I want to lock some of apps and files on my phone.
Can anyone tell me if there is a great app to do that and what the name of the app is?
Thanks =)
I'm using Invisible Protector Pro. The best apps protector IMO.
Invisible Protector protect your private applications artfully
What's the best app protector? Strong password? Of course NOT. The best proector would let prier not be aware of any protection and it also can hide itself as far as possible. Invisible Protector is one such protector to protect your private apps.
When launching a protected app, it will throw a fake crash error which may mislead guest user into thinking that your app has a glitch or something. So it can stop guest from using your protected app in a natural manner.
But owner can clear it through several secret ways. It also provide a password protector with a secret input method.
*** How to launch it? ***
This is a widget version of App Locker II, it will not show any app icon in the app launcher board, so it will be hard to found by guest user.
For owner, please long press the empty area of Home screen, and select the 'Z_AL II' widget from the 'Widget' menu. Then you can click the widget icon to open the App Locker and manage your portected apps. You would better remove the icon from Home screen after you finish the management.

I've had problems in the past in getting a shortcut to the trash sometimes. Maybe i had a dirty or greasy screen. But sometimes it takes multiple tries to select a shortcut to drag it to the trash. Either the app starts, or the shortcut only gets dragged halfway across the screen towards the trash but not in the trash yet...
Sounds familiar?
I just found an easy way to dump your unwanted shortcuts in the trash.
Only prerequisite for this is Dual-Touch enabled.
- With one finger touch and hold the shortcut you want to delete,
- With another finger touch and hold the trash icon.
- First release the finger holding the shortcut and then the other finger.
Your shortcut should now be gone.
Never had any problem with my touch screen, sounds like yours may be defective. Anyhow, nice work-around man. Maybe some other defective x10 user will be grateful.
I don't have problem in removing shortcut. I have problem with maybe creating shortcut. By long press on the app in the app drawer and move to the home screen. A lot of time it run the application.

Then make the shortcut the other way around: Longpressing on the homescreen, new shortcut and browse the to app you want there.
On my mobile with A2.1 anyone can unlock the screen simply by swiping from left to right.
Is there an app to lock the screen by some password or whatever, to prevent thiefs and alike to easily access the phone?.
TIA

Hi guys is there a *secure* way to hide android apps without requiring to root?
By secure I mean that the invisible apps cannot be easily found by other users and would require password.
I know Go launcher provide hiding app function, but it is very stupid. Anyone can just click on the "hide app" button and see what is being hidden....
Sorry, but I don't think that it is possible without root.
Really? ...sad
but Thanks anyways
Other launchers hide the "show hidden" option better.
There are a couple good ways to hide apps on android, and without root too!
Launcher pro's hide apps option is buried in their preferences, not everyone will see it unless they really know what they're looking for. Another app is called smart lock. There a lite and pro version. This app can lock any apps you program to it and also give a false "force close" notification when attempting to open a locked app. A certain function will then lead you to a password pin screen to unlock it. For quick access to a hidden app you can assign swipe gestures to the icons on the dock. Where as if they're pressed normally they will open the default app. Swipe gesture to open an alternative app of your choice. Hope this helps?
I recommend Clauncher. You can use two fingers press the screen and move inwards to open a hidden app window.

I don't have a screen lock as I hate typing a PIN, etc everytime just to get to my Home Screen. Plus that way (using Widget Locker) I can actually use the home button to get to the home screen from the lockscreen AND double tap the home button from the lockscreen to get S-voice.
So I installed Smart Lock to lock my e-mail apps and Facebook app. If the phone fell into others hands, those are the apps I'd want locked so that I'd have some time to go change my passwords. I suppose I also should lock the Google Play app since it has my payment info saved so someone could go on an App buying spree.
Any other suggestions of apps I should like? I don't store any sensitive data on the phone and could are less if someone started using my phone to text (hopefully I'd have my account shutdown before they could reak havoc with texting?) All other apps require their own password such as online banking, Google Drive, etc. Anything else?
I know any "smart" hacker can easily get around it. This is just to protect against your average non-techy snoop going through my personal stuff should I leave the phone somewhere.
U can set pin lock for purchases from play store. Check in settings
Sent from my head that has a brain!

Lock the settings app. Other wise some can just uninstall the locker app and use your phone uninhibited.
Do you have a cool/unique app or game idea? Just let me know, i am always seaching for interesting new app ideas!
Please write it in the comments below!
Have a nice weekend.

What would be the use of that? D:
An app that makes it possible to run mobile webapps full screen, kind of like the way the latest chrome beta can do, but for any site.
An keepass app with synchronization built in, and on top of that an internal Web browser, so you can have actions like "copy password" and "copy username" right there. Kind of the way 7 pass does it (on Windows Phone)
Nanaca crash, a simple flash game where the object is to throw a person as far as you can, kind of like "hit crazy frog" kind of game but a hit more advanced. Requires just one button so that would be perfect for Android smartphones.

Oh that's not what I understood. I guess the idea would work if the processing was quick enough and the picture high resolution enough. But front facing cameras are none of the above.
Thanks for your current suggestions, let me see more !
no more ideas?
I have an App Request too
An On-Screen Floating Object-Oriented Toolbar, with Back, Home, Menu, & Directional keys, + additional keys depending on active screen or current app
including a 'cycle-through elements' button then hit enter on the one you want to activate
things that can be done with your thumb from one small location.
then tap & hold contracts it into a smaller set of buttons
and you can select the number of buttons & their default positions for both the expanded state and the compacted state.
so it could be used to navigate around programs, select different elements, or used as a game controller, or keypad enhancement, or enhanced navigation etc
