changing. I realized the inner seams were pressing up against the buttons. I was very upset at first, and then realized I just had to put it in a bit crooked so the seams run along the edge of the buttons rather than on them, not a big deal. Took about a few days for my case to start breaking in and now the note fits snugly but easily pulls in and out of the case. Also note that the case has kind of formed to the 'crooked' way that I put the note in. It's not like I need to make sure I'm avoiding the seams when I put the phone in, it just slides in exactly how I want it to now.
I rock my note upside down in the case, since I have BLN on. All I have to do is lift up the top flap a bit and I can see if I have notifications.
Protection: Obviously it'll keep away scratches. Drop protection... it really is thin. However, I'd be fairly confident that on a regular drop, the case would save it. It's basically just a thin layer of leather, but I think it's enough to absorb the shock. It's like the difference between the metal cased iphones and plastic phones... just a little bit makes a difference. That said, I'm not going to test it. But it really does add essentially no noticeable bulk or weight, and gives you a better grip when removing it from your pocket.
Feel free to ask any questions.
Very classy looking, thanks for the share.
nice pocket. where did you buy it?
bought it direct from them through their website.

$35. And I don't quite understand your question... See you asking if your phone with case attached will fit in the pouch? No.. It's designed to perfectly fit the phone. Then again I don't know how thick your case is but I highly doubt it and aren't sure why you'd use both

My TF201 Folio solution

HI Everyone,
I had posted over on another thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32625553#post32625553) that I was looking for a case for my TF201 that would allow me to continue using a notepad, I find in meetings etc that nothing beats trusty paper and pen, but it would also be handy to be able to view calendars, emails and calculators etc. Over the years I find that keeping a paper diary and an electronic one just leads to confusion. This post is going to show off my final result that I think has turned out rather well:

There are a number of cases on the net, mostly just variations of the same theme, but I knew I would need one that was bigger than just the tablet itself, there aren't many that suit the dock, but that was what I was after. My real goal was to end up with something like the Booqpads that are only made for iPads
The dimensions of the TF201 are too big to fit into the above. So I got my hands onto the Sikai case in the above linked thread that housed both the tablet and the dock. So now I had to replace the dock with something to write on. Thankfully, the dimensions of the TF201 and Dock are almost exactly the same as B5 notebooks and writing pads. However finding B5 sized books in Australia is nearly impossible, I ended up ordering some off Amazon along with some other items to make up this folio case.
In the end, it is the MoKo Flip Stand Cover Case for the TF300 thats worked for me:
I also got these Grifiti silicone bands to strap down the notebook:
I think I'm going to be using the folio case upside down, that is with the tablet on the left and notebook on the right, simply because i'm right handed, but by being able to just flip the notebook around, the Moko case has worked out well, here are the photos:
This is showing the folio case flat as I'm likely to be using it, the silicone bands might look lumpy, but they dont make the whole thing wobble, in fact they actually provide a whole heap of grip and stop the case form sliding around on a desk
Here's how it looks all closed up, I compared it to my existing diary/notebook folio and the dimensions are almost identical.
This is the bottom, note that the TF201 can be charged up with the whole folio kept closed
This is the "top", thankfully the Moko case comes with a stylus loop.
Here's how the silicone bands look "under" the folio,Grifiti supply them in various colours, I happen to have two black ones which worked out nicely
Here's the "normal" way the case would be used (if there is such a thing)
This is how I intend to be using it.
Flipped open ready to use the paper method of note taking
How the bands hold the notebook steady. I could also use this to slide in other papers and other items I guess.
And the last one showing how the tablet can be used too.
All up I'm quite happy with this, the Moko case is great, and all the buttons, the SD card slot, the sepaker, the camera and sensors all function as normal, and the ability to charge without removing the tablet or the notebook is a real positive. The notebook is 156pages which is probably going to last a few months at least.
The only drawbacks that come to mind are:
a) can't use the keyboard dock with this setup, but that was never my goal
b) can't use the case to "stand up" the TF201, but again not my goal, as I'm not one to show off video clips in meetings..
What makes this case tf300 only? But you have a tf201 in it. What doesn't line up?

It is advertised as being a case for the TF300 - but yes it fits the TF201 nicely. Everything lines up.
That just seams a little odd.. Says 3 or so times that's it's not for the tf201.. But they are missing a market there, as it looks like a good case.. With or without notepad!
Ok one minor difference. The headphone slot is covered. This isn't a major problem for me.
