guidance to cooking and suggested kitchen

Im a little new to this site, and it is so huge, but i just stumbled onto this section. I think it is a fantastic section. Specific to cdma touch pros. Very cool. I feel like ive tapped the possibilities of my phone and im bored. Other than all the new 6.5 roms out, there are really no exciting things happening. Im thinkin of startin to make my own rom. Havent a clue what im doin. I know I need to download a kitchen, and a base rom. Is there a thread that explains how to make a rom and does anybody suggest a perticular kitchen? Ive searched but everything brings up kitchens. and theres a lot. Any help is much appreciated.

I opened this thread specially fore new users; it will treat a lot of questions that new users usually have.
But if it can be useful;
Install also CHT (Cookie Home Tab) and CHTEditor (Cookie Home Tab Editor)
Page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=625483
And PS; themes can be found on the theme thread.

The best advice I can give you is to go into the themes and apps section and read read read......
There are mods out there for anything you could possibly want to do to your phone.....
Unfortuneately for the new user it may seem a bit daunting at first however through searching the forums and asking (if you cant find your answer anywhere) you should be fine......
If you havent already got it I think the first thing you should do is install CHT (Cookies Home Tab)..... It completely opens up the way in which you can modify the sense interface......
That should keep you busy for the rest of the night anyway......
Hope that helps.........
Lol I see Kurt beat me to it.........

question does anyone know how to cook roms for vibrant? gotta kitchen tool?

ok its just as the thread states...
i want to cook roms and have a port of htc sense for my phone. still i have recently learned how to modify apk's to my liking but i want to cook my own roms and share as i finish any good work. i have tried using the kitchen from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633246 but i am still unsure if this is what i need. i have read that it is also not as good as it should be because it is only built for htc phones. i am looking for as much info as possible so any and all links shared are appreciated. i am also available via pm and screen name at gmail.com! thanks to you all and i hope this message was read in the best of your health. happy holidays and posting!
wow! i got my own thread from google thinking it was something i missed

[Q] Bootmanager S II

Hi I was wondering if there is a Bootmanager like that on HTC fot the S II?
I like to play with different roms and now i have to switch with Recovery.
We dont have any bootmanager yet, there is a "concept" from someone here on the forum but atm is kinda complicated and needs a lot of work as i read.
OK thanks for the info, hope it will come quick

[Q] Porting theme from one ROM to another

Hi, I wanted to use my currently theme on sensation rom on another rom, How can I do that? Is that possible? I know that we can change anything on theme via these three files, framework-res.apk, SystemUI.apk and twframework-res.apk and I know that it may not compatible on other rom, But How can I do that?
Thanks in advance.

i am trying to do the same thing.. but still not successful. OMG this thread is 7 months old & not a single reply from any of the devs.
Right. And the devs do nothing but sit around staring at their screens all day until people post questions in Q&A, and the moment that happens they answer said questions within 5 minutes of them being posted.
Tell me...what is 'dev' an abbreviation of ? I'll give you a clue. It's developer. And developers develop. They make stuff. Stuff they're interested in working on. They don't actually sit around all day waiting for questions to get posted in Q&A (I lied), and the chances of a dev reading a 7 mth old thread with some request from someone who wanted a theme from one rom ported to another rom is 1 in 456^901234 (that's a really remote chance in case you can't work it out).
So...I have some advice for you. Port it yourself. Theming is basic compared to coding. There are tutorials around XDA and elsewhere, and funnily enough, the Themes section has a famous basic tutorial. If you can handle/get through this, you might just be able to port this.
If you can't, you're out of luck.
