What are average quadrant starts for the vibrant? My phone is a freak and is scoring unusually high! I'm loving it though, blazing fast!
quadrants may vary depending on the rom, file system, kernel
Oh I see, I scored above 1750.. lol..
seem normal?
im running triger and tigers blood kernel, OC'd

Correct.
"quadrant doesn't matter"
The scores might be off, by alot, but it does show you something.
It shows the normal user if voodoo is activated or not...
If you think you have voodoo and are getting less than 1900 then you know something's wrong.
Quadrant DOES show something. Quadrant is NOT useless.
so many people are using it that it does matter.

After did a present tense should follow.
I run anywhere from 800 to 2100+ from stock to overclocked just because I can gotta love the devs
agreed, the only useful thing about quadrant is that you can confirm if voodoo is working.
i would go into why quadrant has been rendered *almost* useless, but smartbench does it better
http://smartphonebenchmarks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=226
Running GCR3 with Overstock 2.2.1 with Voodoo enabled. I have hit 2133 and average about 2080.
Wouldn't voodoo control tell you whether its active or not. It'll tell you you have an ext4.
Don't blame me, blame my keyboard's autocorrection algorithm.
This doesn't have anything to do with the vibrant but I saw a mt4g overclocked to 1.7 ghz. Got a quadrant score of 3300 or something like that!

I found this link to a working kernel hidden in the "Port Captivate Froyo" thread. It allows limited Overclocking up to 1.2 GHZ. Others (including myself) have applied this via Clockwork and it is working great. I by no means take any credit for this. Just trying to put the info out there.

What governor should I use? Interactive? Do I even need SetCPU? I don't want to change anything but the max clock speed if I don't. I find that it scales itself really well. Plus I don't wanna lose a lot of battery life.

I use SetCPU. Min 200 Max 1200 Conservative. I believe Daswolven and others are using these same settings. You may have to clear cache for SetCPU if you already have it installed. jt said do not use ondemand. Performance also seems to be working fine.

I loaded this kernel last night its pretty sweet. no issues runs really smooth so far. I have left it on conservative also, overall seems alot snappier. No battery issues yet, actually bout the same.

Kudos and thumbs-up to JT1134!!!
The ONLY drawback I've seen to this kernel is a slightly accelerated battery drain. Still way better than when i was running stock with Lookout...
JT1134 and Dirrk are both working hard, and we're all gonna benefit!
Also, I've noticed that things tend to go more smoothly when SetCPU is not set to start at boot...
Haha I was one of the ones who flashed it right away too, d12183 on the irc too
I am running this with a min. 100 max. 1200 conservative, no profiles. No problems yet, and battery is actually not looking much different.
Benefit of conservative governor, steps up to use.

Any other way to boost my quadrant other than using sysctl, SetCPU and JIT enabler? My current score is 1.1k running on Cyanogen 2.2.1... never actually gotten above nexus before...

First of all, Quadrant scores don't really do anything except let you see the differences between certain roms. It has almost 0 bearing on real world performance. But, to answer your question, the aosp roms (vanilla froyo, MIUI, cyanogen mod) are the ones that are going to get you the 2000+ scores.
AOSP+OC kernel. Quadrant score is just a number, you should pay attention to how the phone feels in everyday use rather than some number that means nothing in normal use.

That's about right if you're not running aosp or miui...I am testing out aosp honeycomb theme with oc/UV kernel and phone is the fastests it's ever been. I just tested quadrant for you and I pulled a 2300+. Then again...it's only quadrant...but the phone feels quicker too.

Quadrant scores are important, and are the most accurate representation of the amount of horsepower-amperage your phone outputifies.

It's an understood growth stage. You figure out the basic concept of rooting and become obsessed with benchmarks until you realize that A) No one else cares.
B) Your 2400 score translates into 3 hours of battery life and an unstable phone.
And C) There are no applications out side of benchmarks where the difference can be seen or felt in use.
How about underclocking and undervolting while maintaining stability and use?

What's up everyone?
Just wanting to see if people have been able to overclock past 1.8 successfully. And by that I mean no lag, reboots, and runs faster then 1.2 lol. I remember with the OG Evo that 1.19 was more or less the most you could get out of the phone. I can get to 1.8 on most overclocking kernels, just wondered if anyone got higher. I personally use net's kernel, silverneedle, and I must say it's rather nice.
And no, this isn't supposed to be an overclocking vs. not overclocking type of thread (sorry trolls :]). People are going to overclock because it's fun.

Why are people continuing to use a benchmark that Cyanogen himself proved was flawed and easily faked?

You loose all blur stuff. If you ran or have used cm7 before, you'll want it again and again. It's snappy and smooth. My stock blur would fc on me but my photon w cm7 has not fc once yet.
For charge times, I was at 27% (after 3 days run time) and I got to 95% in less then an hour and a half.
This week I may flash the beta kernel for cm7 and retest but depends on work schedule. Still trying to get a good calculation of cm7 and battery run time. So far amazing!
