I was looking through the EMLlist and specifically at option 9.audio. Does someone know what the values can be changed to and which of the 21 does what? On my old samsung impression it was possible to adjust volume on the main speaker, headset, and bluetooth by changing the decible values. I know the streak is a whole different device so im not comparing only wondering. Thanks for any input

Poweramp has a preamp built into it as part of the graphic equalizer, which boosts the volume a lot the equalizer itself also has volume increasing effects, depending on the settings

I'm currently using version 6.5 of Mik_os.
Whenever I use the headset the sound of my phone seems to be amplified and the sound is too loud cracks and has constant white noise present in the media files.
Whenever I stop playing the white noise disappears after a few seconds.
It seems that the kernel seems to be boosting the media sound.
Is there a way to disable this boost?
alreasy at the lowest volume the next is mute.
Lower the volume.

My bad edited original post
Same question here. Any solutions?
Is there any way to control audio amplifier? Inc/dec sound changes nothing.
@comduk92 & A.Shaferov:
Following this thread might help you solve the problem (at least the white noise part).
All right I'm new to XDA community and hope this question hasn't already been posted under different description (which I can't seem to find). I'm an X iPhone user and had gotten accustom to the separate volume controls for the main/ringer volume and the headphone jack volume. My question/issue is, is there an app or a configuration change that I can apply to separate the two?
My ATRIX is rooted and I'm not shy with making modifications.
I don't mind having an additional volume control just would like to go from car using the Aux. to talking on the headset without blowing out my eardrums.
Thanks.
download an app like quick settings might work. don't remember as i really don't need it anymore.
Quick Settings does control some volume setting, but will not allow me to separate headphone volume from anyother control.

you can install the Cyanogen DSP Manager / Equalizer from this link. tested and working on rooted GB roms for me. http://www.mediafire.com/?6f2q2ec3h76bo1n

Thanks downloaded, tried & uninstalled!
Volume + Does a better job IMO...
Haven't tried it for the headset, however for the speaker I found Volume + to be clearer and louder.
As far as headsets, haven't given it a try but Volume + works amazingly well with my Desire HD!
Any1 else have any input on DSP vs Volume +?
Yeah I have some input. Volume + is a totally different kind of app that has nothing to do with bass, treble or graphic equalizer. Volume + sets your ring tones, notification tones, etc. DSP manager is for making your music or video sound better, not making ringtones louder..

Thanks, I need to play with it some, but it's nice to have some control over the sound.

Went back and compared both once again (this time with a headset!).
What I noticed:
As you stated above, Volume + makes everything LOUD. In my ears that's a good thing, and why I choose to apply it to my loud speakers.
As for headsets... Volume+ is less customizable in terms of eq, however it still has a very commendable range of modifiers. I went with Volume+ in the end simply because it was simply louder whilst still maintaining clarity at lower volumes.
As for Bluetooth devices... don't use so couldn't tell.
At the end of the day... Listening to audio on the Flyer isn't so great... Lots of Hiss and distortion. Voodoo is MUCH better, unfortunately its only available on the SGS.
So... I will not be using the Flyer for listening to music unless absolutely required!
not to bad if you have a decent headphones
I use my flyer everyday to listen to music and podcast and its not that bad. A set of great headphones makes a huge difference. Got me an ATH-M50 using spotify and the audio is not bad. No lossless mind you but no hiss or cracks you speak of. Been wanting to make play with the equalizer but spotify doesn't give you much options. I think this is a great app for people who wants more control of the sound not just loud. However was thinking about getting a headphone amp for that. Fiio E11.
Running Jellybro 20120814 (maguro) and tried it with Spotify.
It did not work.
Still looking for an equalizer that affects the output not the internal Android API channels or what ever...
Any Idea someone?

No idea what you are trying to achieve based on your text. Did you try DSP manager?
Is there a better way to get better control of the volume. I find 16 steps in volume control from min to max is not enough. When I hit around 12/13 it goes from not loud enough to too loud for the headphones I use. Any apps to get more resolution in volume control?
Thanks
For me equalizer app increased my volume when adjusting it and made my music sound way better. I'm sure there's other Apps too.

Experienced the same issue with my xperia zl...is there any fix for this
also would using an amplifier like FiiO E6 Portable Headphone Amplifier solve the prob
Sound in traffic is too pale and has no PUNCH in it
Flash the sound mod. Search around. It increases the stock volume levels.

Same. Is it normal that music is soft through earpiece? Unrooted by the way.

I managed to increase it a bit from the the Sound Menu in Settings.
I used the Sound Enhancement and changed the equaliser sliders.
I also later install Player Pro and Poweramp. Both gave better and louder sound.
The equaliser had a preamp slider to increase
Fixed Xperia Z2 headphone volume -NO ROOT-
You can increase your headphone volume on xperia z2 dramatically, before i used this method my volume was constantly on 100% because it was too low,and now it's on 60% because it is too high and the best of all is that quality is untouched. This method is very easy...First of all download app called volume booster. Now your walkman settings should look like on the pics i uploaded before you start using the app (I hope they did im new on this site and im on my phone lol) ok so go to walkman/settings/ and do the SAME settings as i have on pics. When you'r done with that take your headphones plug them in play some song,go to volume booster and and move volume button in app from maximum to minimum and without releasing the button move it to the maximum(your button should barely touch the minimum sound so do it fast ---> From max to minimum without releasing than to the maximum and release button, you will hear sound like you do when you press volume up for call volume) if volume after that sound doesnt increase do it more times until the volume isn't VEEERY loud.I do it every time when listening to song it's not hard as it sound you will get used to it,it will pay off trust me Love my xperia z2 now ^^ (settings are in croatian but that isnt importnant just uncheck clear audio go to equaliser and max out evertything and turn on DSEEHX( CRUCIAL STEP)
Even simpler solution... Use viper4Android from here:good:
