if you are constantly 'roaming' and all your calls and data happen when 'roaming' they can terminate your service....they wont be upset, but you will be some people do it on purpose so VZW cancels their contract

does it really matter if you have unlocked hotspot ?
well then, i guess its a good thing i get it for free
My question is will this also be applied to wifi tethering..not sprints tethering service. We all knew this was coming...when are they going to remove unlimited plans if ever?

I don't think it applies to Wifi Tether and the likes.
The article says that the people who tether "under the radar" are safe from this cap. I can only assume it's people with other tethering options...

Doubtful. I wouldn't sweat it.
But still, This f*cking iPhone is beginning to piss me off though. It's not worth all of these damn cuts/adjustments.

The iPhone ? In reality the iphone uses less data then android as of know.android users are the one using more data , I can tell you that for reports that I seen and personal usage I have an iPhone and trust me my android device uses more data almost 2 to 3 times more then iPhone does

Right, it's just it's not so much the because of the "data" that this hell is coming it's also the volume of users, the subsidizing costs etc.

That is a Verizon PRL, and while you won't incurr any additional charges from Sprint for using it, you could end up having your contract terminated.

Yep, your phone is on Verizon full time so according to your device your not roaming, however according to Sprint they see you using a different tower then they brings out the big guns and cancel you like a bad tv show, you might get by for a month or two then you will get the letter of doom.... My advice go to a different prl.....
Sent from my clean sharp shooter
I spoke with retentions today and they told me that you have to be roaming at least 80% of your bill for a couple of months to get a termination letter. I suggest just using it when u need it. If it is in your house get an airave.

I couldn't activate my phone earlier online so I had to call Sprint. Online, the system wanted to force me to change plans. Now, I am trying to activate my wife's phone and Sprint customer care is closed for the evening. I am having the same problem trying to activate her phone online.
Has anyone else experienced this and gotten around it?
I got the same thing, had to do it over webchat. took about 10 minutes.

just call sprint
they did it without me even giving them any info
I went through this twice in the past two days. After speaking with Sprint reps, they assured me that the reason was that I got my EVO 4G back when the "premium data" charge was only for WiMAX devices, and now the premium data charge applies to all smartphones. If you select the plan identical to the one you already have, nothing on your account changes.
Me said:
So I'm sure you saw my query description. I'm just curious why activating the new EVO requires changing the plan. The 450 minute plan, other than being worded differently, seems identical to the plan I currently have.

I understand that you are getting the error to change the plan while activating it online, it is only because the plan code differs, it does not mean that your plan will change.

I need help!
I want to the LG Galaxy Nexus 4, problem is I have a fully rooted (w/ s-off) EVO4GLTE. My wife has one too (unrooted), hers being the main line. Is there a way to get out of my contract with minimal to no cost?
Also,
Would I lose my # if I could...?
and
Would I lose the phone as well or would I keep it?
Any advice on how to go about pulling his off...I'm all ears!

Won't there be some outstanding obligation to pay the bill for that data? I know we have unlimited texting but when I text to Canada from the US, I get billed per text. Seems like roaming data usage would incur similar additional fees.
Oh, and as far as using the data, I'd go with a torrent downloader and pull about 10 "bluray movie size" files. down. That would probably be worth kicking you.

2. No really, don't do it.
Sprint will give you a nice fat boot for Christmas if you try to force roaming.

You would need to flash a Verizon prl and like its been mentioned, not a good idea. Sprint throttles first, send a polite warning and then terminate if you continue to roam.
I was more talking a setting I'm in PA hunting and I know Verizon gets good service here. If we're supposed to be roaming on Verizon, why do I get nothing?

Like he said, you'll need to manually install a Verizon prl to do it But in all seriousness, I wouldn't try it... Once upon a time I tried a mod to force Verizon roaming on my old HTC Hero and promptly got a letter from Sprint less than a week later. It's just not a smart thing to do.
