I made various purchases with different “main gmail accounts", but always used the same Google checkout.
Now depending on what email I set as first after a new Tom install I can either download a part of what was purchased with that gmail as default or reset and use the other default for the other apps, impossible though to access all purchased, attempts restoring backed up apps result in copyright protection prompts.
Any idea how to solve that?

After reading true the Google FAQ I found the answer, anything else than satisfying though...:
- According to Google each purchase is associated with your main account - main account as per definition is the one that you've added first after installing a rom, regardless if your checkout account is associated with another gmail account. They state clearly that if one changes email, he has to buy the stuff again.
Usually not the approach that google takes, and without ending in a collective bash, I still gotta admit that this is quite a primitive way of handling customer relation - at least in my opinion.
[Edit:] I made an experiment with apprain.com, hoping they would be the solution for future purchases, but unfortunately the market app is the dominating part in the triangle between user - apprain - market syncing[/Edit:]
I was thinking about buying an Android smartphone since I have a >4yr old Nokia, but I would like to use a Phone without a 3rd party account that syncs with Apple/Google whatever and send everything I do on my cellphone to them. I would like to think as "like a Linux machine, but with a SIM card".
Meego is dead, iPhone I can't install what I want, so I'm stuck with Android. I've read somewhere that when installing CyanogenMod, it doesn't ask for a Google Account. Is it true? Can I use it without associating it with Google? (I know I won't have access to Marketplace, but I can live with that). I'll use the smartphone mainly for webbased mail, dont need facebook/twitter/gmail/maps, and will sync all contacts locally.
Even if I don't associate my phone with google, is it going to send "data for better experience" like app usage, gps location and such using an unique identifier from my cell phone to google?
(I tried to search 'cyanogen "google account" on search, but couldn't find an answer. Sorry if this is a duplicate :/)
Technically, you wouldn't need to asscoiate any rom with Google as long as you don't enter a gmail address. Also, some roms don't come with gapps, allowing you to utilize the phone without any Google apps installed. Cyanogenmod is one of those roms. I suggest checking out the developer page for the various phones you're considering and seeing the type of roms they offer.

First of all i did not found an apropiate sub forum to start my thread, so really sorry if this is a wrong forum. I owned galaxy nexus so I thought this would be a good sub forum
Now let's come to the main issue.
Recently an anti islamic movie was upload to Youtube. Which creates alot of tension in the 3rd world.... Pakistan's government block the website across the Pakistan to protest against the video. And YouTube will remained close till the removal of that video (which ain't gonna happen like this).
As you all know that Pakistan is one of the most corrupt countries in the world. Pakistan telecommunication authority hire inexperienced IT experts due to political pressures. These incompetent employees and government could not manage to block the YouTube properly at first. So PTA immediately block the IP of YouTube. But in doing of such impotent work by our ****ty government more then half of Google services become unusable in Pakistan. We can't connect to gmail account on our android and not even play store.
We can not download apps from the app store because of such failed action of our government.
As you know that YouTube is owned by Google. Yoiube IP is same as most of the Google's ip's.
PTA have blocked the IP so many Google services had stop.
In light of above explanation I need a work around on how open my gmail account and play store. Any help would be highly appreciated.
I know through proxy I can unblock the websites. But I,m unable to sync my gmail account through proxies because of the Google's high security. And I still can not download apps via market through proxy.
Give me a good suggestion. Any work around, any good proxy please.
Any modified Google play store.
I have galaxy nexus, galaxy note HTC desire and Asus transformer. All of them could not connect to Google services due to this blockage. And I know this problem had spread across whole of the android users in pakistan.
Refrain from political discussion or abusing thanks.
Google "droidvpn" download the app and install it. Get registered on its official website to get a username and passwork. Then install the app on your device, enter the username and password. After the app connects, u'll be able to access Google Play.
PS: Your Device Must Be Rooted!
Hit Thanx If It Helps!!!!!!!

Whats up guys?
I have two Google accounts that I use on my tablet. A primary one that I use for Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, etc.... and another one that I use for the sole purpose of purchasing apps. This happened due to limitations in my country so I made this other account with US data so I can buy apps with it.
This other account doesn't have any noteworthy data about me. I don't sync anything to it except apps.
So my question is. Can I share that account with other friends/family? so they can take advantages of some of the apps i purchased? Keep in mind that nobody can really purchase anything for themselves in my country (Egypt) and I went through hoops to get that one working and credit added to it, so I'm thinking about sharing this account with one or two people.
So can I do that? and if I did. Is there anything wrong with it? Are there any risks involved?
Thanks in advance and sorry if I posted this on the wrong forum.
According to Apple, the Apple ID can be associated with a maximum of 10 devices, I have read somewhere, that it was the same with Google. I have seen the same Google account used on 3-4 devices without any problem. If you want to share your account with 3 more people or devices, I would say go ahead. But if the number of people or devices exceeds more than that, then I would suggest to contact Google and ask them the upper usage limit of a single account on different devices.
The first thing that came to my mind, was to be careful and not syncing your data with that account (even by mistake).
Also.. make sure you trust them, I think this is obvious
Hi,
First excuse my english which is not my natural language.
I have a serious issue to resolve.
I would like to know if my daughter use a second and secret Facebook account on her smartphone (with the Facebook app). I have an access to this smartphone, I can switch it on. I know her main account, but i suspect her of using a second account to talk with a radical person, maybe a dangerous person.
Is there a simple way to know if there is a second account used on the smartphone, ans if so, its login (not the password, i don't want to see private conversations) ?
Thank you so much,
Bob
