Hello,
I've tried a few different screenshot apps but they all appear to come out completely wrong. Some are the wrong colour, but the biggest issue is that they never come out in the correct orientation!!
If I take a screenshot in landscape mode, it comes out 90° clockwise to the screen, if I take one in portrait, it comes out 180°... totally upside down. Even if I rotate it, when I upload the image somewhere it shows in the wrong orientation.
Its happened on 315 and does it now on 318..

theres a thread somewhere in xda that said apparently the lcd was mounted upside down in the streak, thats why the images come out weird, happens to all screenshot apps
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=891146
No way!! So, is there a fix for this?
As I said, even when I rotate the images, when I upload them they appear upside down again...

However you rotate the images make sure that when you save the image that the exif orientation information is being saved. Some programs/apps don't save the orientation unless a setting is set properly. How to do this can vary from program to program.
Ok, I will look into it. Thanks.

I've found that screenshot it appears to have a tick box to rotate images 180 deg. This could be useful, but the dev has to work on a red tint issue that appears to consume every screenshot I make..

To get rid of the red tint. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1008494

The suggestion is to use two apps which show the image as upside down when the screenshot is taken, which is exactly why I went with screenshot it. I can wait on the dev to fix the tint and will then have an awesome app.

I can rotate the image easier than I can fix the color shift.
Knowing the dev is working on a fix for the red tint, I have the patience to wait for a fully working app.

I've recently been testing Screenshot it on the Streak for the dev, and can now confirm it takes screenshots in the correct orientation and without the red tint!
I guess this is the first fully working app, so anyone who wants a great screenshot app should find it in the market immediately!

Screenshot by gik soft has always worked fine on the streak.
but it's always nice having an alternative for whatever reason
No it doesn't, the image comes out upside down.
Screenshot it is the only one I've found that corrects the orientation.

dont think i would pay $4 just because the image is auto rotated in portrait when gallery has it itself.
I found that even after rotating in the gallery, when I upload to buzz/facebook etc, the image is still upside down.

Just updated to 1.991 and the orientation works but my screeshots have a bluish tint. When i select the option to invert the colors, the screenshots have the heavy red tint. I am on retail 351.

Same here on 318. It is sooooo hit and miss with the streak and screenshot apps.

I'm currently on 318 without any tint.
Would you be able to contact the dev via app market?
He's waiting on feedback.

I'm using 351 and it fails on both normal and inverted colours.

Yes I get red screenshots
Sent from the Dell Streak powered by 1.9.0
Awfully strange that it works for me but fails for others :-/
The dev is waiting on feedback though. Tap him up as he's wanting to get it working for us.

yeah screenshot it works...you just need to clarify to change orientation in the settings but id rather just edit them myself then pay 4 bucks for it...
Personal preference I guess. Even when I rotated the images, they would still show up upside down when I uploaded them. At least this works properly for me.

I've got version 2.0 & for the first time
taking a screenshot works to the full.
Of course, one still has to tick the box
"flip picture", not to get it upside down.
I tried every version of every screenshot
app so far, & this is the very first to work.
The app "screenshot" mentioned above, was
never able to present the picture other than
upside down, although the colors were correct.
Screenshot It, on the other hand, was able to
flip the picture, but never with correct colors.
I still used the "Screenshot" app until now, since
it was simple to get the picture flipped anyway.
You just took a shot, & then another shot of the
shot - voila! Picture not upside down anymore.
Now I don't need to perform those acrobatics anylonger...
Haha! I never thought about taking a shot of a screenshot...
Glad you have a better solution now

Try taking a screen shot of your pull down top bar and sending to an iphone.. LMAO
Turn all the lights off, make sure the room is very dark.
Turn on auto brightness in settings.
Turn on auto screen power adjustment.
Click the following link and make the imagine full screen.
Look specifically for black horizontal lines going down the screen. I have one, my best friend has one in a different spot, my girlfriend has none. All bought from the same store.

Ok now listen very carefully. In order to see this picture you need to have your brightness all the way UP.
You have to do the exact opposite that you have to do when trying to find the defect on your own screen.
This is a picture of my screen taken in total darkness with a damn playskool camera:

It doesn't make the same line looking at an image that isn't that, so.. I dunno.

Interesting... I have a solid darker line going from top to bottom slightly to the left from the center. I also see some spots around the screen that I thought at first might have been fingerprints as they're a little more blurred than the rest.
Never noticed anything until I viewed this image.

I don't know if I'm doing this right. I don't really see "lines", just two boxes at the bottom that I can move left and right. Then the whole middle of the screen isn't as "dark" as the top 25%.

You need to take one of the attached grey images and open it full screen on your phone so that nothing else is showing on the screen. Then follow the rest of the instructions to check for defects.

Ya I have one too that's slightly left, same as was described already in this thread. When did you get yours? I got mine the first day, if you got yours on the same day then both screens were probably in the same batch and all have this defect. It isn't visible outside of a gray picture in complete darkness, and doesn't effect the screen otherwise, so I'm pretty sure that the screen passed QA testing wihtout anyone noticing.
everyone ive showed this to has a line from top to bottom slightly to the left....you sure its not just in the wallpaper....because ive looked at similar dark grey wallpapers with the same settings on in dark light and none of thoes have ever showed a line
mine doesnt have any !

Yes I'm sure its not the wallpaper. I can tell because when I turn the phone sideways the picture rotates but the line doesn't.
For a while now, my gallery hasnt been working. I am using the stock 2.3.4 gallery.
When i open the gallery, all my pictures show up, but when i try to view one of them, a blurred version of the picture shows up with a loading symbol, but the picture never loads.
I dont know what to do and even after several reboots it hasnt been working.
Can someone tell me what is going on and how to fix it?
I'm not sure what it is but since I found quickpic in the market I never looked back. Much faster, full of options. Give it a try!

Hm.. It's not that it goes to the last viewed folder or something? Try pressing the back button.
Or check the hidden folder option in settings.

You may need to go into the QuickPic settings and add the folder where the existing pictures were saved.
I'm not sure what the problem is because the picture thumbnails right showing up but when I try to view them, there is just a loading symbol but it never loads. Honestly this is getting very annoying, now that I haven't been able to view the pics for over a week now.

I seem to have fixed it for now but this has happened before and usually the same problem keeps coming back.
Also, could someone tell me if there is supposed to be a .nomedia file in DCIM> Camera?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Every time I share a picture via twitter, g+, Facebook, or mms, or even upload it to a message board, the orientation defaults to landscape regardless if its taken in portrait mode. This is pretty annoying. It also happens when I try to edit my avatar using the xda app.
How can I fix this so that a picture is uploaded in the orientation that the picture is taken in?

I've noticed this too (at&t Samsung Note i717). My workaround is to crop it to just about full size. Its a pain in the neck though.

I would love to attach a screenie.....but it happens so randomly and only lasts a second.
Im presuming that the function is built in because the screen doesnt look all messed up. So does anyone know how to turn Landscape lockscreen on?
Ove looked through the setting but cant see anything? Perhaps im just being a tard?

Android at its core can support a landscape lockscreen. There are a few apps out there that force rotation even when the app doesn't think it should support it. For example, the Netflix app is ALWAYS portrait when in the menu and ALWAYS landscape during video playback, but I used to use an app called "Ultimate Rotation Control", and it allowed it to do the menu in landscape and the video in portrait. I think the same sort of thing would work for you here, but I must admit that it's been a long time since I've used a lockscreen, so I don't know for sure.
Thanks. Ill take a look.
